About the Artist
Theatre of Life is a unique musical project centering around a series of well-crafted concept albums which feature a mix of pop, new age, progressive rock, musical theatre, and cinematic soundtrack influences. Unlike many standard rock operas where the story is driven by lyrical songs, Theatre Of Life focuses on mostly instrumental pieces with only a handful of strategically placed vocal songs and melodies. The story is told through an accompanying libretto, including dialogue and lyrics, which is written to be performed live or, alternatively, read by the listener while the soundtrack plays in the background. The effect is that of a live motion picture that plays out right before your eyes.

What we thought was only a final dream was really the transferred thoughts of a soldier who had been sent to war and now lay dying after having been fatally wounded. This album takes us on a journey through a brave man's dying thoughts as he flashes back to tell us the story of his life, and intermittently has premonitions about how his friends and family will react to his untimely death. But are the reactions real, or just a dying man's vision of what might have happened upon his death?

Product Description

Gift Horse is a product of both self-reflection and a fascination with the marginal experience at the edges of society. The songs tend to contemplate the meaning in suffering and misfortune, perhaps following the logic that maladies, disorders and loss, have equal beauty and resonance as their diametric opposites. In this spirit, the album is a celebration at, or near, the end of the line. There is a tender will for life even within those bent on self-destruction. Gift Horse is a survivor's story. One's redemption, or if you will, revenge, comes from plain perseverance, and through this fleeting connection to others. Life itself may well be the gift, even while it appears to be the source of our suffering. In the end, the album can only contemplate this paradox, and celebrate a flawed human spirit as a triumph in and of itself.
