About the Artist
Michael B. Sutton has over two decades of seasoned experience in the music industry, including seven years as a staff producer and writer for Motown Records. A Stevie Wonder discovery, Mr. Sutton drew the attention of many talented artists at Motown for his genius as a musician, lyricist and composer. Over the years, Mr. Sutton has composed and produced music for Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, Anita Pointer and Pat Boone to name a few. Mr. Sutton’s contribution to the Disco era was substantial. Michael’s songs, performed by the duo Michael and Brenda Sutton, proved to be some of Disco’s most successful and timeless hits. The hot dance singles Down to love Town, Grip My Hips and Cheryl Lynn’s Shake It Up Tonight could be heard from every club coast to coast. In 1987, he founded Mibren Music, a successful publishing company.

To his credit Mr. Sutton has written, produced and scored over 300 songs for major artists as well as for film and television. Some of these accomplishments include the following: The album, Any Way You Like It for Thelma Houston which went gold, the album Switch which went Platinum, the movie score for One False Move, the title song, We’ll make It for the Channel 4 documentary Oasis Of Hope, the title song for the cable TV series Passion And Romance, ESPN’s Body Shaping and Co-Ed Training, the theme songs for the HBO movies Black Belt, Dance with Death, Guilty As Charged, Watchers 2, Showtime’s Black Scorpion and the production and performance for the HBO/Cinemax TV series Emmanuelle In Space.

Currently, Michael has just finished his own CD Hopeless Romantic. This album is a passionate blend of blues, quixotic love ballads and true get-down dance tracks. His vocal qualities have been compared to Marvin, Smokey and Luther, while still maintaining his own style, known as the "velvet voice." In addition, Mr. Sutton has completed writing and producing the moving Gospel CD The Turner Family "We Have A Song To Sing" Lastly, Mr. Sutton’s versatility is reflected in his having written and scored the play Right Smart Of Love Country Cooking Show.

Michael B. Sutton is well known in the industry for his personable nature, his honesty, integrity, professionalism and attention to detail. His tenure as a member of ASCAP for over twenty years has earned him the reputation of being a premier artist, composer and producer.

The Bouncing Souls play old-school punk rock in the tradition of The Ramones and Social Distortion. It sounds anachronistic in an age when rap-metal hybrids litter the hardcore landscape, but the Souls turn up the heat with hooks a-plenty and above average lyricism. Ole ole ole ole.......2006-05-03

bouncing souls no one can beat us we drink beer and wear adidas!! haha yeah this is a good album, especially when drinking, although thier best is how i spent my summer vacation.

Major disapointment.......2006-01-25

this cd was just a major disappointment the entire way through. it seems like they put no effort in this album. the bouncing souls are one of my favorite bands so i would recommend anchors aweigh, how i spent my summer vacation, and maniacal laughter.

Punk Goes Nostalgic.......2005-11-14

The Bouncing Souls have an innocent charm to them, opting for a combination of fast-paced fun songs and sweetly reminiscent ones instead of taking the angst-ridden approach of so many other modern punk bands. Songs such as '87, Night On Earth and Kid display the sensitive side of these guys who have the ability to expertly relate to their fans through their lyrics, and Kid especially taps into the punk mindset perfectly. Other songs such as Wish me Well, It's Not The Heat, It's The Humanity, Monday Morning Ant Brigade are as uplifting and fun lyrically as they are musically and Greg's vocals bring out that certain quality by which you can tell he's singing through a permanent smile. Personally I can't stand Ole, and god only knows how You're So Rad made the final cut - if I was Master of the Universe whoever made the decision to include it would be forced to swallow a sack full of nunchucks. As i'm not Master of the Universe (yet) I took a star off the rating instead. Nevertheless, putting aside that little mishap, the album is a classic from those sweet soccer-loving punks who you'd bet wouldn't hurt a fly.

Third time is the charm....and still just as fun as it was in 99.......2005-08-23

Bloody hell they say third time is the charm....This being the third time I've bought this cd!! The two other copies seemed to have walked away on there own!! This is perhaps the best album by the bouncing souls minus a few quirks. Whats a bouncing souls album without one or two s#$$y songs. Seriously, I understand the goofyness behind this band and just their straight up just want to have fun East Coast style... But, what the f#$k is up with "You're so Rad?!?" I'm also not a fan of the title track, but, it's ok... Songs like kid will have you humming along and singing plus, it has a nice if a tad long bass solo. Another great song is the rather goofy but, fun break up make up break up song "Wish Me Well (You Can Go To Hell)" It's got guest vocals by Kara Wethington. Bullying the Jukebox is a great sing along song about drinking and taking over the jukebox cause your taste in music just sucks. Well, if you want some catchy bass lines and just some fun punk thats not crap and theres only a few that can pull that off this being one of those albums.

It's the right time for singer/songwriter Michael B. Sutton to release his first solo project, and it's the right project, too...a sensual...sometimes naughty...journey into romance and erotica. The first radio single, "Body Music," sets the right mood, with all the qualities a hit should have...great hook, compelling performance, smooth groove. All of the other original tunes on HOPELESSLY ROMANTIC are equally hit-quality, and well they should be. Mr. Sutton spent seven years as a writer/producer for Motown Records, composing hits for the likes of Smokey Robinson, Michael Jackson, and Thelma Houston, among others. He was also half of the R&B duo "The Suttons," aka "Mike & Brenda" in the 80's. Michael's voice is soft and persuasive, and reminds me in many ways of Smokey himself. He gently caresses the lyrics, conveying the romance and passion of his words. Besides the new single, I'm especially drawn to the ultra-sensual "Do That To Me," "Sweet Surrender," "Nobody," and the Latin-flavored duet with Tata Vega, "Lovers Serenade." The beauty and positive vibe of HOPELESS ROMANTIC are especially gratifying in light of Michael's struggles over the past several years. Diagnosed with "limited agoraphobia" in the 80's, he's courageously fought back from emotionally crippling anxiety attacks with the help of his therapist, family, and friends. HOPELESS ROMANTIC is truly a celebration not only of love, but of personal recovery and victory. I salute Michael B. A Hopeless Romantic is a collection of 13 of Tony Dancy's most personal and intimate songs of love lost and love found. These tunes are elegantly crafted adult contemporary pop, seasoned with hints of country, jazz and R&B, with an authenticity which could only come from someone well versed in the permutations of love.All of the music tracks on this CD were sequenced by Tony on a Roland MC-50 music sequencer. Tony played all of the instrumental parts on a Korg M-1 keyboard and he played all lead and lead guitar parts. He did all of the vocals on the CD, with the assistance of a colleague on ensemble vocals.
