About the Artist
Nick Alexander is the Catholic version of "Weird Al" Yankovic. He takes popular songs from today and rewrites them so that they are both Catholic orthodox and side-splittingly funny. He has released "A Time to Laugh" (2000) and "Eternal Life - the Party Album" (2001). He is also a powerful speaker and worship leader for conferences around the country.

Product Description
This may sound crazy, but I wanted to do a conceptual parody album about heaven. I wanted to convey where God is, in perfect glory. But I also wanted to build up anticipation of the things to come. There will be unspeakable joy. There will be a rising up of history's unknown heroes. There will be one huge family reunion uniting all races, eras, and specific musical preferences. And there will be LAUGHTER, tons of it -- at mankind's failings, in light of God's Eternal grace. (Nick Alexander)

5 out of 5 stars The Second Time Around.......2002-01-08

I am glad to say that I made the wise decision to get Eternal Life, the Party Album! I hesitated because follow up albums are often a pathetic imitation of the debut effort...but NOT SO with Mr. Alexander's second foray into Catholic comedy. This time around and going up the road to heaven, the lyrics are more thought provoking, heady and a bit more sophisticated...without being over anyone's head....Those of us in the over 50 set can have as much fun listening and learning in our living rooms as does the 16 year old at a youth rally. The lyrics literally TEACH while rocking! Especially "Nahum, Zephaniah, Malachi" a hilarious rendition of 'Jenny' by Tommy Tutone.

Ron Zabrocki's live electric and/or acoustic guitar on everything could not be better nor could any of his skillful programming. These two guys together really created the benchmark for this genre last time around with "A Time to Laugh". "Eternal Life; The Party Album" truly carries the fun along to a different level, speaking about saints like St. Therese of Lisieux, rosaries, evangelization (my favorite, "Evangelize" to the tune of 'I Will Survive' by Gloria Gaynor) and so on.

"Too Late have I Loved You", Mr. Alexander's one serious moment on the CD is a lovely adaptation of the writings of St. Augustine. Poetic and lyrical, it is another of my favorites. I enjoy simply reading the lyrics; Mr. Alexander is a wonderfully prolific communicator. And the bonus track, which is my number one favorite, is really a bonus...if you can find it! It's worth the wait and as much fun as the rest of the collection! I can't wait to see what will be next from Mr. Nick Alexander! :)Lynn Geyer
