Amazing cd by an amazing band, although the sound has changed a tad bit from the first two releases, still an awesome album. Any Crash Test Dummies fan will be satasified! Get this one!!

Great Album!.......2005-09-24

Although the sound of this album has changed a bit from the first two releases, it still is amazing. When I first purchased this album a few weeks ago, it was kind of a disappointment. But I kept listening and it actually isn't so much different from the first two except for more guitar use. Overall, the lyrics are awesome and Brad Robert's voice is amazing on here, defenently buy this one!

Many people were disappointed in this album since it wasn't exactly like God Shuffled His Feet. However, the two albums are altogether different, and one cannot expect each CTD album to be like the next one.

This one features some interesting songs. My personal favorites are the fourth, sixth, ninth, and tenth tracks. Each are a little different.

The first five tracks are rather upbeat songs, but are heavier than those on the GSHF album. As in the typical CTD fashion, they concentrate on offbeat topics (for songs), such as getting a tooth pulled or the life of a worm. The second song, which deals with the tooth getting pulled, was the video that caused a controversey on MTV many years ago.

The sixth song has a very dark undercurrent, but the lyrics are wonderful. How many songs deal with giving the advice not to stick your tongue on a stop sign when it's very very cold out?

The seventh song has more of a country feel, and the eighth is more like the first few.

The ninth track is wonderful. It's a reflection on just sitting around at home and is a slower song. The tenth song is amazing and is a take on a love song, which is in a way a rarity for CTD. The soothing baritone vocals add to the effect of the message.

Track eleven is back to the mold of the first part of the CD, and goes back to the recurring CTD theme of country life. The twelfth one is slower and deals with Brad Roberts reflecting on first grade. Since I tend to remember the exact details of my life (such as who sat next to me in art duirng first grade), I can relate to this track.

Don't expect GSHF for style, but expect a quality album that you will listen to over and over again from this one.

Great funky fun music.......2005-05-26

I love the quirky yet deep lyrics and music of CTD. This album is almost as good as GSHF - buy that one first if you have to choose.

Not Good.......2004-11-21

Writing as a big fan of previous release, God Shuffled his feet, this is a big let down. It's an even greater disappointment, considering that I waited 8 years from its release date to finally sample its fruit. All that anticipation, every day of those 8 long years, for this prolix attempt to pass this cd off as art? Mind you, I'm as pretentious as the next guy, but there are some things I can't even pretend to get. Shout out to Robert Schumann though.

vintage Hugh Martin score a complete delight.......2004-12-23

LOVE FROM JUDY, based on Jean Webster's novel 'Daddy Long Legs', is pure vintage Hugh Martin. The show never made it to Broadway, instead enjoying a sold-out London season and an extensive provincial tour.

Jean Carson played Jerusha Abbott, an orphan at the John Grier Home who is mysteriously supported by a never-named benefactor. June Whitfield, Johnny Brandon, Adelaide Hall and Bill O'Connor round out the strong leading cast. Barbara Windsor played one of the orphans (for some interesting backstage reminisces about LOVE FROM JUDY check out Barbara Windsor's autobiography 'All of Me').

The Hugh Martin-Jack Gray score is quite lovely from what is featured on this disc (the recordings were originally designed to fit 4 sides of a set of 78's). LOVE FROM JUDY runs a scant 20 minutes, so the disc has been filled out with extensive bonus material.

We get Jean Carson singing "A Kiss to Build a Dream On", "Hug Me a Hug" and "Barrels and Barrels of Roses" (on the 2 former tracks she's joined by her then-husband Bill Lowe); Johnny Brandon singing 5 numbers including his mega-hit "Glow Worm"; and Adelaide Hall singing 2 great numbers. June Whitfield sings 5 numbers including two songs from GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES!

There are also selections from the Frank Loesser score of HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN; and a full-cast presentation of numbers from Disney's PETER PAN (both feature Jean Carson and Johnny Brandon).

The gay rights movement has made extraordinary progress over the past 33 years since Stonewall, a pivotal event in our history which we must continue to remember and celebrate. Jimmy Worm gives us an opportunity to do just that with "Stonewall" from his album "I Pledge."

"Stonewall" is worth the price of the CD alone, though "I Dream" and "United" are also favorites. These songs are anthems of love, acceptance and a reflection of our relationships and desires. ...

Janie has always had a great love for music. I've know Janie since the 80's and rarely did you see her without her quitar. Her ability to write, sing and play what she feels in her heart is quite an exceptional talent. I love the way she incorporates nature in the words and sounds of her music. To listen to her music gives one a calm and peaceful feeling.
