John Book, U-Wu Newsletter
G-Clef is a harsh MC who definitely graces the mic well with his style...production is very professional sounding...

Product Description
An example of Wu-Tang type Flava at its most raw and rumping. This is hardcore hip-hop in it's purest form. Rough, Rugged and Raw.

Due to popular demand, we present the underground hip-hop of the Soul Kid Klik. SKK was a group that was formed by G-Clef da Mad Komposa of Ghetto Philharmonic, a group formerly signed to Tuff City Records. When Jay "Wax" Garfield of the Garfield Brothers met G-Clef while doing some radio shows, G-Clef became managed by what was then known as Gza Entertainment, which was co-owned by Genius from the Wu-Tang Clan. The crew of artists that G-Clef was then producing were known as the Soul Kid Klik, and were soon annexed under the Wu-Tang banner, as a Gza Entertainment act.

Although two of these recordings were recorded before 1994, when the SKK was not yet a Wu-Affiliated group, there has existed, for some time, a series of demos and studio recordings that were eventually to be released on Soul Kid Records as a full length album. However, with the collapse of relations between the Garfield Brothers and Genius, as well as internal turmoil within SKK, the group basically was disbanded, with the project left unfinished. Several ex-members of this now legendary group still work together and speak, but there, at this time, no discussions of any new material from the group as a whole. Here, now, for the first time, is the most complete representation of the album material. Enjoy.

5 out of 5 stars True Hip-Hop............2006-04-20

....the way it was made to be. Get this underground classic while it is still available. If you have been missing the old flavor in recent years, this one is a BANGER!!!

5 out of 5 stars a real rugged raw uncut undergrond hip hop album.......2006-02-04

i didn't know about them until i went to an wu tang unofficial website and i read about them and was very interested, but couldn't find any material from them and i downloaded g-clef's ghetto philamonic album, then suddenly i found it and i downloaded it and i was happy what i heard,it was that straight wu tang flava that i love,it reminded me of enter the 36 chambers but way way way way much darker even though wu tangs first album is dark.and what really amazed me is that u got 2 cats that are sicilian descent which are g-clef and goodfella mike g, and trust me they are very very good, and they would crush eminem, production wise and lyrical wise, when i heard them i couldve sworn they were black, soemtimes g-clef sounds like a pissed off killah priest, but they're still good, alot of these tracks were made back in the mid 90's to the late 90's i would say from 1995-1997 but thats good because i like stuff like that anyways.this album is recommended for wu fanatics such as myself and for real underground heads and for real hip hop fans, and also this album is for fans of the video game mortal kombat, standout tracks are mortal kombat, desperate times,i want him dead, masters of the game, the demon, spark da mic,you don't know me,and the remix to mortal kombat.one love.

5 out of 5 stars MASTERPIECE.......2004-07-10

I had re-discovered Ghetto Philharmonic which inevitably led me to discover the Soul kid Klik. And whoa... what a discovery. This album may be the best Wu Tang Oriented album next to 36 Chambers itself! and i am NOT KIDDING! DO NOT SLEEP on this classic underground hiphop.

5 out of 5 stars An inevitable Classic!!!.......2004-01-31

This is one of those albums you hear once in a while and get stuck to it till you get sick of it. The Beats are Incredibily nasty! Raw rhymes that puts the epiphany of a powerful blow to your comprehension with acrobatic soul flowic rhythm. Yo....If you don't like this album, get the hell out of HIP HOP!!!

5 out of 5 stars MUST HAVE CD.......2003-03-10

This is a DOPE!!!!!!! cd and is a must have in any wu-tang fan's cd rack or for that matter and hip hop fan's cd rack DON'T SLEEP ON THIS ONE PEACE
