Editorial Reviews

Laura Turner Lynch, Kweevak.com
"...savory blend of urban grooves, world rhythms and poetic melodies. Diverse vibes from desperate, to sexy, to just plain funky..."

Product Description
This recording is a smooth R&B effort that plays like a tasty musical gumbo. While the foundation is strictly R&B and pop, there are some funky jazz, hip-hop, dance, and latin influences throughout. The main focus here is relationships - and there are some bitter and sweet stories within the music that make the songs very familiar to any listener who has or has not been in a healthy relationship.

The McKenzie Burns Project is a novel of upbeat, urban grooves, sensuous Brazilian rhythms, and memorable melodies. With such a collection of styles, the album remains cohesive and serves as a dynamic soundtrack for that next road trip.

5 out of 5 stars GREAT GREAT GREAT.......2006-06-03

This is crazy.
ok, so i go to eric roberson's website and I guess I end up at the label that represents him. So I see a list of other artist and here you go.
Now mind you, I am only hearing snipets and I love absolutely every song that I heard. After I write this, I am going to buy this cd. ITS GREAT.
It has like this funky sound. Like spanish/brazilian with some r&b in there...love.
It almost compares to someone ordering you the perfect food except its music.
Have you ever been out someone and a song just stopped you and you immediately wanted to know who that was? Well, this is that cd, except its every song thats great.
"Thought You Were The One" did it for me...

5 out of 5 stars Awsome Smooth sounds.......2002-08-23

I took a chance on this CD and I'm damn glad I did. It's since taken up permenent residence in my car's CD changer. The songs run from RB to Latin to Brazillian....Close to latin but still distinctive in itself.....The arrangements and textures are well done and catchy.

This is one hell of an awsome first effort by these guys. Hopefully there will be more.

5 out of 5 stars Very smooth and hip.......2002-08-13

In a time when most pop music is non-melodious and angry, "The McKenzie Burns Project" comes along to say that smooth jazz with thoughtful lyrics is still alive and well. This is far from a "retro" album, though - it is contemporary, mixing various types of rhythms and styles. The common element is its listenability. I give this CD my very highest recommendation.

5 out of 5 stars A FAN FOR SURE!!!.......2002-06-15

I RECEIVED THIS CD and played it daily since receiveing
it. The hip-hop, R&B, with Latin songs keep you up and grooving
from the first track on. Each artist brings their own unquie
sound to the CD and you can hear that they're enjoying "doing
their own thing with their songs." A great CD. Much Love to
Joel,( our Youngstown Connection)and the rest of the group.

5 out of 5 stars I am not surprised that people like this CD.......2002-05-28

The music found on this CD is familiar in beat and gravity but the feel is new and quite lovely! Any project with Stewart McKenzie attached to it will certainly lead to quality music and a lot of fun!

Keep the recordings coming guys--this is not the time for a breather!
