About the Artist
Judith Muro started out singing at a very young age. She mainly started performing in front of people at her local church when she was about 7 or 8 years old. From that point on she has sung at Fairs, Local Events, Concerts, and Promotional Benefits, such as singing for Radio Stations and Public Schools.

Judith has a great deal of singing experience since she has been singing and performing at an early stage in life. Judith is currently 21 years old and loving it. Her desire for music surely shows through in her singing, too, whether you are listening to her on stage at a concert, or listening to her on a CD album. There is just so much feeling and personality that Judith puts into her voice in each song that when she sings it makes each track sound like a million bucks.

Judith is currently on the Joe Anthony Productions Music Label and is recording on a regular basis now. The label allows Judith to express her own opinion about what she thinks of the music, and is allowed to co-produce all of her vocal tracks. The label believes strongly in an "artist's rights," allowing to give each artist their full deserved rights mainly because some of the members of the label are musicians themselves and have already payed their dues, so they know what it is like to be "truly" and "honestly" fair in today’s recording and music industry.

With this in mind, everyone has a clear idea and thinks open-mindedly about music and production, we are able to accomplish great things and produce the best product that we possibly can. The label has decided to release a new CD with Judith which is scheduled to be out on or by March 10th, 2003. Everyone is excited to get this great new CD into the market and to start promoting this phenomenal singer and her music. This current CD will feature her singing great Oldies and Doo-Wop songs all in Spanglish, so you will really get an idea of what Judith is all about after you listen to this CD. Judith can perform to any audience whether it be large or small.

Judith and her label have recently been working with other record labels and Entertainment professionals to further her career. We are currently negotiating plans that will take Judith to the next level! If you would like to work with Judith Muro and Joe Anthony Productions to arrange a booking for your show(s), then just give us a call any time day or night and we will get back to you right away! We are really looking forward to this brand new year of 2003!

Repeating the feat that accompanied his directorial debut, Garden State, Zach Braff has again put together a tastefully assembled compilation of music. The track listing reads like a cherry-picked bouquet of refined American singer-songwriters (Fiona Apple, Aimee Mann, Rufus Wainwright, Ray Lamontagne), sprinkled with literate-yet-popular UK combos (Snow Patrol, Athlete, Turin Brakes) and the lone international megaband (Coldplay, already on Garden State). Based on the selection, Braff is the kind of guy who isn't afraid to show his sensitive side (that'd be the American songs, especially Apple's "Paper Bag" and Aimee Mann's "Today's the Day"), but who also likes to hang out at soft-rock clubs with his cool mates (that'd be the British songs, especially Snow Patrol's "Chocolate" and Turin Brakes' Simon & Garfunkel-like "Pain Killer"). Really, it's a win-win combination—except for those who prefer their rock more rocking, since the mood is, overall, really mellow. (Note that Michael Penn score isn't represented here.) --Elisabeth Vincentelli

5 out of 5 stars good songs collection.......2007-07-27

It reflects the story of the movie when I listen to it. Especially track 12, by Aimee Mann.

4 out of 5 stars Good music .......2007-06-11

I loved the music that i saw on the movie and had to have this cd. The soundtrack is very good. Songs from Snow Patrol, Coldplay, Carry Brothers, and Remy Zero are very good, along with some of the others. If you liked the music on the movie then you will love the soundtrack

5 out of 5 stars Off the beaten path.......2007-05-27

Think Garden State soundtrack....if you loved that one - then you will love this. It actually feautures a lot of the same artists. I like this CD because it's an eclectic mix of bluesy, upbeat, downbeat somber songs.
It features Imogen Heap, Cary Brothers, Coldplay and more.
The music fits perfectly to the movie!
I like the cd because it exposes you to music you don't hear everyday- or sometimes ever...on the radio. It's an off the beaten path mix of songs that make you feel good.

Music is a hard thing to review because it is all a matter of taste. However, if you liked Garden State and the Scrubs soundtracks, you'll enjoy this, too!

It wasn't long ago that people were bemoaning a paucity of visible male jazz singers. Now, with the emergence of slick young vocalists like Michael Buble and Jamie Cullum and the continued success of more mature artists like Kurt Elling, Kevin Mahogany, and Harry Connick, Jr., the field is getting a bit crowded. But there's still a shortage of men who have the depth and individual style of female counterparts including Diana Krall, Karrin Allyson, and Dianne Reeves. With his second album, 30-year-old Tony DeSare, yet another proficient Sinatra imitator, will likely gain listeners with his easy-swinging vocals and cocktail-smooth piano playing, spiked as it is with Erroll Garner effects. But for all its surface appeal, Last First Kiss fails to hold interest. A mix of standards by the likes of Cole Porter and Irving Berlin, pop tunes by Prince and Carole King and originals by DeSare, the album has a kind of American Idol-does-jazz feel. It's never lacking in energy or enthusiasm but rarely leaves you feeling any of it matters. --Lloyd Sachs

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars A truly surprising listen........2007-05-09

As the labels try to get a new handle on the adult market, it's hard to be an up and coming pianist/crooner today.
Trying to break the current mold, DeSare veers from the current pack, also trying to break out, but ditching the classics and moving recent works into more of an MOR bag, whether covering Carole King, King Cole or Prince. Keeping the music out of elevators and dentist's offices, along with his own compositions, ( where he pleasantly showcases his knack for both classic jazz standard-influenced songcraft, as on the poignant "I'll Never Have Enough of You," as well as more contemporary rock-influenced writing ) , DeSare interprets Prince's "Kiss," Carole King's "I Feel The Earth Move" and the little-known Sammy Cahn/Jimmy Van Heusen "Come On Strong."
DeSare has a personality and puts it to good use, the defining thing that could separate him from the pack and let him make his move. He's got that thing soccer moms at Starbucks could relate to while impatiently waiting on her latte.
He is supported by a stellar backing enseble including bassist and co-writer Mike Lee, guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, and tenor saxophonist Harry Allen.
Best tracks : "Kiss", "I'll Never have Enough Of You" and "First Last Kiss".

5 out of 5 stars Finally...Jaw-Dropping Talent!!!.......2007-04-29

I recently had the privilege of seeing Tony DeSare perform in the famed Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel in New York City. This is where Harry Connick Jr. and Diana Krall got their big breaks. I can sum up the show with one word...wow. The entire audience felt the same. The applause and standing ovations from the typically reserved regulars showed deep appreciation for his extraordinary talent. Mr. DeSare's incredible delivery of standards and stellar originals seemingly teleports the listener to a warm, comfortable place in a simpler time. Resisting is futile as flavorful, beautiful tones bring a smile to the soul. Integral in his ability to deliver such an experience is his disarmingly pure charisma. The highly critical New York Times music reviewer Steven Holden seemed to agree; he printed a near rave review of the show in March. Tony DeSare is obviously destined for stardom. This is one very special human being. Last First Kiss and Want You are juicy, simply spectacular 'must have' albums. Give them as gifts and you'll hear 'thanks again- I love that guy' over and over. At least that's what I keep hearing.

5 out of 5 stars A Stone Groove!.......2007-03-06

This is just what you need on a day where nothing seems to be going right. Listening to Tony at work makes even the work day go by quicker! I love him.

5 out of 5 stars Swingin', Sultry and Romantic.......2007-03-05

DeSare emits a steamy and sexy vibe other singers of his genre have failed to generate. His voice is a fusion of the warm tones of Sinatra, the sensuality of early Connick and his own jazz style. The thing that sets him apart from the rest of the `Rat Pack' is his ability to write songs that blend seamlessly into his genre. To top it off, he is an amazing pianist whose skills mystify many of the other crooners on the charts today. Even vocalists who originated this contemporary jazz style were neither composers nor instrumentalists.

"Kiss" stands out as an album favorite. It is not only is it a great song, but it is a testament to the artist's ability to take a song that has been done well in the past and make it even better by giving it his own sensual twist. His heart-felt portrayal of his music distinguishes him from the "cheesy" stigma of the jazz vocalist. `Last First Kiss' is wonderful for dinner parties, a romantic evening or just for the pure joy of listening to an artist with genuine talent.

5 out of 5 stars Sinatra reincarnated.......2007-02-23

I heard about Tony on NPR recently. I ordered his 2 albums for my dad's birthday -- he loves the old crooners. I also ordered his latest album for myself because his is such a nice departure from much of the pop music mush these days. After my initial listen: wow, this guy gets it. He sings in the old crooner style, but not in a contrived way. You can tell he's still his own man. I like that he's chosen less mainstream songs from the past.

5 out of 5 stars So much fun!.......2007-06-13

This is still such a classic and so much fun!

5 out of 5 stars BYE BYE BIRDIE.......2007-03-03

I always enjoyed the film version of "Birdie" as well as the soundtrack and now this reissue includes "The Sultans Ballet" where Janet Leigh bites off more than she can chew when she invites a group of Sultans(Shriners) to dance. There are a couple of minor inclusions including "We Love You Conrad" and the rehearsal of "One Last Kiss" My only question is why didnt they use the complete version of "A Lot of Livin To Do" Even with the additional tracks the CD clocks in at 46 minutes so space wasn't a problem. It's quite understandable why the Russian Ballet was not included since it would be out of place on an otherwise perky and bright score.

While "Bye Bye Birdie" may not be one of the best scores it is zesty and cheerful to listen to on a gloomy day and as one of the numbers suggests it helps you to "Put On A Happy Face"

4 out of 5 stars Bye Bye Birdie soundtrack.......2006-07-01

The product itself is excellent, but: 1) it took about three weeks to arrive; and 2) we didn't realize the film cut out and added so music. What we needed was a soundtrack for the stage production.

4 out of 5 stars Love the movie...but the soundtrack?.......2006-05-04

I am a huge fan of the movie and the soundtrack is also amazing...the only thing I'm uspet about is that "One Last Kiss" on the cd is TOTALLY different!

4 out of 5 stars Bye Bye Birdie was a good Buy Buy.......2005-08-02

Solid cast recording brings back the light-hearted msuicals of the 50s and 60s. Used as the primer for an upcoming stage version of the show, we listened frequently, and haven't tired yet.

3 out of 5 stars Should be titled Great End Credits Themes.......2007-04-05

Okay, so I thought I was buying "Great Movie Love Themes." I was familiar with the list, so I thought I would be getting the perfect compilation of melodies. Wrong. This CD should be titled, "Great Movie End Credits Themes," because four of the 12 selections are End Credits music, the stuff no one wants to listen to as all the technical information rolls at the end ot a movie (you know, exit music). The trouble with End Credits is that few carry the actual love theme music or they carry only a small snippet. Most End Credits music is boring. "The English Patient," "Shakespeare in Love," "Sabrina," and "Braveheart," are all End Credits music. Don't expect to hear predominant love themes in these particular selections for which the movies are known.

On the plus side, "Unchained Melody," "Somewhere in Time," and "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini," are beautiful renditions. And the End Credits music for "Sabrina," is better than expected. I'd give "Unchained Melody," "Somewhere in Time," and "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini" five stars, "Sabrina" four stars and the other eight selections two stars.

Just be aware when you buy this album that you are not getting exactly what is described. You have to read the fine print on the back of the CD cover.

5 out of 5 stars Great Mood Music! .......2006-02-27

I love any movie themes, especially the unsung tracks such as the music for opening or closing credits. This is a terrific CD and keeps me happy at work!

5 out of 5 stars movie themes.......2006-02-18

This CD is one of my new favorites. The music is just beautiful. Very relaxing soundtracks for in the car or at home.

4 out of 5 stars Wonderfully romantic.......2004-02-10

I really enjoy listening to CD for everything it has. The mixture of cinema movies makes it more likeable for they're films that most movie-goers will be able to relate to, in one way or another. Just say "Romeo and Juliet" and I'll think Nino Rota.
A personal favourite would have to be "The Heart Asks Pleasure First" (The Piano) but "Rose" (Titianic) follows close behind. The suite, "A Time For Us" (Romeo and Juliet) brings tears to my eyes and "Somewhere In Time" is a lovely ballad. For any other lovers of romance, whether it be in movies or in music, this is one cd that you are sure to like.

4 out of 5 stars A Good Listen.......2003-01-28

Some familiar favorites from great movies. A good cd to have for entertaining because everyone recognizes the tunes.

While based in the Washington area, they won a dozen WAMMIEs (Washington Area Music Awards) and have built both a solid reputation and fanbase over the years. Last Train Home's latest eclectic alt-country effort (their fourth album overall) includes eleven originals, ten by guitarist/vocalist & frontman Eric Brace and one penned by guitarist Steve Wedemeyer. The band has been cranking out the tunes for about ten years, and Brace relocated to Nashville in 2003. Delivering a confident and personalized roots rock sound, Last Train Home also includes Jen Gunderman (keyboards, accordion, percussion), Jim Gray (bass), and Martin Lynds (drums, percussion). Jen and Martin contribute background vocals. Also appearing in the mix are Kevin Cordt (trumpet), Claire Small (backing vocals on "The Color Blue"), and Tom Mason (banjo on "You").

The title track opens the set with a desire to move on beyond broken hearts and promises despite the availability of one "last good kiss." The set makes a dynamic segue to the melodic electric guitar riff of "Flood," a song about being carried away on the rising tide of love. A poignant ballad with acoustic overtones, "Anywhere But Here" expresses the yearning to find new direction. In fact, many of Brace's sentiments are about his optimistic needs, wishes and dreams, through thick and thin, always trying to keep an upbeat attitude despite adversity and rejection. Gunderman's accordion gives the band a distinctive Texas border sound, and my guess is that they're building a legion of fans in the Lone Star State at roadhouses and dance halls where they perform. The 5-minute "Go Now" and 7-minute "May" express some of Brace's most pensive and reflective moments -- "be brave enough to let it all in, always give more than you take." Putting these two relaxed songs back-to-back at the midpoint of the set creates a whole different mood, one that is captivating but some may feel is enervating and causes the set to lose some of its energy. I hope that lyrics for their songs will be uploaded soon to the band's website because listeners need to contemplate and reflect upon them.

The second half of the set make some clear and convincing statements, but I felt some additional background vocals would have sweetly embellished choruses on songs like "I'm Coming Home," "Kissing Booth," and "Marking Time." The combination of percussion, trumpet and Claire Small's vocal backing make the album's unique closer, "The Color Blue" awash with an impressionistic azure character that leaves us feeling in high spirits and content with the overall set. Placido Domingo's blazing tenor enriches these traditional Broadway show stoppers, supported by mammoth orchestrations in perfect balance and enhanced by his trademark musicianship and intelligence. In "All I Ask Of You," he excitingly explodes like a bursting water balloon. His duet with Carly Simon ("Last Night of the World") works in an intergalactic way--music makers from separate planets can successfully collaborate. In "Send In the Clowns," we are reminded of the tune's prettiness; while others find a poignantly delicate moment, Domingo's personal revelation is the size of Mt. Olympus. And why not? He is a god of song. An exception is made for "Our Love is Here to Stay," winner of the most-likely-to-appear-in-an-elevator award. Overall, a dazzling music experience. --Barbara Eisner Bayer

4 out of 5 stars Generally, a pleasant surprise.......2003-01-19

This is a compilation of lovely Broadway songs, beautifully sung. I liked most of the selections in every way--singing, orchestration, etc. I found the piece from "Miss Saigon" ("The Last Night in the World"), with a moving duet with Domingo and Carly Simon, to be astonishingly beautiful. I was surprised that these two could collaborate so well reminiscent of Mary Martin and Ezio Pinza), I have enjoyed repetitive listening of this track. The only downer, in my view, was "Over There." Sad to say, Placido does not do justice to George M. Cohan. For reasons I don't completely understand, he substitutes "The boys are coming" for the very triumphant "The Yanks are coming" line, which is the heart of the song. Toss this ridiculous mistake out, maybe a fifth star.

4 out of 5 stars Very pretty!.......2001-01-14

I found this one in my library system and checked it out because of "So In Love" -- and quickly fell in love with the rest of it! There are classically trained opera singers who cannot pull off singing Broadway, but Domingo is not one of them. Granted, the idea of hearing "Oh, What A Beautiful Mornin'" sung with an Italian accent seems a little strange, since everyone knows that a cowboy is supposed to be singing it, but I think Domingo's accent adds to the charm of the songs.

I only gave this album four stars because I didn't care for the arrangements of the songs from "West Side Story" and also because the combination of Domingo and Carly Simon seemed mismatched. The duet with Rebecca Luker, however, in "All I Ask Of You," is what I would consider the highlight of the CD. Their voices blend so well and they have the same classic style. Ted Huffman's boy soprano adds a lot to "Try To Remember," enhancing the soaring prettiness of the melody. The arrangement of "Send In The Clowns" is a masterpiece, while Domingo sings it with convincing sadness. Also his portrayal of "Our Love Is Here To Stay" has the gentle simplicity that I believe the Gershwins meant for it.

As for the rest of the songs, they are just plain GOOD! All in all this is a very enjoyable recording and it goes to the top of my wish list.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best CD's out there!.......2007-05-10

All ages and musical backgrounds love this CD. The Baltimore Consort are amazing. One really feels one is in a smoky pub in the 14oo's getting plastered with England's best musicians! Don't miss "Pox on You;" my kids absolutely howl with glee at the "bass fartophone." I haven't heard laughter like that come out of my little boy since he was a toddler. "Sweet Sir Walter" features one of the guys singing in a falsetto that sweeps lustily down into a Tim Curry-esque (think Dr. Frank-n-furter)gutteral guffaw of delight. So outrageously fun one forgets one is listening to Renaissance madrigals.

4 out of 5 stars a voice teacher and early music fan.......2007-03-25

These bawdy catches and ballads take us on a journey to the taverns and other social gathering places of the the real 'Merry Old England'. Some of us may be mildly shocked by the directness and earthiness of the text, but everyday life in the 17th century was much more 'down-to'earth- and forward. These texts-some blatant and other euphemistic-fully explore the spectrum of humor from the sly smirk to the back-slapping guffaw.
The singing of both ballads and catches belongs to a long and venerable tradition in England. The natural habitat of the of the catch was the tavern, while the ballad was known in a wider variety of social settings as well as the stage. By the end of the 17th century, ballads were collected by connoisseurs of popular culture and published in anthologies. The main source for this recording, 'The Catch Club, or 'Merry Companions', was printed in 1762.
A quote from the catch-philosopher (of 'Come, come let us drink') is offered by the Baltimore Consort: "...wine and good cheer will in spite of our fear inspire our hearts with mirth..the time we live, to wine let us give, since we all must turn to earth...."
This is an excellent collection of songs; quite interesting and varied. The instruments are played skillfully, and the voices, for the most part, are good quality. However, as with all 'folk-like' songs, the diction is not always clear, and that is very true of several of these on this disc. The female voices were more difficult to comprehend much of the time. The text is printed out, so ultimately familiararity will make them easier to understand. I do like the disc, and think that it needed to be done.As to a previous criticism concerning the fact that it wasn't 'true' barroom singing. Of course, it's not!!!If it were, you would not understand any of it!!!!!Enough said.

5 out of 5 stars Prelewd to Postlewd.......2005-09-28

The Baltimore Consort, an ensemble of six players, was founded in 1980 with the purpose of performing 'broken consort' pieces of Elizabethan origin. 'Broken' here refers to the instrumentation - treble viol/violin, flue/recorder, lute, cittern, bandore and bass viol. Their repertoire expanded beyond these beginnings to include broader British fare, as well as French and Italian music of the time. This is a happy expansion, as it made this disc of older, bawdy (for its time) music possible.

The Baltimore Consort play with life and vigour, with a good deal of improvisational flair, not being bound to texts and going through the production of notes as if mechanically. This is true to the spirit and nature of the early music, in which performers often had to 'play by ear', neither being able to read music nor having printed music even if they could. This is particularly true of the songs on this disc, where many are derivative of anonymous jokes and stories, and much of the music is likewise folk-tune and anonymously composed.

Some of the songs can be rather shocking. As Mary Anne Ballard writes in the accompanying notes, 'We must remember that in the days before indoor plumbing and pooper-scooper laws, everyday life was of an earthier flavour than it is today.... The men of the singing clubs and the ladies of stage poked fun at themselves and their companions with wit, pleasantry and contrivance.'

The names of many of the composers of these pieces have been lost to history, particularly the more folk-song oriented ones. However, some well-known composers are represented among the pieces here - Purcell, D'Urfey, Aldridge, and others.

The regular players include Mary Anne Ballard (viols), Mark Cudek (cittern, guitar, recorder and bass viol), Custer LaRue (vocalist/soprano), Larry Lipkis (recorder, viols), Ronn McFarlane (lute), Chris Norman (flutes), Webb Wiggins (tambourine and 'virginals'). Some artists are known from other Dorian productions, such as Ronn McFarlane on the lute in the collection 'Greensleeves'.

Added to the regular consort players are the Merry Companions, including Peter Becker (baritone), Alexander Blachly (baritone), Paul Shipper (bass, belch-canto), and James Weaver (baritone).

One more addition includes a guest artist, Lorenzo Labbrobacio, playing of all things, the 'fartophone', a rather mysterious instrument indeed. Labbrobacio defies identification on the internet other than references to this disc, and so the mystery deepens.

This is music that is interesting, truly fun to listen to, entertaining and has a quality about it that makes it a joy both in musical and humourous tones.

2 out of 5 stars Sounds like they're singing Christmas carols.......2004-11-09

This recording is professionally produced - perhaps too much so. I've been in a few taverns and heard my share of bawdy songs. I am used to hearing them sung with gusto, with a wink and a naughty smile, to the raucous and enthusiastic appreciation of the audience. The songs on this CD are performed entirely straight. The results are technically competent but fail utterly in conveying the spirit and fun that make this genre worth listening to.

4 out of 5 stars A sly and rollicksome good time!.......2002-11-29

On this recording, the Baltimore Consort and the Merry Companions are full of fun, both blatant and tongue-in-cheek. Soprano Custer La Rue and the instrumentalists of the Consort are joined by a quartet of classical male singers (Peter Becker, Alexander Blachly, Paul Shipper and James Weaver) with quite a theatrical sense of humor. The two groups take turns presenting ribald tavern songs of merry old England, interspersed by light, catchy instrumentals listed in the credits as the "Prelewd", the "Interlewd" and a "Fresh Ayre". Drinking, sex and other bodily functions are both celebrated and ridiculed in songs that are cleverly worded and enthusiastically sung, and in at least one case, accompanied by a mysterious instrument (reminiscent of P.D.Q. Bach) called a "fartophone". Especially amusing are the "catches" or rounds, and the new meanings that result from the staggering of words when several different verses are all sung together. It sounds silly, and is silly, but that's the point of it all--celebrating the "earthier flavor" of life 17th and 18th century England. My copy came with a parental advisory sticker stuck fast to the case, but my mother didn't seem overly concerned, and in fact enjoyed it too when I played it for her! For more fun Renaissance vocals, both salacious and serious, try "All At Once Well Met: English Madrigals" by the King's Singers, and "The King's Singers' Madrigal History Tour: Italy, England, France, Spain, Germany" by the King's Singers and the Consort of Musicke.
