Harmony Bunny combines rock, folk, and even some 80's-style synth-pop in to an interesting and thoroughly rhythmic musical pastiche. Ashfield sings and plays all of the instruments, except for some guest appearances by Chris Xefos on the Moog, Ed Boland on drum programming, and Patrick Goodwin (of Pansy Division) on lead guitar for a few tracks. The CD also includes an animated video for the instrumental Harmony’s Theme, playable on any computer.

I enjoy this CD thoroughly, more than any other I've bought for perhaps a year or so. John Ashfield's native New Jersey sensibility combines well with his California dreamin' pop hooks. His versatility in the recording studio reminds me of another obscure, do-it-yourself pop master named Emmit Smith. You can sense Ashfield's generous spirit as he encourages a favorite singer named Joni to smile, or sings to a man about his love.
