Editorial Reviews

John Borack, Amplifier Magazine
"leader Wayne Resnick's short, snappy tunes are humorous, thought provoking and pretty damned catchy."

Extra catchy, concise and with a lyrical edge not usually seen in today's music. Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars The good kind of confusion!.......2000-11-13

Sometimes confusion is good. This CD is a prime example. On some songs, lead Trigger Wayne Resnick sounds like the angriest man who ever lived. Yet, check out a pure ballad like "Sell Your Stuff" for a truly tender and vulnerable offering. A great thing about this album is that the lyrics are free of those typical pop music cliches. Whether funny, cutting or touching, the lyrics are fresh and to the point. The selections also skitter around stylisitically. Punky thrash here, a string laced ballad there, an acoustic folk tune after that. What works is that it is all tuneful. If you like They Might Be Giants or The Replacements, you will probably like this as much or better. And with 25 songs, it's a bargain as well!

4 out of 5 stars Playful, funny, but moderately disjointed.......2000-11-10

This is less an album, than a collection of individually inspired, while collectively confusing, diddies(?), perhaps. The first song alone is worth the purchase price, and there are treasures to be found after it, but it doesn't flow in a coherent order, and the stylistic changes are bound to jostle the casual listener. I bought the album at, what I believe to be the band's debut, the International Pop Overthrow (IPO) festival, and was well pleased with their live performance. I look forward to future releases, perhaps with the HomeTown Buffet Bee Song? Buy this cd without hesitation, but play it with remote control in hand.

5 out of 5 stars Holy Sox! This CD is awesome!!.......2000-10-11

This CD is a revelation. The tunes are extremely catchy and stick in your head for days on end. The lyrics are...profane, inspired, touching, angry, fresh, often hilarious and sometimes pure poetry. It's all here: Power pop, folk, punk, a ballad or two. Trigger Finger packs 25 strong nuggets into one truly delightful offering. This is some of the strongest songwriting to be had in popular music today. The only caveat is that the lyrics can get pretty intense. If you are easily offended you will NOT want to hear this CD. However, the lyrics are not your garden variety low-brow banality, they are intelligent and witty. And every song is short and sweet.
