I absolutely love this song. It's the best single from her so far. It has the video on it too. So you can listen and watch.
The video was exactly the way I imagine it. Dirt road, waiting for someone to show up and she looks beautiful. Also has two songs that are not on the album. It's a good packaged single.

What took you so long has been one of the greatest hits in 2001, number 1 in England and in other 15 countries, number 4 in Italy, this song has brought emma to become really very famous.
The vid is wonderful, emma is sexy, explosive. In addition, there are 2 No-LP track.

This single is great "What Took You So Long","Merry-Go Round",And "(Hey You) Free Up Your Mind" are some of the best pop of 2001.

I LOVE EMMA BUNTON!!.......2001-11-04

Emma Bunton is EVEN cooler than I expected, and this single just says it all (or at least ALMOST; Take My Breath Away is the best song she's done!) But this was a great single to introduce the real Emma to the world. The video is pretty and at the same time wicked (in a GOOD sense, of course! {Mel C. ALWAYS SAYS WICKED [hee hee hee]}) And the B-sides....RULE! I can't even pick a favourite. They're just fun and happy and are guarenteed to get you into a good mood, and are highly danceable.
This is a highly reccomended single, and I ALSO highly reccomend the album...--Your collection just isn't complete without it!

1.What Took You So Long?-This song is perfect.Catchy,dancable,and beautlifuly sung.Not over produced at all.It is simply perfect.

2.(Hey You)Free Up Your Mind-This song is not new.It was featured on the Pokemon in 1999.This is an incredibly catchy pop song.Very dancable.Can easily get stuck in your head.

3.Merry Go Round-This song is pure fun.I am really loving this song.It is fun,dancable pop.

4.This is the video for What Took You So Long?.The video is very cool.Emma looks very good in the video.

All in all this is a must have for all pop fans.This is excelent!!!!

While the outward appearance of Baby Spice has well and truly been shaken off by Emma Bunton, the peppy musical content that reminds us so much of the Spice Girls remains. But that is not to the detriment of 'Free Me'. Emma's voice suits pop and her material is very commercial. Initial releases 'Maybe' and 'Free Me' set a good vibe for the rest of the album. What follows is an upbeat musical experience, with a nice range of material. Emma herself has been responsible for writing songs on 'Free Me' but she has also wisely drawn from the experience of long-time industry professionals like Cathy Dennis and Ray Hedges. With catchy lyrics, the tunes employ a range of instruments, making worthy use of percussion and strings in particular. Emma also successfully plays with different styles, putting a Latino twist on 'Crickets Sing For Anamaria'. Overall, an inspired little package.
