Tonite

Tonite

Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Cole's first album, recorded in Nashville in 1994. Includes 10 original songs. An eclectic mix of rock, pop, country, and blues. Strong harmonies reminiscent of the Beatles, and lots of guitar. Cole delivers a raucous version of "Who Do You Love", a lullaby ballad with "Time Goes By", an island flavored pop song with "Give Her Love", and track 12 is a bluesy French version of the Sam Cooke classic "Bring It On Home". With romantic lyrics and lots of energy the album "Tonite" has something for everyone.

    Album Description

Bobby Hart and Tommy Boyce were popmeisters who wrote songs for the early Phil Spector productions among many others, but perhaps their best known project was The Monkees! .Turned down for roles early in the auditions, they landed the perhaps more artistically satisfying and lucrative roles as writer/producers for the music content of the show. Indeed, it was their own band, The Candy Store Prophets, who ghosted for The Monkees on their early sessions, including all the early hits and successful album tracks.

5 out of 5 stars Good CD Don't Know Why People are Hatin'.......2007-03-22

Montell Jordan is one of the few R&B singers worth listening to. I like the way that he sets up the CD the way Boyz II Men did their earlier ones by putting all of the fast songs together and all the slow ones together. I also like the way that he does Once Upon a Time is Spanish if you never seen the music video for this song you missed out. My favorites are
      Get it on Tonite
      Let's Cuddle Up
      Once Upon a Time

5 out of 5 stars Quality album from Montell Jordan-5 stars.......2006-10-07

I wouldn't put this album in the league of his classic albums like "This Is How We Do It" and "Let's Ride" but this album's still great from start to finish, my favorite tracks on here are "Once Upon A Time", "Get Down", "Do You","When I'm Sexin' You", and "Let's Get It On Tonite"(even though I like the remix with LL Cool J even better that ain't on the album), recommended from any of you r&b lovers out there, Montell's the truth!!

3 out of 5 stars This one is in the league of "This is how we do it".......2005-09-05

This album was one of those albums where the first song is misleading to buy the album. Get it on...tonite is a hit like "This is how..." but this album is better than that one. I applaud his attempt at originality with TRACK 17 but he shouldn't have split the slow and up-tempo and he should have put the Get it on...tonite remix instead of the last song. Now not like the other reviewers who love and adore everything he comes out with, I am honest. I have 5 of the 6 albums but I am going to tell the truth. This is better than "this is how..." but nowhere near "Let's Ride" & "More to Tell".

1 out of 5 stars bad music except for 1 song.......2005-03-24

I have and have heard a LOT of albums and this one really is crap. All the songs are pretty much the same and the difference between the first half and the second half (separated by the artist)...well there is no difference. He was trying to have have club music the first half and bedroom music the second half.

      5 out of 5 stars Terrific C.D.!.......2005-02-19

I finally left my frumpy spouse Bessie speechless. One large poop on and this book next to a breakfast plate at her folks house finally did it. And rendered me uninvited for the immediate future. What a shame. What a useful book. Bravo Gomi!! Bravo POOP!!

Another good outing for Zoot, this time in 1956, originally issued on the Storyville label. (1956 was a banner year for Zoot, in which he recorded at least 8 albums.) Bob Brookmeyer joins him on valve trombone, along with Hank Jones (p) Wyatt Ruther (b) and Gus Johnson (d). Zoot has a punchy but melodic sound on the tenor sax that is rooted in Lester Young; he is at his most Lestorian on the up-tempo swinger ZOOT'S TUNE. He also plays beautifully on the slow ballad I HEAR A RHAPSODY, where Brookmeyer lays out. BLUES has a real down-home flavor to it, even when Hank Jones switches over to celeste for a chorus; Zoot even sings a chorus (his first vocal on record), though it's nothing to write home about. (Zoot once admitted in an interview that he loved to sing, though he rarely did so on record - probably just as well.) Brookmeyer takes an interesting off-the-beat solo on BLUE SKIES. All told, this is a very pleasant, enjoyable CD.

            Album Description

Re-mastered & re-released on August 7th , 2007 on Sartorial Records. All reissues include multiple extra tracks, radio sessions, b-sides, live & unreleased material, plus new artwork. "I'd like our records to be so loud that you can't actually play them." -- James Johnston, the band's singer / guitarist / organist / harmonica player (Sounds 1990). Tonite... the singles bar, originally released in 1992, is a collection of the group's single only releases, comprised of tracks only available on vinyl. It was these early singles that had attracted the attention of the music press. The re-mastered reissue sees the original album expanded with the addition of an entire eight track live set. Recorded on the last night of the band's 1993 U.S. tour supporting PJ Harvey it captures the band at its live best, and features takes of many tracks such as From the heart of town. Standard Jewel Case.

            5 out of 5 stars Good Guitarist.......2006-12-29

Danny's a good guitarist and I enjoyed this cd very much. I liked the songs that are more bluesy vice the jazZier style but it works. I found it to be a bit too pricey for a relative unknown.

            5 out of 5 stars Amazing!.......2006-07-04

I had the pleasure of seeing Danny play with Mississippi Heat featuring Laurie Bell a few weeks ago at Murphy's Lounge in Omaha NE. WOW what a show! Not to take away anything from Laurie Bell but Danny was "HOT" while always showing good taste and respect for the elder guitarest. I bought this CD plus one of Mississippi Heats. While not a jazz fan Danny manages to combine blues and jazz expertly. I would, and have, recommend this CD to anyone. Very smooth and tasteful.

5 out of 5 stars Owwww! Don't be so mean!!.......2005-06-10

What a killer guitarist! Danny Draher will hypnotize you with his tasty licks and bluesy feel! You MUST try this CD! You won't be disappointed. With the back up band of Dr. John, Mike Clark on drums, and Wilbur Bascomb on Bass...

I was very impressed by this guitar player and his skill. I made an excellent decision to buy this CD! Thanks Danny Draher, you made my day.
