1 out of 5 stars Answer to song question.......2005-02-21

To the music fan the name of the song is "Left/Right" that the cheerleaders dance to at halftime. This is all the info I have on it:

Written by: Ains Prasad and Obi Nwobosi
Produced by: Presidential Campaign
Performed by: Presidential Campaign

My squad has been looking for the CD containing the song for a month and no luck, so if anyone has any info where or if the song is available please advise.

5 out of 5 stars what's that song?.......2004-07-08

what's that song at the part when paris and alvin are supposedly "standing on the pool water" and he leans in to kiss her, but falls in the pool? it's been bothering me forever, can someone help me? what is that song?

3 out of 5 stars Okay..........2004-02-06

The movie looks dumb as hell but the soundtrack seemed like it would be good. I heard the first cut, "Shorty (Put it on the Floor") with Busta and Nick Cannon in this hip hop class I'm taking so I wanted the cd just to practice the steps at home. Murphy Lee's "Luv me Baby" is a favorite of mine but I just bought his cd so I don't really listen to it on here. Why do artists put the same songs from their album on a soundtrack? We want to hear something new! Another example: R. Kelly's ignition remix...wasn't that on two cds already? Why is it on a third? Joe Budden's song "Baby Girl" is soooo annoying, and I love Joe Budden's cd so maybe I should erase the comment about new music on soundtracks. The chorus is just him saying "Baby Girl" in a really annoying tone. He should've switched it that "Oh" noise he made at the very beginning because that was kinda cute. Surprisingly, Jill Scott's song "Comes To Light (Everything)" was a little too low-cut for me and I don't even remember it. It was weird to hear 3LW curse, but the song was cool. The rest of the songs I don't remember at all. There were good artists on there, but only two songs I really listen to and that's #1 and #2. By the way, Nick Cannon put it down on #1. I really wasn't too fond of his lyrics until I heard this song.

4 out of 5 stars One of the Best Movie soundtracks of the YEAR 03.......2004-01-12

I picked this disc up on a whim and pure couriosity. I must say i'm pleasantly suprised. It features a few R&b singers who have been off the musical radar. The soundtrack starts with familar hits of the summer by R Kelly, P-diddy and Busta.

"Love Don't Cost a Thing" features new songs by
Nicole Wray "I wanna kiss You", she sounds great as always, it
has a brandy feel
3LW "hate to luv you", possibly the best song they've ever done
though i'm not a fan

Nivea "Exgirlfriend" another midtempo song like the ones
above, one of her best todate
Jill Scott "comes to ligt" a meaningful slow jam
Ginuwine "how far will i go" midtempo
Also it includes music by new artist..Jeannie Ortega, Hous'ton, and Melissa Schuman-former member of Dream

5 out of 5 stars JENNIFER LOPEZ ROCKS!!!!!.......2006-05-08

This is one of my favorite maxi-singles EVER. It's even better than her amazing "If You Had My Love" single, because none of the remixes are repeated in another edit. There are four distinct remixes of "Love Don't Cost A Thing", and one hit club mix of "Let's Get Loud". The only problem some might see with the single, is that the album version is not present on here. But if you own a copy of the "J.Lo" album, then this CD would be the PERFECT companion for it.

Here is my personal breakdown of the CD:

LOVE DON'T COST A THING
1. H2Q CLUB VOCAL MIX - This is a very interesting dance remix because it darkens the mood of the song to give that club feel. It was remixed by Hex Hector and Mac Quale, which may be why it has the same feel as her amazing club mix of "Waiting for Tonight" (also remixed by Hex). For this mix, the vocals have been re-recorded, and are sung somewhat different that the album version. The beat is really infectous, and it takes the song to a whole new level.

2. MAIN RAP #1 FEATURING PUFFY - This remix is EXTREMELY rare. Actually, I think this is the only CD in the world that it is available on. I personally love this remix. It is my favorite track on this single. The music is very R&B/Electronic, and it's really catchy. Puff's rap is ok, but what I like most about it, is that the beat doesn't kick in until the first pre-chorus, so it has a nice build-up. The lyrics are not re-recorded. This was remixed by Mario Winans, and P. Diddy, and it has a typical "Bad Boy Productions" feel.

3. RJ SCHOOLYARD REMIX - No, this does not feature Fat Joe. So it was obviously a misprint. This was produced by Richie Jones, who also helped produce the original version. For those wondering ***THIS IS THE VERSION THAT IS FEATURED DURING THE BREAKDOWN OF THE "LOVE DON'T COST A THING" MUSIC VIDEO***, so I'm sure you are familiar with how this one sounds. I really like electric guitar/ 80's hip-hop feel. It really makes the song fun to dance to. I'm actually kind of glad that this mix doesn't feature Fat Joe, becase I'm not a huge fan of his, and that version is available on "J to tha L-O!" remix album, anyways.

4. FULL INTENTION CLUB MIX - This version is a disco version of the track. It has the typical disco strings that would be heard on classic 70's songs and the percussion also has that feel, but the dance beat is also reminiscent of house songs from the early 90's. My personal favorite part of this mix is in the middle of it, the song gradually decreases in treble, and gets muffled, and you can really hear the bass, then it clears up again. I'm not sure if the vocals are re-recorded, but nevertheless, they are arranged and edited diefferently, to fit with the disco music.

LET'S GET LOUD
5. KUNG POW CLUB MIX - This version is basically a longer version of the "Pablo FLores Remix", that is featured on "J to tha L-O!" album. I'm not sure why is was not listed as a "Kung Pow" remix on that album, because that is who remixed it (Flores mixed the original album version). Like track #1, this is given more darker club feel It is filled with a repetitive, yet catchy, piano line. Also, there are repetitive horns that are included, which helps keep the latin feel of the song. The lyrics are not re-recorded. I do like how the spoken line "'Cause I'm gonna live my life" is repeated on here, because it adds an edge to it.
______________________________________________________

As you can see, this is a very versitle maxi-single, b/c it has pop, disco, hip-hop, dance/club, R&B, and latin elements on it. If you are a J.Lo fan and/or if you love remixes, you will NOT be dissappointed with this single.

I also reccommend picking up a copy of "J to tha L-O! The Remixes" (If you have not done so already).

5 out of 5 stars HQ2 - THE remix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2005-02-20

This Maxi/12" Single for Jenny Lo's UK #1 single 'Love Don't Cost A Thing' is rather pleasent. If anything, i'm glad it includes the fab remix by HQ2, who also remixed Feelin' So Good & Waiting For Tonight and got very good results! The tracks are:-

Love Don't Cost A Thing-

1. HQ2 Club Vocal Remix (10.54) -- The 11-minute nearly dance remix that is great from beginning to end. It will leave you wanting more and surely leave you sweating and you'll have shaken your butt off the dance floor! Easy the best remix for this song -- 6/5 (What more can you give it?!)

2. Main Rap #1 feat. Puffy (3.36) -- After the HQ2 remix I was still expecting some great results more this remix. As I thought the HQ2 remix beyond what I expected it to be and beyond brilliant. This remix was pleasent but nothing more. It took a while to get us too and sounds weird compared to the original. The rap by Puffy is amazing -- 4/5

3. RJ Schoolyard Remix featuring Fat Joe (4.19) -- Everyone has said Fat Joe fails to deliver his rap on this mix, but how???! It's excellent and I loved it at first. I gone off it a bit beacuse it was overplayed. It was available on the J to The L-O: The Remixes CD & she EVEN invited it back to the new single 'Get Right' so it's been a bit overplayed but it's OK -- 4/5

4. Full Intention Remix (7.15) -- It's a long mix so the first thing that comes into everyone's mind is club -- right??? I wouldn't describe it as club, it's rather slow & a funky groove and has a 70's feel to it somewhat but it brings back the five or six star ratings! -- 5/5

Let's Get Loud-

5. Pung Pow Club Mix (8.08) -- Does anyone know who actually remixed this?! It's been listed by Castle Hill Club -- It's been listed as Kung Pow -- even Pablo Flores may have remixed it!? Nevertheless it's a great remix! There is a edit which clocks at 3.57 and a extended edit which clocks at 5.29, on the J to tha L-O: The Remixes album. Check out the Matt & Vivo remixes too! -- 5/5

5 out of 5 stars J.Lo's 'Love' Remixed.......2002-08-02

While many people see Jennifer as a hip-hop tart do to her recent chain of chart successes, she's just as much a dance club diva. On the only commercial single released from her second "J.Lo" album, she comes across as both. She takes the song "Love Don't Cost A Thing" to the dance clubs with a pair of mixes by Hex Hector & Mac Quayle and Full Intention, and to the streets with the help of Bad Boy and Terror Squad. The HQ2 take on the song is epic, playing with her vocals, dropping beats and twists everywhere, and not ending until you've surely shaken your butt off on the dancefloor. The next mix is a rather generic hip-hop rub by her former beau Puffy, it's not bad, but it's nothing spectacular either. Next up is the mix that's supposed to feature Fat Joe, but fails to deliver his rap. Which is fine, it's a good remix with or without him, and is probably the most familiar to the common fan, as it was used in the video's dance break. The final "Love" mix, is a deep disco house reworking by Full Intention, the vocal is slower, the groove is deeper and funkier. A high quality disco take on the original. The next track is a sort of bonus to the American fans, one of the club mixes to her previously issued international single "Let's Get Loud". It's not bad, but as dance mixes go, there are two far better already present for the main cut. Perfect single for any of her fans.

4 out of 5 stars trivial.......2002-01-28

the song is nice, but after a few times you listen to it it's boring.

There are no words I have orded alot of JLO'S CD's from you all thank you

4 out of 5 stars don't say it is so much bad..........2004-12-21

I know it's a commercial well known singer and a well known actress but this song is good, really good, she's got a voice, oh yes she's got a voice!
It has got medium lyrics, but the sample and the style are great.
It's my opinion, I'm not a lover of r&b/pop but I make an exception for her because she has got all the things to become a appreciate singer, isn't it?
She's got a good voice, a good style, good featurings in her carreer (Nas, The Lox, Fat Joe, Big Pun, LL Cool J, P.Diddy, Ja Rule, R.Kelly ...), and a perfect physical apparence!

5 out of 5 stars review content not price.......2002-10-18

my observations of reviews of imports find that many critique the price of imports and not the content. hello? a cd is classified as an import if it was manufactured overseas for an overseas market, not a US market. therefore anything "imported" is always going to cost more including cd's. so please stop complaining about the price of imports! this cd was made to promote the forthcoming cd, "J.Lo" which had not been released yet. you receive not only the album cut, you get a remix, and a couple of bonuses: a remix medley of top songs from her prior album and the music video of the song which qualifies this cd as "enhanced" and allow me to watch in its entirety and at my discretion without having wait for it on MTV . this cd does what it was designed to do which is effectively promote a very much anticipated cd to Jennifer Lopez's fan base much better than a 45 could ever do and thus earn its 5 star rating from me.
