Points to the boys.......2003-01-27

I bought this single because I thought it would be nice to hear the remixes of my favorite song off the "No Strings Attached" album, and well, I'm so glad I did. This is the first remix cd I've ever heard with GREAT remixes. Hats off to Mr. Hex Hector who had the guys re-record their vocals...so they fit with the beats and slightly re-arranged melody PERFECTLY! And "Yo Te Voy Amar" is gorgeously done and also fun to guess which pronunciation each member is using...thank you Mr. Timberlake for your S. American accent and to Mr. Chasez for a slight Spanish/Mexican accent. All in all DEFINITELY worth buying!!!

I bought this album for the Spanish version, and I was not disappointed. This song is beautiful in both languages. Any Nsync fan should definitely buy this single.

The Worst CD I've Ever Listened to!.......2001-04-09

N'Sync DOES NOT know how to sing and they are not cute at all! When I first bought the album and this single, I thought it was going to be good, but I guess I was wrong. I wasted "my money" It was not worth it at all!

A Promising Band Keeps Its Promise........2001-02-20

Taken from their second release " No Strings Attached ". N'sync Hit the music charts yet again , only this time , its soft , mellow , yet smashing.

" This I Promise you " , a great musical ballad, which totally leaves the listner in an emotional sphere of love and hope. 4:40 mins of Tear jerking music which shines out a new rainbow in our own personal lives.

Richard Marx has written a very beautiful song here , and personally i think it's one of his best written songs ever.

N'sync on the other hand , have performed really well in this single.Their vocal performance and beautiful harmonies make it worth the listen always.

The Swedish Version too is beautiful ( although i dont understand swedish ) but it sounds really good.

Wow, just went out and bought this single and the excitement I am feeling right now is OVERWHELMING! "This I Promise You" is a great ballad, but the remixes are AWESOME and "Yo Te Voy a Amar" is even BETTER! I can't stop listening to this great spanish version!!!!! My friends tell me I am crazy for being an *NSYNC fan (I am 22 after all) but how can you not like these guys voices and their CUTENESS is probably helpful! Can't wait to see them at the Superbowl on Sunday performing with Aerosmith! If you are a BIG *NSYNC fan like myself this single is a must have!!!!! Enjoy!

Wonderful.......2007-04-22

I must confess I am unfamiliar with Copland's "The Tender Land" except for this reissue, which I find to be absolutely magnificent. I realize this is a truncated performance, eliminating what I assume to be a fair amount of spoken dialogue. But I don't care. What is presented here is simply one of the finest American compositions - forget American - one of the finest compositions of the 20th century. Period.

The recording of Copland's The Tender Land is alone worth getting this disc. The rest of the vocal works are just a bonus, a very good bonus! Copland directs a definitive account of his opera, and in this compressed version leaves out all the spoken parts of the full length opera, no doubt depriving us of a lot of good music but on the other hand giving listeners a very concise version that is even stronger musically (although dramatically a little lacking in logic because of the missing parts - for example without knowing of the confrontation during the party scene you would find the boys' departure the next morning puzzling, and the CD notes does not elaborate on the plot, which is about the only negative thing you can say about this set). Listening to the opera in this abridged version gives you the feeling of one hit after another, there is not a single weak point in the score and Copland has a gift for word-setting that can turn clumsy texts such as "girls come and go, some are good, some are not so good" into goosebumps stuff (a lovely dedication to Laurie sung by Grandpa). Other high points include the stunning transformation of the traditional Walls of Zion into the quartet piece The Promise Of Living and a rollicking Party Scene, which contains the best in Copland's clever orchestration and rythmic vitality - it seems all of the composers best traits have all come together in this work. Martin's Act 2 Song 'Laurie...You Know, Laurie' is a rare gem or an aria and beautifully sung. Other hidden gems include the comical 'We've Been North'. The cast is impeccable and the entire performance is flawless. Add to that one of those scores that simply win you over from start to finish, and you can't but fall in love with this music. I once thought that nothing could better Appalachian Spring but that was before I discovered this neglected work.

Copland's vocal work.......2002-08-08

And so on this third set of the celebration of Aaron Copland's music, all attention is on his vocal work including the opera, "The Tender Land".

I can't completely explain why I give this five stars after giving the first two sets four stars each. This is just the way the opera, in particular, strikes me. I'm no great opera fan, and to my knowledge, America just has not yet proved itself in the operatic field although it's tried. It will take time, but I do see Copland's work as someday being considered the best example of American opera. This is all subjective opinion, obviously, and I'm sure there are those more knowledgeable who will disagree. So be it.

Beautiful album by excellent musicians........2006-03-11

I had not heard of Richard Stoltzman (Clarinet) but this is a generous (66+ minutes)and wonderful CD. The musicians such as guitarist Gene Bertoncini and the English Chamber Orchestra are
excellent. "Sleepless in Seattle" is an upbeat tune and "Out of Africa" is simply beautiful. An excellent variety and treatment of these movie themes. Highly recommended. P.S. - The above
album title shows artist as "Eddie Gomez" - he does play on the album but Mr. Stoltzman is the "headliner."

First tune "The piano" made me get stuck.
And, I was moved to tears.

All the other tunes impress me,too.

This item made Richard Stoltzman to became My Most Favorite Artist of the world.

Now,10years have passed after I boght it.
But it never fades.

wait a day before..........2003-02-26

Listening to this cd, watch the film...enjoy it then when doing something like tidying your room, slap it on. You'll find-and i can guarentee this-that during a certain song reprisal, you'll stop and tears will come to your eyes and you'll wish you were a child again. That song is of course 'You Can Fly', it makes my cry, escpecially what happened to Bobby Driscoll.

As a lover of Peter Pan, this CD was a wonderful addition to my collection. The songs are just wonderufl, and the instrumental music is great to hear when you've seen the movie, or even when you haven't! For anyone who is still yearning to let out their inner child, this is the CD for you!

Moravian songs, via Janacek, Godar, Bittova and Skampa.......2006-05-09

This is a unique recording of Janacek's transcriptions of Moravian folk songs. Originally for piano and voice, they have been transcribed by Slovak composer Vladimir Godar for string quartet and (occasionally) three-voice male chorus. Here they are performed by renowned Czech singer and violinist Iva Bittova, accompanied by the Skampa Quartet and chorus. The effect is not so much of classical liede, but of authentic eastern European "popular" songs - the sonority of the string quartet adds to this in no small part. Janacek would be proud.

I honestly did not know what I was getting myself into when I bought this CD. I love Janacek, I love folk songs... how could I go wrong? Iva Bittova! I was concerned that she would have a 50yr old woobly voice, but instead what exists is a thin VERY nasal tone... perhaps she should be singing traditional Bulgarian music! The voice is expressive, just ugly.
The recording quality is not very good, either. On many of the tracks, Iva seems to be muffled and in the background of the recording.
Really - dont waste your time and money, unless you really would just like to have a recording of over 50 Janacek songs.

This ballad by 'N Sync isn't extraordinary or utterly remarkable but serves as a reminder of Richard Marx's songwriting and producing abilities which have been long forgotten by the general public. I say: bring him back! Nevertheless, this is perfectly sung by the band and a good showcase of their talent.

dear readers, i just want to say that this is the absolutlly the best song ever. i do not own a this i promise you single but i do own the album of the year "No Strings Attached". This song showed me devotion to the ones I love but in a promising kind of way.I must admit that J.C. has an incredble joice but JUSTIN still has the best joice ever and it has an awsome ballad and excellent backups from lance,joey and chris. "This I promised you," has changed my mind about N'Sync.Its not just the great songwritting by Richard Marx,but the fantastic vocals by the band.Everytime this numbers on the radio,I have to turn it up.

Now THIS is what I wanted to expect from people like these guys. Basically, the only reason this song sounds totally different from just about all other songs by teen artists is due to its lovely arrangements (Richard Marx penned this song). Even the Backstreet Boys' "Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely" has a beat akin to their own smash "I Want It That Way." I never heard the Spanish version, but I did hear Hex Hector's remix of this song. I just wonder what 'N Sync, otherwise not a fave of mine, will do next? My sister votes for "It Makes Me Ill."

And about this single, I only gave it three stars, I gave it that many because anything nsync automatically gets three stars cause nsync rocks, but this single isn't really worth the money (especially here because the price is outrageous, what you get is just like the limited edition of it's gonna be me, it's in a cardboard case and it has three songs you've already heard, the last one is a remix that can be found on the other cardboard cased cd I mentioned, the it's gonna be me limited edition with the cartoon on the front). You can buy this at, say, the virgin megastore for SIX bucks. They also sell it there (at least in the one in san fran) in a regular single case, the plastic one that's really thin. I hope this helped! if ANYONE can tell me where to find the single that has the spanish version "yo te voy a amar" and possible the spanglish version?? I'd TOTALLY apreciate it. This CD is one of the best CD N Sync has ever made!.......2001-03-24

I especially like the dance version of the "This I promise you". I listen to it when I'm driving to or back from work. In our famous traffic jam hour, this music will make me want to dance with my car - I can weave in & out of the traffic beautifully! =)
