An Overlooked Classic!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2004-06-23

It took me about five years to appreciate this album. When I first bought it, I played once, didn't really listen to it, then put it away on my record shelf. One day, I felt like playing Chuck. All day I played Feels So Good, Fun And Games, Main Squeeze and more. As I went through my Mangione collection, I came across this one. I said, let me give it another chance. I did, and fell in love with it. The first song is magnificent, and the rest are a little below average, but will sute. Go to anyone, they'll say, it's a bad album, and this album has gotten bad reviews, by jazz critics. But if you're ready for a comitment, listen to this album, you'll love it!

I ain't believin' this is a cutout!.......2001-06-02

As the kickoff album of Mangione's A & M period, this is the one that still retained the magic of his "Concerts" period with Polygram (Mercury), when he and the Rochester Philharmonic made some truly beautiful music. That period was the bridge between his "Jazz Brothers" days when he was a protege of the late Dizzy Gillespie (and sounded it) and his most commercially successful period, when his sound got him recognized by some experts as the inventor of what is now termed "smooth jazz". I don't know about that--the way I see it, Mangione has always sounded best fronting a full orchestra. You'll hear echoes of that in this album and in a similar effort "Chase the Clouds Away". I will always prefer the Mangione who was comparable to Lalo Schifrin and John Barry to his bebop and smooth jazz incarnations.

This three-part CD allows the listener to chose one of three areas to target or move through the entire process.

The concept is: track one, Meditation (25:46 minutes), takes one on a journey to access the place of inner calmness. Much like an hour and a half yoga session in your own home.We could refer to that being as God, Spirit, Creator that resides within us all.

This Process assists the listener to discern how to understand the difference between the "logical mind" and the "feeling intuitive" being to obtain answers to everyday questions quickly, immediately, and from within themselves.

Track 3, Authentic Movement, (12:58 minutes) takes you on a sensual journey of allowing your inner spirit to freely "get up and move".

The concept behind the three tracks is about returning to the place of calm receptivity (track 1) in order to receive clarity to daily questions(track 2) and then in order for change to occur in the physical life, action must be taken by following the guidance that comes from within (track 3) from the "yes" feeling in the belly that makes one feel relaxed, open, and expansive through a sensual movement experience.

Cindy Shuster has put her heart and soul into this fantastic CD. You will find it an awesome and useful as tool for making your life better. The meditation part is relaxing and the movement part is fantastic for getting your mind and body into a relaxed and rejuvenated state of mind. I highly recommend it for everyone!
