What America is missing!!!.......2007-07-28

I am an avid fan of WESTLIFE from the beginning. Through the years, countless singles have made it all the way to UK number 1, i still remain a devoted fan. Every single they released is a pure pop, very melodic, and soon to be classic. I say classic because to this day i still play the CD they released years ago. Now how many of us still plays CDs we bought years ago? Their music is very catchy, brings love in the air, and just put a smile on your face with each listening. I can't help but memorized each songs. Just take a listen to Amazon's sample booth and be mesmerized!!!

Extremely girly, but still a great album .......2007-05-15

It's girly, yes. It's a boy band, yeah. But this CD made a bunch of bucks, in the US and Europe. It's got 17 tracks, one of the a remake of "Angel". The best part is that it's a great gift for your girl if she's a fan; the album that led Westlife to the light of the day.

Another Awesome Album From Westlife.......2006-01-30

Okay this review is basically going to be a song by song kinda deal...

QUEEN OF MY HEART- This is a great song. Perfect choice for the first single released for the album.
BOP BOP BABY- I love this song. And it's even better that it was written by Shane and Bryan. The video is cool, too.
I CRY- I love Mark in this song. So soulful.
WHY DO I LOVE YOU- This is a great song as well. Are we seeing a theme here? I can just picture the dance moves when I hear "Why do I love you like I do..Like I always do" LOL.
I WANNA GROW OLD WITH YOU- I love this song. Such a strong ballad and you can totally tell that these guys wrote this while missing their ladies. I like how Nicky gets a few lines here, too.
EVERGREEN- Not the best song on the album but it has grown on me. I don't really get how you make a night evergreen, though. :)
WORLD OF OUR OWN- This is the song I look forward to every time I play this CD. It is perfectly mixed with perfect singing. I like how Shane's voice gets raspy at times. And Mark is once again amazing here.
TO BE LOVED- This is actually a song where I thought to myself "Hey, that could be a good first dance song for a wedding". One of the best ballads they have done, in my opinion.
DRIVE- I like how this song is a bit different than the rest. They have that part where it's almost a cappella that I love.
IF YOUR HEART'S NOT IN IT- Another song I look forward to when I listen to this CD. Every line sounds so heartfelt.
WHEN YOU COME AROUND- I have to say I haven't listened to this song as much as the others. But I do love the beat in the background. And it's a song that makes you feel happy.
DON'T SAY IT'S TOO LATE- I like this song. Not my favorite, but it has grown on me.
DON'T LET ME GO- Again, I'm glad Nicky and Kian get some lines in this song.
WALK AWAY- I like the sound of "If you want a man that is here to stay..." Good song.
LOVE CRIME- I'm not crazy about it, but it's a good solid song. Takes some getting used to.
IMAGINARY DIVA- I LOVE this song. I didn't at first, but I do now. Again, Mark's voice (and songwriting) is amazing.
ANGEL- I do like this song, but it has been soooo overplayed in the US that I'm not crazy about it. I do think that Westlife did a great job covering it though. It is not an easy song to sing.

Overall, I think this album is definitely a must-have for any pop music fan. And what I love about it is that it is a great CD for working out. The treadmill is much more bearable while this CD is playing. :)

Better Than N*Sync or The Backstreet Boys!.......2005-02-20

I am older and since then, I've kind of been out of the whole boy band or N*Sync thing but, Westlife is an exception. Westlife the U.K's version of N*Sync and the Backstreet Boys is actually better than both groups. With beautiful music, charm, and actual singing ability! This group has all the thing most boy bands lack... and in fact, we the U.S.A are missing out are this worldwide hit group(although we in the U.S.A never catched on to them). This in my opinon is well-worth it's price-tag and perfect gift for any teen or pre-teen girl! Parents buy this one if you've got a daughter who is a pop fantic and N*Sync fans beware this group can sing!

Amazing Album.......2004-01-22

Even after 2 years, this album is still my favourite album of all times. Most are single-quality songs and there are many that are tear-makers. This album is more uptempo then C2C and Westlife. Some of the great ballads are Queen of My Heart, I Cry, Why Do I Love You. Some mid-tempo like Don't Say It's too Late, Drive, Love Crime (which is my personal fav.). World of Our Own, (When You're Looking Like That & Uptown Girl in UK album) are songs to rock up the album!

I never heard of Westlife until I went to the Philippines in 2000. My 14 year old niece saw their concert and she has all of their CD's and avcd's. I listened to this WOOO CD and my gosh! It moved me a lot! Come hail or high waters, I had to have a copy for myself. I love all the 17 songs in this CD, you can tell that great care in choosing the songs and professionalism was poured into this project, and oh, the video is just awesome! For all of you who are hopelessly romantic, get this cd, it is worth every penny. Each song touches and moves you differently. With their soothing voices and the wholesome lyrics you would not be afraid if your teenagers will idolize Westlife( by the way, they are in the Guinness Book of Records). Come and join the experience, buy yourselves a copy! You will not regret it! Go Westlife! Conquer the US OF A! as you have conquered all of Asia and Europe!

Album Description

Shaker music is a unique body of American sacred folk music, created by eighteen American Shaker communities over a period of one hundred and forty years (1780-1920). This rich tradition of song continues to serve the Shaker community in the twenty-first century because it embodies their history, records the testimony of Shakers "who have gone before," articulates the religious principles on which Shakerism is founded, and reflects the faith of the contemporary community. Shaker music was created and nurtured in communities that prized isolation from worldly ways. Shaker melodies, although related to the larger tradition of Anglo-American folk songs, are not bound by their form, tonality, melodic or rhythmic structure.

The Enfield Shaker singers are a vocal ensemble of adults and children devoted to the study and performance of Shaker music. The group is open to all without audition, and is made up of both trained musicians and amateur singers. We draw heavily on the repertoire received or composed in the two societies that were the New Hampshire Bishopric—Canterbury and Enfield. Since the New Hampshire societies enriched their repertoire with songs from all the other Shaker communities, they also sing songs of the New York, Maine, Massachusetts, Ohio and Kentucky Shakers.

The Enfield Shaker Singers are drawn to Shaker spirituals that illuminate Shaker communal values and broaden our definitions of the sacred. The songs included on this recording illustrate some of the many ways music served Shaker communities. Most Shaker song texts are theologically direct, emotionally honest, and expressive of our shared humanity.

On this recording we offer thirty-nine songs we have come to love. Some have special meaning for individuals. We associate others with a particular singer in the group, or an occasion when it was sung. Each song offers us slightly different insights into Shaker aspiration, and Shaker faith. Religious music from the 19th century.......2007-07-07

If one likes the songs of the Shakers written in the late 18th and early 19 century that were without musical instruments, then you may like this CD. I found 8 songs out of the 30 or more on the CD that I liked, the others I did not care for much. This is no fault of the creators of the Cd, it is simply the style of the Shakers of the past.

A wonderful listening treat.......2005-01-11

This CD is a delight! The simple melodies, surprising harmonies, and clarity of the voices makes you want to sing along. Listening makes one smile, regardless of one's religious persuasion. Thank you for giving us these songs and preserving the tradition of this music.

De nuevo Westlife nos muestra de lo que son capaces. Fantástico album para los seguidores de este grupo irlandes que nos les va a decepcionar. Como siempre se trata de un album con muchísimas canciones a cual mejor. Ademas 7 de las canciones han sido escritas o co-escritas por ellos mismos. Fantásticas canciones que levantan el ánimo a cualquiera como "Bop Bop Baby", "World of our own", "Don't let me go", y baladas que nos elevan al cielo como "If your heart's not in it", "I wanna grow old with you" e incluso una canción poco comun como "Imaginary Diva" en la que los chicos se atreven a sorprender a sus fans con un estilo muy diferente a lo que nos tienen acostumbrados.
En general, un album que no puede faltar en tu colección. De veras..., te va a encantar.

A quite good album from Westlife! Worth buying..........2002-06-11

Since I found Westlifes' first album better than the second one, I was quite skeptical to this third album. But the guys have really made an amazing album, which I now find better than the two previous ones. But again, there are so many tracks. This time it's 18 tracks, but since the last songs ain't that good it's quite okay this time. The boys have also written (and co-written) some tracks, and that's really impressive. 'Bop Bop Baby' is a really good song. It's an up-tempo song with a cool bridge to the chorus. I especially like when Mark sings "when I called you at home...". Another favourite is a song called 'Evergreen'. It can be compared to 'Try Again' on the 'Westlife' album. Evergreen has that magic I can't put my finger on. Then of course we've got 'World of Our Own' with another Mark-bridge to the chorus. 'I Wanna Grow Old With You' is a song the boys have written by themselves, and it ain't that much to brag about. The lyric is quite ridiculous, unlike another song Westlife has written. It's called 'Imaginary Diva' and has an amazing lyric. Unfortunately, the song honestly sucks. It has kind of a Destinys Child beat, and is just not Westlife. I don't know what they're doing there, and I don't think they know either. On the first album I complained about the fact that Kian and Nicky sang very little. They really show that they have voices in their own song 'Don't Let Me Go', which is one of my absolutely favorites, not only on the album.

Lacking.......2002-05-25

Westlife recently notched up their 10th #1 in the UK equalling with queen of reinvention, Madonna. There's no denying that this group can sing. But there are a few problems. For starters, each album release tends to be too long. Therefore, more of the same stuff only degrades what was established before. There's an imbalance of uptempo and ballads. This album, like their previous two releases, is still relatively ballad heavy. No denying that the ballads are great, but too much of the same thing makes it tedious and tiring to listen to the same thing over and over. Thirdly, if I didn't look at the CD cover, I thought this was a solo act. All you hear is Mr Filan singing and no one else, occasionally with Mark chirping in on the bridges. So yeah, there is an imbalance when it comes to the sharing of the vocals. There are however, I mean, there has to be, out of the seventeen available, some songs that are listenable. Not unlike many of the earlier reviewers, I agree with them on the sense that the following are the stand outs:
1. Queen Of My Heart - despite the ballad that it is, it's a lot slower than any of their previous ballads and the harmony is great as usual.
2. World Of Our Own - uptempo title track which also became the seconds single is something different. Similar to "When You're Looking Like That" and less cheesy than "Uptown Girl", the lyrics really shine through and that's what makes this track stand out.

However, I think that praising ends here. The rest of the album fits into either option number one or option number two. Therefore, the single releases from the album are a true representation of what the album really is made of, I mean, if you like more of the same thing, feel free to explore into the rest of the album, if not, just wait until the greatest hits set drop this coming Christmas and you have all the best of Westlife in one CD.

This a great album! Absoultely, you must buy it, if you don't, you'll loose great songs, sounds and especially lyrics. These guys have always have great lyrics and they wanted to keep doing it with their 3rd. album.

My faves are:

1. I cry (I great ballad, with great sounds and instruments, not just a piano or a guitar, no it has many many instruments, it's great, it makes feel it, no matter what you're doing.

2. Bop Bop Baby (that's a great popy song, and it was written by Bryan!! let me tell you that must of the songs were written by them).

3. World of our own (that's pegajosa song, great great great you can listen to it a 1000 times and you won't get bured of it.)

Well, that my top 3, if I would've more words to write, I'll explain you and describe each song).
But, let me tell you I give five stars each songs, I like al of them. There's no one that I don't like.
