This soundtrack offers a pretty standard mix of new songs, old chestnuts, and excerpts from the score (here by John Debney). On the new tip, Joss Stone and Patti LaBelle engage in an overheated battle of the divas on CD opener "Stir It Up," a bouncy piece of fluff that sounds more like Aretha Franklin circa "Freeway of Love" than classic soul. Other originals include Barenaked Ladies' "One Little Slip" (this movie's answer to Counting Crows' "Accidentally in Love" from Shrek 2) and the Cheetah Girls' peppy-but-bland cover of "Shake Your Tail Feather." But the real highlights are the songs performed by the movie's vocal cast, which includes Joan Cusack, Garry Marshall, Zach Braff, Steve Zahn, and Amy Sedaris. Their group cover of Elton John and Kiki Dee's "Don¹t Go Breaking My Heart," for instance, sounds as if half of them were drunk in the recording studio (and this is meant as a compliment.) Braff's a cappella version of "We Are the Champions" is smashing and Cusack and Zahn's take on the Spice Girls' "Wannabe" is completely demented. My husband bought the Chicken Little movie for our 3 year old (mostly to get us OFF the Cars movie that we all have memorized) and he fell in love with it! He likes to act out the scenes and loves the music. He loves this CD at night when he's going to bed. We all have to dance to One Little Slip (he knows all the words) and then we have to "shake our tail feathers" before he jumps in bed every night! I enjoy the cd too, so it's good for everyone!

My son loved the movie Chicken Little, so we decided to purchase this for him to listen to on his discman. He loves the soundtrack as much as the movie, which made it an awesome investment(especially since the soundtrack has many good singers that aren't too hard on the ears for the adult crowdes either). My son was very happy with this item, and so was I.

I bought the CD to accompany the movie. My four year old watches the movie everyday. When I gave her the CD, after listening to it nightly, she takes it to bed with her everynight where I have to pry it out of her hands after she falls off to sleep. I don't get it, but she does...so it's worth what I paid for it.

My friend owns this single, and I've listened to it a few times before, so I think I can write a good review about it.

"Wannabe" is a catchy tune, that, even though it's not one of my favorite songs, it isn't one of my least favorites.

I don't think I've ever heard "Bumper to Bumper" before, and if I have, I don't remember it.

Being a bass player myself I really enjoyed this cd becuase of the variety of music featured on it! I hope other people can enjoy it and appriciate it as well!

For Doublebass players.......2000-04-30

Nice arrangements, wonderful sound, a wide variety of songs but I wanted to listen more to Gary Karr. The interpretation of Moses Fantasy is better that the one played with the RSO Berlin Orchestra. If you are a DoubleBass player, this is a must. If you aren't, you'll hear what a doublebass can do and how sensitive it could be. I couldn't stop laughing when I heard for the first time the "sarcastic" version of Wannabe. This album is like a Raritie. If your're really looking for a serius album to know better the doublebass, this is not the first one that I'll chose. But it's really fun!

London Double Bass Sound.......2000-04-27

This CD is certainly an interesting concept, however musically speaking it doesn't quite hit the mark that it intended. Fans of Gary Karr should certainly consider buying this CD because his performances are inspiring and the ensemble does a nice job of accompanying, however the selection of repetoire does not always help the bassists' fight for serious recognition. "The Elephant" sounds grotesque enough with only one bass playing it, but here there are four basses on the solo line. The jazz tunes are nice, but lack a certain excitement and the inclusion of the Spice Girls' "Wannabe", as humorous as it may have intended to be, may set the double bass back a few steps in the eyes of the general, non bass playing public.

Spice Girls ruled the charts back-in-the-day and paved the way for many more bubble gum pop stars such as Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, N Sync (who now seem to tell lies about how they're "original" but that's not the point of my review), Christina Aguilera etc. I bought this CD of course for the hit single, "Wannabe." I loved it and still do. BUT the true gem on this CD (not available on SPICE from where "Wannabe" came from) is "Bumpter To Bumper." This song rocks! I don't know why but it's my favorite Spice Girls song next to "2 Become 1." If you're looking for another cool single to buy check out their most recent "Holler." It is somewhat similar to this tight song! BUMPER TO BUMPER ALL THE WAY!!!

AWESOME DEBUT SINGLE.......2001-04-18

The Spice Girls have debuted in the music industry with this wicked sounding single "Wannabe" which has sat at #1 in the UK for 7 weeks. The beat is a little bit too addictive and the sales have shown exactly what people thought of the single. Let's have a synopsis, shall we?

1) WANNABE (RADIO EDIT)- Brilliant, but simple, blend of pop and rap. The lyrics are very easy and the girls have great voices to display. It's not a very long song, as it does not top even the 3 minute mark. This song got massive amounts of air play back in 96 and 97 and this is probably the girls' most memorable hit.

2) BUMPER TO BUMPER- The exclusive B-Side of this single which is awesome. I don't understand why it didn't make it to the album. It is a great pop song with a touch of R&B. It's a definite feel-good song. Although it didn't make it to the album, it was perfect for the single.

3) WANNABE (VOCAL SLAM)- This remix of Wannabe is an upbeat, techno-like mix. It's okay to listen to, but it's not a dance song at all. It's fast listening, which makes it sort of hard to like. On a perfect single, this mix would have been either a club mix or something in that order.

This single is absolutely awesome and should definitely be considered for picking up if you're a fan of pop/rap or if you are a big fan of the song "Wannabe."

Actually pretty good (I'm the first review *YES*).......2005-06-15

An up and coming band from Southern Ontario. Lead singer & founding member Bob Reid says "Like us or not, you can't ignore us!" Kick ass live show, and the record doesn't disappoint. If you like hard rock you will like it, and *GASP* the lyrics are actually good, too. No, it is not all screaming. You may have heard the songs "Won't Go Quietly" (heavy radio play across Ontario) or "Big Cannons" (theme song for Brad's Friday Night Basement Party) without knowing it. These guys were already honoured on VH1.

This is a great debut, not too heavy, and I would expect that any rock fan would appreciate it. Whether you like hardcore, metal, punk, or rock & roll, it will have something for you to enjoy. So why didn't I give it 5 stars? I would only do that for a CD that I am obsessed with, one that I would DIE without, and I'm not that type of person...I don't feel that way about any music, even the albums I love most, so the fact that I gave it 4 stars does not mean that it's lacking anything.

No matter if you get in on it now or wait until they are household names, you will want this.
