5 out of 5 stars Dance music at wedding.......2007-06-08

Very good music for dance music at a wedding. Especially if you want slow songs and the Classic 40's and 50's music. Great!!!

5 out of 5 stars classic.......2007-04-18

From the late great Luther Vandross to Etta James, this Cd has a Truly great Variety of classic wedding type songs. You can just about play it from beginning to end. Classics like "you're the best thing that's ever happened to me"is the perfect song for a couple that has been together for many years and is finally tying the knot!( ideal for an Anniversary song too! ) "At last" is a ditto and is perfect for the recessional..."Thru the fire" by Chaka Khan is a beautiful ode to the love of your life that says...U will have a partner thru thick and thin...another classic that must be mentioned is Anne murray's "could i have this dance"...mother/ son dance=this one is perfect for! Taylor Dayne's "I'll always love you" is as pretty of a song as i've ever heard aswell as "You are my Lady"...perfect for a first dance. "You're the inspiration" has been used for the father/daughter dance at several of my weddings ...Ok ...and of course it has Heatwave's "always and forever" on it too...a classic at any wedding. From top to bottom this Cd has Magic!

3 out of 5 stars OK love song CD.......2006-10-04

Bought this CD for ideas for songs in my wedding. I was a little disapointed that it didn't give me good ideas for my wedding. It had better songs on it just for classic love songs.

5 out of 5 stars Love songs - Wedding songs.......2006-02-26

Being a romantic person this is a great CD. Light the candles, serve with italian food, good red wine, with the CD playing and you will have a great combination. Even without the food this is a great CD to sing along to..at home or in the car. don't pass this one up!

3 out of 5 stars A Helpful CD.......2006-02-03

This CD is OK and I did like the fact that
"At Last" by Etta James is on it
I also was glad to finally find on amazon
"A Song For My Son" for the mother groom dance and
"A Song For My Daughter" for our father bride dance.
I heard samples of these songs at www.new-wedding-traditions.com
Thanks amazon.com

5 out of 5 stars The best RnB Album of All Time!!!.......2007-04-22

This is the most amazing RnB album of all time, bar none. It is funny though how slept on the best song of the entire collection was/is: "U + I". When I get married, this is going to be my wedding song, and I still bump this song at least once a day. Amazing lyrics, great delivery, true classic album, that still resonates today. We need someone to revive RnB like Jodeci. Looking forward to their comeback in '08. Trust me, buy this album and just loop it, over and over! Damon Vailati, Delray Beach, Florida/Fairfax, Virginia

5 out of 5 stars I love Jodeci.......2007-04-03

Old school Jodeci is the best! Devante and Mr.Dalvin made the group!

3 out of 5 stars Maybe a little above average?.......2007-02-20

I'm not usually too harsh on my critiques with CD's, so this one rates somewhere between decent and good. The title track, "Forever My Lady" is a nice slow jam, but there's not too much beyond that. "Come And Talk To Me" hit the charts back then, so that's a nice track to get you back in the nostalgic days of the early '90's. Aside from those two tracks, there isn't too much to rave about. Jodeci does their best in ballad form, so I'm not a big fan of their faster, more up-tempo, tracks. But, if you prefer their faster tracks, this might rate a little higher for your taste. For me, I think I prefer their compilation album than this one.

5 out of 5 stars Jodeci is smooth.......2007-02-20

In the 80's this was what all teenagers listened too...now this is what they should listen to because of all the smooth sounds it just puts you in the mood when that special person comes home. Thanks Amazon

5 out of 5 stars Instruments of the Orchestra - Great Reference Material!.......2007-04-04

This set lends itself to greatly enhancing one's knowledge of the orchestra, instruments in it, and their usage. I am a huge music buff, and I still picked up a great deal I previously did not know. I highly recommend this for all who wish to understand the origin of music, as well as the processes that are employed to create music!

5 out of 5 stars Beginner or Expert.......2007-03-12

This CD is excellent for the beginner or expert! To be able to haear the instrumets separately and then together really provides a good education. and/or refresher. The book thaty comes with the CD is alomost worth the price by itself!

5 out of 5 stars Very Informative and Enjoyable.......2006-11-20

Whether you're a music novice or pro, "The instruments of the Orchestra" is a very worthwhile purchase. The 7 CDs, with a total of 8 hours, are expertly narrated by Jeremy Siepmann. He's a great speaker, very much like the late Leonard Bernstein was. Mr. Siepmann takes you on an unforgetable musical journey covering the origins and use of the various orchestral instruments throughout musical history. The balance between his narration and a wealth of musical examples, which range from snippets to entire movements, is superb. The comprehensive enclosed booklet is excellent and faithfully follows the 7 CDs in content. Even with my 40+ years of music training I still learned new things from this wonderful collection. Considering the excellence of the content, and a cost that translates to about $5 per disc, this collection is a great value. Grab it, you won't regret that you did. Five solid stars!

3 out of 5 stars Frank's view.......2006-08-19

This boxed set of CD's with booklet achieved all I had hoped that it would. There are good samples of individual instruments and well done commentary on each. The only drawback was that some of the samples were too brief and could have been longer, hoiwever I guess this fits in with time constraints of the medium. It has given me a lot of clues as to future purchases of CD's for listening to individual instruments. Altogeth a satisfactory purchase and a welcome addition to my collection.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Intro for Those Not Familiar with the Orchestra.......2003-11-08

I've listened to classical music for years and am interested in composition. I bought this CD set to learn how an orchestra and its instruments work. I thought the CDs would be a nice but boring lecture. They aren't! Not only are they FUN but they are informative as well. I learned a huge amount from each CD and couldn't wait to listen to the next one.

The narrator and writer is a great speaker and holds your attention well. He is definitely knowledgeable. He provides musical examples for each point he makes, so you get to "hear" what he just talked about. I'd say the CDs are about 65% music and 35% narration. You'll learn about the range of instruments, some history, different ways to play them, how they sound, and how they are used in the orchestra. This CD set was a great learning experience and is sold at such a low price!

I recommend this CD for those who want to learn about classical music and those who know about it but are interested in learning more about the inner workings of an orchestra. You'll learn much useful information. For instance, the Rite of Spring (with that eerie start) is written for bassoon! I never knew a bassoon could sound like that but now I do.

The one complaint I have is the last CD. This deals with the orchestra. I wanted more of a tour of how the orchestra has been used through history up to the present. Instead, it was a tour of how different groups of instruments sound. I thought it could have been better. The other 6 CDs are excellent.

Who could ever forget such classic songs such as "The Groove Line","Always and Forever",Eyeballin', and "Boogie Nights"? This band truly covered the R&B charts with these top hits, and made their mark in the annals of the music world. These songs have stood the test of time and are still very popular today as they were back then. One of the things the listener will find is the band was very well rounded and was very diverse in their musical talents. From start to finish, this album will definately get your hands clapping and your toes tapping.

5 out of 5 stars This CD is incredible..........2007-01-12

How can you miss with songs like Grooveline, Boogie Nights and Always and Forever?!?! Heatwave generated some of their own heat in the 80's and this compilation CD captures the best of their talents.

5 out of 5 stars Heatwave Brought The Heat.......2006-10-17

Heatwave were the thang during the late '70s. Dance music was at it's height and "The Groove Line" flew up the charts. It became one of their biggest hits and one of the biggest records that year. You couldn't go to a club without hearing "The Groove Line" or "Boogie Nights". Of course they had more singles outside their dance cuts. "Always & Forever" one of their most enduring hits ever. The song became a major popular hit among R&B fans. It's a out the box classic slowjam and many people have later used the record for their weddings. "Mind Blowing Decisions" is one of their smoothest singles and "Ain't No Half Steppin" became a popular radio aired track during it's album release and it has also been used as a standard for Hip-Hop sampling. Get the album if your a fan of old school love songs with meaningful lyrics great singing or dance music but if you're just looking for some great music, this album is good for any music collection.

5 out of 5 stars Forever More - James Ingram.......2007-01-10

This cd showed different sides of James Ingram. His versatility came alive in the different styles of singing these love songs.
His choice of partners for duets added to the emotions of some songs. This is a great collection of music from a seasoned performer.

James Ingram has always been One of my All time Favorite Artists. Vocally He brings so much depth&Soul. I enjoy the way he tackles various songs&the way he handles arrangements. I enjoyed his take on R.Kelly's Classic "I believe I Can Fly". James Ingram is a very talented Musician&he always leaves His signature tone on any song he does be it a Original or a Cover, He is truly a Great Musical Talent. this is a Cool Collection.

    5 out of 5 stars Forever Fantastic.......2005-09-03

James Ingram's voice is velvet. The songs on this CD are forever beautiful and romantic.

2 out of 5 stars Get 'Power of Great Music" instead. this has rerecordings!.......2005-04-16

Three of James' biggest hits, Just Once, One Hundred Ways and I Don't Have the Heart are all RERECORDED!!!! Why do they do that? It's not even listed on the CD, but on the inside only after you've bought the CD, opened it, and can't bring it back! Besides, most of the tracks are the same as on the Best of CD, although there are some previously unreleased tunes on this one. Of course, there are also some gems on the Best of that are missing from this one.

5 out of 5 stars Classic, Timeless, Priceless .......2004-11-17

If I could have anyone sing @ my next wedding & as Nat Cole is in heaven, it would be James Ingraham. I have renewed a relationship (after loosing my husband very unexpectedly 11/03/03) & we both have discovered many things about each other including how much we love James Ingraham and one of our all time favorite movies is "Best Friends" with the song "How Do you Keep the Music Playing?" I would have him sing his songs with John Tesh "Forever More" and "Give Me Foreever, I Do." Talk about dream wedding.

When I first heard "I Want Her" from this 1987 recording, I dropped what I was doing and ran to a record store. The single is the prototype for what Teddy Riley, who did the drum and keyboard programming on the song, would call "New Jack Swing." It has hip-hop's rhythmic chatter and R&B's fierce uptempo drive. Although Riley contributes to most of the songs on this disc, Sweat has a different direction in mind. He aspires to be--and with future releases became--the king of the slow jam. His warm, deep tenor and his intelligently crafted songs set the standard for the pre-Maxwellian loverman. --Martin Johnson

5 out of 5 stars Make It Last Forever.........and ever.......2007-05-25

I am not the biggest Keith Sweat fan but this is by far the best LP he put out. Standout songs include "Right and a Wrong Way", "How Deep is Your Love", "I Want Her", "In the Rain" and the title track. This a New Jack Swing classic by perhaps the genre's best singer.

5 out of 5 stars Excllent Debut That Has Yet To Be Topped.......2006-12-29

As a DJ my favorite type of music hands down in New Jack Swing. In the years from 1987-1888 it seemed that every New Jack Swing CD that was released was A-1 and was the type of disc you could put in and let ride out to the last song. Produced by Teddy Riley, Keith Sweat's debut, Make It Last Forever, exploded all over urban and pop stations and remains the brightest star in Sweat's galaxy of LPs. Sweat's pleading, whining tenor adroitly draws you into every song, demanding an emotional commitment. Who can't relate to "Something Just Ain't Right" and "Right and a Wrong Way," two tense, stunning realizations. The hip-hop beats and plucky guitar of "I Want Her" put new jack swing on the map; it was Sweat's first single release and can still pack a dance floor. All eight tracks are impressive, with his rendition of Tony Hester's "In the Rain," popularized by the Dramatics, equaling and possibly surpassing the original.

5 out of 5 stars Keith Sweat got it right the first time, best album!.......2006-06-25

The whole album is butter. A lot of babies were probably made off of this. The difference between Make it last Forever and the rest of Keith career is that he macking on this album. The rest of his career he resorted to straight begging to get the cooch. Personal favorites are every song for real. This is an R&B slow jam standard.

5 out of 5 stars Takes me back!!!.......2006-04-19

I purchased this CD from a seller man2godforever last Friday and it came today like promised, thanks man2godforever, I'm listening to it right now on my computer, sounds really good.

5 out of 5 stars I wish Make It Last Forever, would last forever @}->---.......2006-03-18

Make It Last Forever is probably my second favourite R 'n B song ever (after My My My). It is such a beautiful song and so is this entire album. I've been a fan of Keith's from the beginning and I still go back to this. I Want Her is probably the next best cut on the album, but in reality - it's all good. This is the King of New Jack and nobody does it better than Keith. Make It Last Forever should be in every r'n b fan's collection. I had to go and re-buy this on cd because the cassette I had was wearing thin because after each time Make It Last Forever finished, I'd keep winding it back. I highly recommend this cd. Amazing.

This is the definitive Greatest Hits collection from the best selling girl group of all time. The current success of R&B and rap owes a great deal to TLC - their sound, creativity, and personality changed the face of pop/R&B forever. Lisa Lopes' tragic death unfortunately means that this will be the last album from one of the greatest and best selling urban/pop acts of our generation. 'Now & Forever - The Hits' includes over 75 minutes of classic TLC smash hits such as 'Waterfalls', 'Creep', 'No Scrubs', plus 'Unpretty' and features work by superstar producers such as Jermaine Dupri, Dallas Austin, LA Reid, Babyface, Rodney Jerkins, She'kspere, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, and The Neptunes. The US release has been pushed back until early next year. BMG. 2003.

    1 out of 5 stars Hit & Miss.......2007-07-05

There are only 4 reasons for TLC fans to get this compilation:
"Get It Up" from the 1993 film "Poetic Justice"
"No Scrubs" - radio/video version with rap
"Come Get Some" - featuring Lil' Jon with Sean Paul of YoungBloodZ
"Whoop De Woo" - a "previously unreleased" track

The other 15 songs are from TLC's four albums, appearing in album edit form - they are the same as the album versions, only shortened and/or censored. It does not include single/radio/video versions of "Baby-Baby-Baby" or "Hat 2 Da Back". The remix to "Kick Your Game" (featuring Craig Mack) is not included either; nor are any collaborations ("What It Ain't (Ghetto Enuff)" with Goodie MOb) or b-sides ("My Secret Enemy"). (And the radio-played "I'm Good at Being Bad", "Dear Lie", and "Miss You" are not included either.)

Rather than "The Hits", this compilation should have been entitled "The Singles & More" - but not ALL the singles, since "Hands Up" is not included. The inclusion of "In Your Arms Tonight" and "Turntable" seem rather random, since there are tronger tracks from 2002's "3D".

The two "new tracks" are nothing special. "Whoop De Woo" is notable only because it include a rap by Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes; "Come Get Some" is a Lil' Jon track with T-Boz singing the verses.

The song "I Bet" from the "reality show" competition "R U the Girl?" appears as a bonus track only on the 2005 re-release of this 2003 compilation release.

Unless explicitly bought for the four non-album tracks, this CD is not recommended to TLC fans who already have the other 15 songs in their superior album versions on the original albums.

5 out of 5 stars A Big taste of Nostalgia.......2006-12-20

Ever had any group just "pop" into your head while you were absolutely doing nothing?! Such was the case for me a couple of days ago while I was (*groan*) going through my CD tower. I came across TLC's "Ooh, On the TLC Tip" CD, and thought surely these gals must have a "best of" collection somewhere. So, it was follow the yellow brick road to Amazon.com...

I don't believe I've enjoyed a CD this much in a long time. Every song was absolutely delightful; however, the cut of "Hat To The Back" is different than the one that's on "Ooh, On the TLC Tip", and I prefer that one more because it's WAY funkier. I also really enjoyed "Get It Up." That is a jam and a half!

It is so sad to think how this great female group (one of the best ever, in my opinion) was torn apart by the unfortunate and untimely death of Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez. They were all beautiful in their own way, and each contributed just as much as the other to the music. It is a shame the group's ending came about the way it did. That should prove to everyone not to take ANY day for granted; it may be your last.

I miss TLC, but this CD will help keep them all alive and in my heart for a very long time! This one's a keeper guys!!

    5 out of 5 stars The end.......2006-04-24

Man, it's been almost 4 years since Left Eye passed away, 4 years since the end of TLC... As T-Boz, I wish their end could've been different, but things happen for a reason... Heaven only knows.
This album is amazing, mostly of their hits. Including the must-listening "No Scrubs", "Unpretty", "Creep", "Waterfalls" and others. Destiny's Child and others would not exist if it wasn't for our forever-loved TLC.
There's 2 new tracks and a couple of missing songs such as "Dear lie", "Shock dat monkey", "Hands up" and some others.
This could've been released with a DVD including their videos, but I heard that a DVD was recently released. Another issue came when I found edited/censored songs "Silly h*", and "No scrubs" fades too quickly. Anyway the CD is one of the best Greatest Hits albums of all time.

TLC was the group! This show cases what the music industry is missing. Songs with messages and solid harmony. Songs can be sexy but still tasteful. They can have a message and still sell records. Unpretty, Waterfalls and Red Light Special are all examples of great music! This group will and already is truly missed.

4 out of 5 stars LUTHER SURE LOOKED DIFFERENT BACK IN THE EARLY DAYS..........2007-03-26

... having worked for a prominent cosmetic surgeon, I tend to spot facial details that most people miss... for instance, Luther's ears here appear to be quite close to his head, while photos in more recent years make them appear to be more prominent... also, he had a more masculine look to his face here, but later in his career he appeared far more feminine-looking... these are just observations, not criticisms - none of this changes the fact that he was an awesome vocalist who, like Prince, wore many hats in the recording of his albums, serving as singer-songwriter-arranger-producer, although I would have loved to hear him pair up with Quincy Jones at least once just to see what they could have come up with together.

5 out of 5 stars Luther Forever And Always.......2007-03-25

'Forever,For Always,For Love' is Luther's critical sophmore release from 1982.Luther Vandross is very much going out of his way to fasion a grand soul epic with this release where even the uptempo songs have a very cinematic feel to them. All eight of these longish songs are wonderful, beautiful and hoplessly romantic as always. My favorites are of course "Bad Boy/Having A Party",'You're The Sweetest One" and "She Gives Love Back",all of which are peppy dance tunes with great hooks and each one had an elegant house party atmosphere. The title cut is very beautiful and also extrodinarily melodramatic. And Luther REALLY lets his soul bare on "Since I Lost My Baby".As opposed to David Ruffin's more tortured tone on the original Luther gives the song a lot more meloncaughly and sadness. On the album cover Luther is leaning cowly up at you almost as if to say "come inside because I've got some great stories to tell".And this is an inviting album-Luther shares his musical and lyrical concepts of love and human relationships here and all the RSVP's are sent out.As always he makes the best use of Marcus Miller as writing partner and crucial bassist and keeps his links strong to classic R&B.This creamy smooth album stands somewhat in contrast to the slightly more groove oriented sounds of Never Too Much and Busy Body which this is sandwiched between but certainly being in the middle can be a wonderful advantage.

5 out of 5 stars Continuation of the First Album.......2006-08-06

Luther keeps the great R+B songs coming. No sophmore jinx.
Just as good if not better than "Never Too Much".

    Bad Bad/Having a Party-Night time.Party Groove.Feel good song.

Sweetest One-Lady so sweet. While u groove to the beat

Since I lost my Baby-Another great remake in Luther's repertoire.

Forever,For Always,For Love-A Nice slow jam.One of Luther's Best. Goin' thru the motions of love

Better Love-Sometimes the grass may seem greener on the other side. But he can't love u like me.Great tune

She Loves Me Back-Song about communicating wit' your lady

Promise Me-A Song of Plea about forever love

Once you know how-Everybody has the ability to fall in love.
    It's easy to do.

The Second in what I like to call "Gettin' to know Luther trilogy"Which are his first four albums. They sum up the fact that he's "LUTHER"

4 out of 5 stars Luther, for always.......2004-10-14

Luther's sophomore release is every bit as exceptional as his debut outing, which was a tour de force itself. Luther was on his way to proving that he was finest male vocalist of the eighties, and this highly consistent, tightly-woven recording showcases his other considerable talents as well. The bravura medley of "Bad Boy" and "Having A Party" was the first track to prove that Luther has an undeniable gift for merging two seemingly different compositions, and actually making it work seamlessly. Luther's amazing versatile is really evident on this album, where he proves he can master nearly any emotion from the optimism of the delightful "She Loves Me Back," to the desperation of the intense "Promise Me."

No matter the tempo, Luther always instinctively knows how to interpret a song. The loosely-rendered title track, in particular, could have been a mess in the hands of a less capable performer, but the song is nothing less than stunning when graced with Luther's golden timbre and effortless phrasing.. And as always, his cover of choice (this time Smokey Robinson's "Since I Lost My Baby") gives both his vocal and his emotional range a thrilling showcase. The record-buying support from Luther's cult of fans continued with FOREVER, FOR ALWAYS, FOR LOVE, and the album hit #20 on the Hot 200 and was certified Platinum.

NOTE: Also in 1982, Luther produced Cheryl Lynn's album ISTANT LOVE, and he lended his voice to a cover duet of the Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrel classic "If This World Were Mine" (#4 R&B). The single was a major R&B hit, but once again failed to make any impact on the Hot 100.

    4 out of 5 stars TLC's True Top 10 Tracks..........2005-07-15

    10. Red Light Special
Baby, it's yours! Just like other songs, TLC put classy in nasty! Babyface is another producer (after Dallas Austin and Organized Noize) that just blend with TLC almost perfectly. From Chilli's high and strong vocals, to T-Boz's smooth, scruffy, and edgy voice, to the high strings of the electric guitar throughout the entire song, this song had to be included in the top ten. TLC at their [ballad] finest.

    09. Bad By Myself
The second best song off of their debut album, Ooooooohhh...On The TLC Tip, the song includes verse after verse after rap after rap of good, high-energy fun. Lisa's been giving very few chances of rapping twice in one song, but when she does it, oh, my heart flutters like a kcufing butterfly! Her rap(s) is/are actually the focal point and highlight of the entire song, however, it doesn't make the song, there's a difference. The second, much better than the first, opens with a lengthy tongue twister that eventually leads up to the finally of the song, while all throughout it your just in awe of Lisa's actual talent.

    08. If They Knew
From the beginning to the end, you're captivated. TLC's dark songs have got to be their best. Nothing like darkness in R&B that does nothing but keep you entertained and coming back for me. All three girls included. Produced by DA. `nough said.

    07. Waterfalls
Who doesn't know this song? Or even not like the song for that matter? It's brilliant. The song contains of Lisa's best and most inspirational raps of her entire career. The song also contains a power message, like a lot of TLC's songs, but the way it was written gives it much more esteem & prestige than most of their other inspirational songs. T-Boz's voice, Chilli's harmonies and background vocals, and Lisa's rap all blend together beautifully and flawlessly. CLASSIC.

    06. This Is How It Works
Doesn't appear on any of their albums (only the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack) but ever since I first heard the song in '96 I fell in love. The song is sexual and provocative, but classy all at the same time. TLC always had that going for them and this song demonstrates how classy they can be while still being nasty. Genius.

    05. FanMail
What a way to start off an album after a 5-year break. I mean, they use samples of Lisa speaking from a 5-year-old interview for chrissakes! BRILLIANT! The entire song, the "internet" and "futuristic" feel to the song lays the groundwork and the path for the entire album. Another classic from Mr. Austin, they're like a freaking hand in glove.

    04. Creep
T-Boz's song! Yes, it's just her, but why not market it as TLC? It's so close to their top song that it's unbelievable. The verses, the chorus, the breakdown...many people like the version with Lisa's rap but in all honesty, nothing can beat the album version. The music is what makes the song; listening to any other music just doesn't keep the song's originality. How many R&B songs have freaking trumpets and percussion as the main instrument? Produced by Dallas Austin. As Chilli once stated, "[Dallas Austin and TLC] just mesh well together."

    03. Diggin' On You (L.A.'s Live Remix)
TLC's greatest remix ever. The introduction is powerful, electric and actually makes you feel like you're watching these women perform live. It's completely brand-new for TLC. There's so much life and vibrant emotion coming from this song that it makes you almost feel cheated when you listen to the album version. Thankfully, LaFace used this for the video, which would only make sense.

    02. What About Your Friends
How many of you have ever had trouble with so-called "friends" who backstab you and leave you when the going gets rough? We all have! TLC know how to pick a subject, make it catchy, creative, and also fun, all at the same time. Come on, Lisa raps the same rap 2 times on this song, that's just great. Another track featuring all three members, which is never a bad combination.

    01. Sumthin' Wicked This Way Comes
This is, without a doubt, the greatest TLC song of all time. Not to mention my favorite song of all time, period. The guest appearance by Dre (a.k.a. Andre 3000 of OutKast) is absolutely perfect and introduces the song flawlessly with his backwards cursing and quick delivery of a great message. Produced by Organized Noize ("Waterfalls"), who just so happen to do wonders with TLC, this song is one of their darkest and edgiest. The fact that all three girls are on this song and the message is strong and delivered exceptionally is just a few of the reasons this song is classic. TLC know how to deliver messages, always have and always will, but the dark feel and creative flow of the song make it the best.

    5 out of 5 stars listen up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!TLC FANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2005-06-30

    3 out of 5 stars Not bad.......2005-03-06

GOOD: Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg, What About Your Friends, Hat 2 Da Back, Waterfalls, No Scrubs, Girl Talk.
AVERAGE: Damaged, Unpretty, Baby-Baby-Baby, Silly Ho, Come Get Some.
    BAD: Everything else.

4 out of 5 stars Definitely their best-but one big, BIG mistake was made.......2005-01-23

TLC was certainly in a league of their own-they were one of the earliest girl groups to truly make it big, and yet they always lacked the modest class and velvety vocals of later girl groups like Destiny's Child. In their debut, they were the tomboyish partiers fresh out of Bel Air. By 'CrazySexyCool,' they were in their best stage-confident, elegant R&B divas. The street-ready, foul-mouthed, venomous fury of both 'Fanmail' and '3D' was both an improvement and a regression for the girls-they cranked out some irresistibly funky beats during that time, but their lyrics started getting uncomfortably trashy. Their personal lives also started getting downright disturbing-problems with the law, sex tapes, and the shocking death of Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes. Like all artists, the image and the hype will have to be shoved in the backseat in order to truly see, understand and enjoy the music for what it is. The collection starts out nice, with hits from TLC's debut, such as the explosive party jam "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg" and uniquely hooky "Hat 2 Da Back." The lovely ballad "Waterfalls," of course, is another treat. The creators of the compilation made a fatal error in not including the original version of "No Scrubs," and instead including a 'rap version' with randomly inserted 'uh's and 'yeah's in the background and an irritating rap sequence towards the end, which I assume is an all-too-unnecessary tribute to the departed rapper Lisa. This is particularly frustrating because "No Scrubs" might have been TLC's biggest hit ever, and in my opinion it is their best song ever. Its infectious hook and sassy beats stay in tact, but the original version should not have been tampered with. That alone strips this release of one star. "Girl Talk" is the supposed sequel to "No Scrubs," but its relentlessly brutal lyrics are far less justified in their complaints. While the girls have a right to say they won't get with a guy that has no money, no job and no ambition, "Girl Talk" viciously puts down men who are *ahem* physically underdeveloped. If you can filter through the farcical lyrics, however, you will unearth a song that deserves to be appreciated for its irresistibly hooky funk, not its words. The almost-catchy "Damaged" and "Whoop De Woo" just pale in comparison to truly excellent jams like "No Scrubs" and "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg," and as a result you feel a sense of emptiness once track 12 is over. "Turntable" has beautiful lyrics, but its beat just doesn't impress me. And it becomes difficult to take TLC's pep talks seriously after hearing their sniping tongues diss all kinds of people in tracks like "Silly Ho," "Quickie," "Girl Talk," and "No Scrubs." Regardless, no one can deny that these girls have produced some funky beats and infectious hooks, making this ultimately a worthwhile buy. Hardcore fans will probably be upset that "I'm Good At Being Bad" and "If I Was Your Girlfriend" are missing, but I think neither one is particularly needed. TLC's best moments are here (though one is rearranged a bit), making it a necessity for fans and the only album to buy if you're a casual fan.

    5 out of 5 stars GREAT!!!!.......2004-09-20

I LOVE THIS GROUP. FIRST, OFF RIP LISA. I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED THIS GROUP. I WISH THAT THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE SUCCESSFUL. I UNDERSTAND WHY THESE TWO GIRLS DECIDED TO BREAKUP. BUT, T-BOZ SINGS WELL BY HERSELF AND SHE HAD SANG A SONG:I TOUCH MYSELF ON THE SOUNDTRACK TO "FLED". IT IS A NICE CUT. SHE SANG GET IT UP ALONE AND SHE COVERED PRINCE'S GIRLFRIEND VERY WELL. I LIKED TLC'S STYLE AND THEIR MUSIC. BUT CRAZY, SEXY,COOL, AND OOH ON THE TLC TIP ARE MY FAVORITE ALBUMS DONE BY THE GIRLS. FAN MAIL THE ONLY SONG I LIKED WAS "SILLY HO". BUT ON CRAZY, SEXY,COOL, AND OOH ON THE TLC TIP IT WERE VERY GOOD AND FUN ALBUMS. I ENJOYED THE INTERLUDES THAT WERE ON THE ALBUMS. BUT IN MY OPINION CRAZY, SEXY, COOL WAS MY FAVORITE ALBUM DONE BY THE GIRLS. I REMEMBER LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY I HAD GOT THIS CD FOR X-MAS. MY SISTER HAD BOUGHT THIS CD FOR ME . I REMEMBER WHEN CREEP HAD CAME OUT. I LIKE THIS COMPILATION ALSO, I RECOMMEND ANY TLC FAN TO GET THIS ALBUM YOU WOULD DEFINTELY ENJOY IT. EITHER T-BOZ AND CHILI SHOULD FORM A GROUP TOGETHER OR EITHER THEY SHOULD DO SOME PRODUCING,SONGWRTITING, OR SOLO PROJECTS BECAUSE THEY DON'T NEED TO WASTE THEIR TALENT. I THINK THAT THEY WOULD DO WELL SINGING SOLO. MY FAVORITE SONGS ON THIS ALBUM ARE: WATERFALLS, DIGGIN ON YOU, RED LIGHT SPECIAL, AINT TOO PROUD,KICK YOUR GAME, CREEP, SILLY HO, GET IT UP, HAT 2 DA BACK, and WHAT ABOUT YOUR FRIENDS. I THINK A FEW SONGS ARE MISSING: DAS THE WAY WE LIKE EM, SHOCK DAT MONKEY, AND OTHERS. OVERALL THIS IS A GREAT ALBUM AND IT IS A MUST HAVE FOR ANY TLC FAN.
