I am a native speaker and teacher. Latin Fiesta is great for dancing and to teach about the Latin culture. The music is not appropiate for children. There are a lot of sexual words in it.Latin Fiesta

Love the music! It's a great CD to get you moving.
However, I bought it thinking I could use it for a kids fiesta/party, becuase another review said it was great for kids. I would say it is highly inappropriate for kids, and would not use it to play for a group of children.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS ALBUM. THIS GUY TOOK ALL THE MOST FAMILIAR LATIN SONGS AND SPRINKLED IN A FEW MORE NEW FUN ONES. ITS A GREAT INTRODUCTION TO LATIN MUSIC FOR KIDS. IN LOT OF THE SONGS, THEY WILL SING PART OF THE SONG IN SPANISH THEN IN ENGLISH SO THE KIDS EVENTUALLY FIGURE OUT THE SPANISH WORDS BY LISTENING AGAIN AND AGAIN.MY SON CAN'T START HIS SCHOOL DAY WITHOUT IT. I love this album! From the beginning track "Un, Dos, Tres Maria" through "I Like It Like That", "Conga", "Lambada", "Oye Como Va" and "Guantanamera" this CD is awesome. 17 tracks for $10 can't be beat.

Resoundingly Good Colombian Music.......2000-07-29

As one who cringes when forced to listen to to the formulaic pap frequently served up as popular (commercial) Latin music, this CD is a delight. Alfredo Gutierrez is a musician of the first order, world class. He is a true "jazzist" on the folkloric accordion, and his songs are delivered with passionate comedy and musical expression that make it impossible for one to resist laughing out loud while tapping the feet and snapping the fingers. I lived in Central America for twenty years, and witnessed the return of huge flocks of parakeets and parrots amidst a great cacophony of raucous screeching to the trees around my house for their nightly roost. Anyone who is capable of faithfully imitating this sound on the accordion has truly mastered his instrument, and Alfred Gutierrez does it with a musical finesse and comical expression that always makes me laugh in the selection "Fiesta De Los Pajaros", which is part of cut 2: "Vallenato Medley" on this CD. Other cuts are equally entertaining, with selections of "musica Cumbia", and other Colombian "tipico" songs, such as "Festival En Guarare", "Dos Mujeres", "Salud, Dinero Y Amor", "El Polvorete", and "Se Va El Caiman". This CD was assembled from various live performances recorded at the WDR Folkfestival, in Cologne, Germany in July 1991, and the crowd's sounds of approval only add to the delight of the CD. My wife, who is Colombian, bought this CD from Amazon, and it has turned out to be a treasure, with amazingly rich technical rendition on my medium quality stereo system. Alfredo Gutierrez is a great comedian and a very talented musical artist. Break out the aguardiente!

This is a great "party" CD and features such classic Olivencia hits as "El Negro Chombo", "Plante Bandera", "Aun No Es Tiempo" and the title track. Simon Perez, Chamaco Ramirez, Sammy Gonzalez, Lalo Rodriguez and Paquito Guzman are all featured as lead singers on this fine collection of Olivencia's greatest hits from 1973-79.

Here you have one the best collection of singers! This is Salsa at its best. It doesn't get any better than this. Its a shame that we all have to get old for these guys would have taken my kind of music to the next century and beyond. If anyone that doesn't know what Salsa is, here you have a great chance to find out! And for you guys that helped put Salsa on the world map we all thank you! Que viva Puerto Rico!
