    Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars quite possibly the greatest Norteño cd ever..........2004-02-18

if only they hadnt recorded "idolos del pueblo"... los tigres del norte can sing a corrido and then a love song and then go on to sing a cumbia all without skipping a beat.. they won a grammy for this cd altough "idolos del pueblo" deserved it also.. they were the first conjunto norteño to win the "regional mexicana" with this cd.. all the songs are great and have something to say.. i would recommend this cd for everyone..

5 out of 5 stars Yes!! thank you America, all of it... (from North to South).......2002-07-23

First off I would like to make the below reviewer notice that the official name of the USA is "of America" and that other countries do call the US the "US" and not America as we are so incorrectly acustom to saying. With that said this CD is a classic as are all of the Tigres CD's and to knock the entire CD for the Political Correctness off a song is very wrong. This is one of those CD's that all of your family member will be singing at the family reunion. Especially "La Puerta Negra". And to add to the comments above I would also like to mention that most of the tribute album to the Tigres are covers from the tracks on this CD. A classic of Norteno music.

    2 out of 5 stars A band on a mission!.......1999-10-19

Los Tigres del Norte have a beef. You see, it seems that many of us use the word "America" as an abbreviation for the full name of our country, the United States of America. And we refer to ourselves as "Americans." In fact, this is generally understood around the world. (It's doubtful that Iran's government was referring to Paraguay when it denounced "America" as "The Great Satan.") However, Los Tigres think this is awful, just awful, and so they actually did a whole song on this CD about how unfair it is for us to refer to our nationality as American. So since Los Tigres are a little on the uptight side, it might be best for you to call yourself a "United Statester" or "USA dude/dudette" etc. in their presence lest they hurl a squeeze box at you.
