Truly A Winning Combination.......2001-08-03

If you are looking for a comprehensive overview of either Vesta's or Ce Ce Peniston's careers, this is not the way to go. Although the song choices are very good, A&M just did not cover enough ground on this CD. Luckily, for Ce Ce Peniston fans, a Best Of package was recently released. A&M has failed to give Vesta that same honor. While Vesta's career has been longer and far more successful than Ce Ce's, we have yet to see a Greatest Hits package from the singer. Which is really a shame. Vesta is one of the best vocalists in the music industry. All you have to do an take a listen to "Congratulations", "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" and "Special" to see why Vesta's four A&M albums were so popular among R&B music fans. This CD is noteworthy because it contains a couple of long out of print songs from Vesta's 1986 self-titled debut CD. "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" and "Sweet Thang" are some of the best songs she has recorded and it refreshing to see them finally available again on CD. You won't be dissappointed with this CD. There is some fabulous music contained here and for such a cheap price, you can't beat it!

Review of cool 80s music by Dagger Dias.......2005-11-12

This is a good cd. It is one of the better ones out there, I had never heard of the scorpions before.... and the only reason I knew the name whitesnake was because of a family guy episode where Meg had no idea what whitesnake was and asked Lois what the heck whitesnake was.... but I thought they sounded interesting so I decided I would give this cd a shot and wow this is incredible music right here. There are half of the songs on this cd are by whitesnake and the other half are by the scorpions.

1- Here I Go Again (Whitesnake) 9/10
This song starts out a little boring but gets awesome afterwards! 2nd best on the cd!

2- Is This Love (Whitesnake) 7/10
This one is pretty good, not boring but not perfect either.

3- Now Your Gone (Whitesnake) 7/10
This one is a little better than "Is This Love".

4- Hungry For Love (Whitesnake) 6/10
I don't like the chrorus that much, but great otherwise!

5- Love Aint No Stranger (Whitesnake) 5/10
I haven't lisetened to this one all that much, but it sounds alright. Medium.

6- Rock You Like A Hurricane (Scorpions) 8/10
Awesome song!

7- Wind Of Change (Scorpions) 8/10
A very relaxing song. Good to listen to when you are sad.

8- Tease Me Please Me (Scorpions) 5/10
I don't listen to this one very much, but its good.

9- Send Me An Angel (Scorpions) 5/10
Another that I do not listen to all too often, not bad though!

10- No One Like You (Scorpions) 9999/10
Now we come to my favorite song, not just on this cd, but OF ALL TIME! This is quite possibly the greatest song ever made! I could listen to it for hours upon hours, and not get sick of it. This song is perfect for listening to if you are feeling lonesome because it reminds you of how there is "no one like" the perfect one, and how they are out there. BEST SONG I HAVE EVER HEARD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!!!!!! (which is why it got such a ridiculously high score, it really is that good!)

So that ends my review for this cd. If you still do not think you will like it, listen to "Here I Go Again" or "No One Like You" and then you will see how rock music truly is heading down the drain because these guys back in the days of 80s hair bands, they knew how to really play.

switch & debarge cd review.......2006-07-15

This CD has edited versions that are all cut short to save money. The " I call your name cut " is half as long as you would hear it on the radio! DONT BUY THIS CD! You'll be disappointed. Even the used Cd store would not buy it from me and I only listened to it once.

Can't go wrong for 6 dollars.......2005-10-06

For the price this is recommended. The Debarge tracks are from the their 2nd and 4th albums. No tracks from the excellent "In a Special Way" Album are included. "All this Love" and "Who's Holding Donna Now" are ballads that display the El Debarge vocals at their best. "Rythym of the Night" was a top ten hit in 1985 with a latin feel and the primary reason many of you will consider buying this CD. The good news is that it is the original uncut version that you heard on radio unlike the remixed version found on The Ultimate Debarge Album.

As for Switch, if you haven't heard of them you are missing out on one of the best and most diverse late 1970s acts. The connection with Debarge is that the two oldest siblings (Bobby and Tommy) were in the switch group with Bobby's stunning vocals possibly better than evel El's. The slow jamz "There'll Never Be" and "I Call Your Name" are classics, although they are both cut versions here. "Best Beat in Town" is late 70s disco nirvana and track #9 "Calling on All Girls" is hard to find and not included on their greatest hits compilation.

Very Good Collection.......2006-06-18

Two of the Best Vocalists over the past 30 years. Lenny Williams just for "Cause I Love You" Alone is timeless. I can listen to that song all day.I enjoy his vocal runs on his songs here though I dig his Tower of Power songs a bit more,but he had a nice run as a Solo Artist. Jeffrey Osbourne:always dug his solo career. I use to listen to his first two Solo Albums all the time&still do. His range is no joke. powerful&Direct.would have liked more tracks on here,but this is still a very good collection.

I am a DEVOTED, Jeffrey Osborne fan, and I have a lot of Lenny Williams music as well. I was a little disappointed when I received my cd today. The cd is very nice, but I expected so much more. I thought Jeffrey and Lenny would at least sing a few tracks together. It is a cd with 5 of J/O, old songs and 5 of L/W, songs. Yes the two of them are a nice combination, and the old songs are my favorite, but when will accepted more from these artist and love the new music, by these artist??I could have put this cd together, because I own all the songs. Yes buy the cd, and dont expect the two of them singing together.....
