Despite millions of album sales, 'N Sync are an obvious No. 2 to label mates the Backstreet Boys. Fittingly, they try harder--too hard, in fact--through most of their second non-Christmas disc, No Strings Attached. The quintet and Strings' dozen-plus producers fill these 47 minutes with bland ballads by Diane Warren and Richard Marx, mildly funky workouts like a cover of Johnny Kemp's "Just Got Paid" and the muddled "Space Cowboy," and gimmicks such as "Digital Get Down" that hardly lend credence to whatever career-longevity claims they might want to lodge. This is a guaranteed smash, but judged on the merits of its weak material and less than compelling vocal performances, No Strings Attached should be long forgotten by the time the Backstreeters' next CD arrives. --Rickey Wright

Today, I decided to release the inner masochist in me. I tortured myself with the small pile of CDs I accumulated during the bubblegum pop explosion nearly a decade ago. What a wake up call! What were we thinking? It's just embarrassing! This is easily the most insipid, uninspired, generic, ludicrous, manufactured [...]that has been perpetrated on record buyers in recent memory. Ugggg!

Not as Accomplished as their First.......2006-09-28

This album is not ghastly, but it is not as good as their first CD. It somehow does not feel very innovative. It's sounds like they just tried to emulate some of their earlier hits and see what direction they took. I think this is a result of changing recording companies. They should never have left. I just wondered how much longer they would stay together when I first listened to this CD. Now we all know.

First-rate collection.......2003-02-02

Personally, I didn't care for the first Govi effort I experienced--"Andalusian Nights" but I decided to give him another try. The tagline for this collection--"Govi at his exuberant best"--drew me in, and I have no regrets. This is a fantastic compilation of Govi's upbeat works, a smart, sexy collection of lively songs and toe-tapping rhythms, perfectly suited for exercise or other energetic activities...or just for the sheer joy of a wonderful listening experience. (Warning: This CD may cause spontaneous smiles and dancing!) I'm no stranger to the flamenco sound--I thoroughly enjoy the works of Ottmar Liebert and Jesse Cook--but this the most entertaining album of its kind that I've run across. I've since listened to Govi's "Guitar Odyssey" (some of which was featured on this work), and it is also a worthy effort. See also: Armik, Shahin and Sepehr, and the aforementioned Liebert and Cook. Great, Upbeat selection of Govi tunes.......2000-12-02

As new to the genre of 'New Flaminco', I was drawn to the upbeat, uptempo sound I got in the 'Guitar Greats' selections CD which had Govi's 'Treasure Bay'. I specifically liked this upbeat selection, and when I saw a CD with his upbeat/exuberant songs, I had to buy. Long time Govi fans may not appreciate this album as much as new comers like myself, seeing as how it focuses on a limited aspect of this artist's talent. For me, however, I was attracked to the very song style this CD stated it had; the upbeat ones. If this is what you are looking for, then this album delivers. If you are Govi fan looking for new material or a full selection of this artists' obvious talent, then you may not be fully satisfied.

First time buyer of Govi. Heard the CD, loved it. Everywhere I play it, car, bbques, cd player, people ask me "who is that?". Then they want to buy it! Definitely one of the best CD's in my collection. If you have this CD and a puppy, you'll always have a smile on your face! :)

Takes You on Exotic Mental Journeys- Smooth and Relaxing.......2000-04-12

This is my second Govi CD purchase- the first being "Andulusian Nights", which I purchased pretty much based on hearing just the first track from that one, "Persuasion" (also included on this collection). I have listened to Ottmar Liebert, Strunz & Farah, and Oscar Lopez (nouveau flamenco players) and while I enjoy them very much, Govi is my favorite. This is music that is so easy to listen to and not get tired of hearing after repeated playings. Anytime I want to unwind from a stressful day at work, or just chill out on the weekend, Govi's music does the trick like nothing else in my collection. This particular CD is comprised of previously released songs- the tagline on the CD is "Govi at his exuberant best"- and features the upbeat, festive-sounding Spanish acoustic guitar stylings. My one criticism of this collection is that it's too short. It only contains 10 tracks and would have been a more valuable collection with at least 15 tracks included. At any rate, I still recommend this collection without hesitation if you've never heard Govi's music. As the title of my review states, this fine music will take you on exotic mental journeys from which you'd prefer not to return.

Pure instrumental magic!.......2007-06-13

The purchase of this CD was highly recommended by a fellow member of Yahoo's "Beautiful Instrumentals Group." Containing several formerly unavailable on CD selections, this album is pure instrumental magic! For example, some of you may recall Monte Kelly's mid-1950s rendition of "Tropicana," from the LP of the same name, and other songs from that collection. They are here at last! I have been waiting since CDs came out to see "Tropicana" and many other "magical instrumentals" from the US and Europe finally appear on CD, and this is the first in a series of new CDs produced by Nick Acquaviva to hit the market that feature these wonderful instrumentals. I highly recommend that anyone who loves classic instrumental check this and the entire series out. You will not be disappointed!

F.A.N.T.A.S.T.I.C.!.......2006-02-02

I've got the original music (including v2 and v3), the books (the best is Heitland's The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Book; still in print);
the 22 VHS tapes issued in the early 1990's (a haphazard collection issued in no particular order of episodes that boasted famous guest stars). Can I please get the whole series on DVD? I have not seen Mother Fear toying with Illya (The Children's Day Affair) in over 40 years.

At LAST the complete series ORIGINAL soundtrack, the wait is over!.......2005-07-12

Many of us have always thought The Man From UNCLE had the best music for a TV series ever, and this three double CD release confirms this. Wow! I'd be just happy with one CD, but having SIX (three double CDs packages) is absolutely out of this world, I mean, a lifetime wait come true.

Indeed, this is an unbelievable collection of three double CDs packages with the complete series soundtrack, and I mean the complete music, not a tune is missing.

And this is the ORIGINAL Man From Uncle music. Let me stress the point: this is the four years ORIGINAL soundtrack with the original recordings as they were heard throughout the series, not a no-name orchestra doing personal versions of the stuff. The audio transfer is very, very good, the music from late episodes is even in stereo.

Each individual CD carries over 70 minutes of music. All in all there you have the four TV seasons main titles and all, absolutely all of TMFU unforgetable music.

This is not a chronological release, meaning, all CDs have a mix of music from all four TV seasons. Volume 1 is heavier on early TV seasons stuff, fans of Jerry Goldsmith will love it. Those of us who prefer what Gerald Fried and later Richard Shores did with TMFU music, then volume 2 is mandatory. If you are a fan, you can't miss any of these six CDs. However if buying all three double packages is too much for you, you must go with Volume 2, no questions asked. Volume three is the weakest of them as it brings "suites" and a whole CD with "The Girl From Uncle" soundtrack, but you have a bonus "Open Channel D" beeper.

Each package is gorgeous, each with a glossy color booklet with extensive liner notes with details on how each tune was written to a specific TV series episode and how it was used onwards. You have bios on the composers, on how the recordings were made, even an overview on how many instruments were available in each of the years the music was recorded.

So, throw away your Hugo Montenegro Man From Uncle CD, this is the REAL thing.

Listening to our local jazz station (KMHD) in the Portland area, I heard Kaeshammer's West Broadway from the No strings attached CD and was sold. Full sound and a toe tapping beat, my son and I lingered through several more selections until we heard who this great musician was. A name I won't forget.

I heard Michael Kaeshammer in Ontario last year and immediately bought this album. He plays stride piano so fast his hands are a blur, and his singing is reminiscent of a young Harry Conniff. This fresh, bluesy album stands up to repeated listening and heralds the debut of a wonderfully-talented German-born artist who calls Vancouver home.

I have all three of TDA!'s recordings and while the songs are great on CD, you have not lived until you have seen the epic grandeur that is a live TDA! show. Absolutely excellent stuff. Imagine the B-52s if the only instruments they knew how to play (and play well I might add) were accordions. These guys and gals are raw squeezebox dynamite.

If you dig accordions then you have to hear this! Great CD (their 3rd?) from this colorful San Francisco-based accordion rock-ska-polka band aptly named THOSE DARN ACCORDIONS! The CD is a mix of originals and "cover songs" (like the Who's "Baba O'Riley"). It rocks my world. END

NSA is a great cd anyway, but with this import, you're adding the beautiful "If Only Through Heaven's Eyes", originally from the Set It Off soundtrack, "This Is Where The Party's At", a fun B-side that you'll end up liking, "If I'm Not The One", also a great song, and finally "Yo Te Voy A Amar", the beautiful spanish version of "This I Promise You". Definitely worth the $21, and if you can get the videos off the extra cd, it'd be even better.

Awesome No Strings Attached Import.......2000-04-18

This CD is awesome!This is totally different from NSA,the American version,with 3 extra tracks that any 'N Sync fan would love to own!

This hard-to-find CD has 3 bonus tracks in addition to the the American 12-track listing! The only other place to find "I'll Never Stop" is on the Euro. version of NSA, "If Only In Heaven's Eyes" was on the 'Light It Up' movie soundtrack and "Could It Be You" was a B-side track to the hot import single 'Bye Bye Bye'

I love their albums and i love their songs especially " This I promise you! and I drive my sellf crazy. When i heard their songs i feel in love with that songs. And i wish to them more power!!

different to what I expected, but really good!.......2001-01-03

I'm not an Nsync fan, but I like a few of their singles so I thought I'd ask for this for christmas. I couldn't believe how good some of the unreleased songs on the album were! 'Just Got Paid' and 'Space Cowboy' are my favourite songs from the album and they should release 1 of them next. I didn't expect the music to sound like it does on a few of the tracks cos it's so different to the singles they've released here. There's some jungle-type music and rap on the album which I was surprised at, but impressed! I really recommend this, even for those who aren't big fans of Nsnyc, it's a really good album.

However, for some reason, it still doesn't cut it. I don't often listen to stuff that gets me too excited 'cause I get too excited. This is the UK re-issue with an enhanced feature backed up with the "It's Gonna Be Me" video. But, N Sync ALREADY have ONE ECD in America, you ain't supposed to have more than one during your career. I don't often find ECDs attractive because they have things that are of little interest to me. My suggestion: get it only if you're a true N Sync fan (I for one am not) and you can thank me later.
