Primordial Soup

Editorial Reviews

Sidewalk.com, July 12, 1999
This unique Seattle ensemble plays artsy pop rock in the vein of Toad the Wet Sprocket and Big Head Todd and The Monsters. With three lead singer-songwriters sharing creative duties, they combine sweet-natured melodies and country-tinged mandolin and harmonica into a fun, lively...sound.

Product Description
A heaping cauldron of organic folk rock. Seattle-based Big Spoon features six players, with a rich combination of vocal harmonies, acoustic and electric guitars and soaring harmonica and mandolin. Primordial Soup, the band's debut CD, roots its way through rurual landscapes and urban love to reveal moments of unfettered emotion.

In a nutshell these guys are the total package, for anyone who saw them barbershop at the CD release party you know they are all that and a can of corn. Please don't tour with anyone too big fellas, put out 5 more albums and play the Tractor Tavern in Ballard every month. This album will grow on you and make you want to buy it for all your friends.....

As former Big Spoon fan club president, I was fortunate to find this band early on, when all they had was a four-track and a dream. Nice job, Will!

These guys have talent, these guys have style. They've definitely found a sound that skillfully merges some great musical genres. Dang, I wish we had bands like this in New York.

A fantastic album--beautiful harmonies coupled with down-home melodies. An album for rainy weekends and even, curiously, late night parties. (I played the album a few times at soirees I hosted and got several thumbs up.) Check it out.
