OKAY ENDING SINGLE TO SPICE.......2001-04-17
1) MAMA (RADIO VERSION)- This sweet sounding song dedicated to mothers around the world is flavored slightly with R&B, but is more of a pop ballad. On the single, this track is more tolerable than it is on the album since the radio edit is almost a minute and a half shorter than the album version and doesn't get so boring.
2) WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE (RADIO VERSION)- This pop dance song is very catchy and adds a bit of that addictiveness that is present in many tracks from "Spice." After a while, the beat gets boring and the whole song soon gets forgotten. The vocals are okay, but the lyrics are not as catchy.
3) BABY COME ROUND- The exclusive B-Side of this single is flavored with a very R&Bish sound, and Mel B does a catchy rap bit in the middle. Mel C provides strong and sweet vocals. This song is good, but doesn't match up to the quality of some of the previous B-Sides.
4) MAMA (BIFFCO MIX)- This remix of "Mama" adds a bit of flavor to the boring beat of the original song. It doesn't mix it up to be dance or uptempo at all, but it enhances the boring guitar/violin sound of "Mama." All in all, "Mama" never brought out a remix to truly redeem itself.
This single is okay, but if you're looking for an early single by the Spice Girls, one like "Wannabe" or "Say You'll Be There" stands out to be a more substantial choice.
