I felt called to put together a group of songs with lyrics that show God's love for His suffering ones. I wanted this album to focus on God's gift of Hope for tomorrow, both here and in eternity. Gretchen Harris' third album, HOPE FOR TOMORROW, is the winner of the United Catholic Music and Video Association's award for POP/CONTEMPORARY ALBUM OF THE YEAR!! This very special honor was awarded on October 26, 2002, at the Hartke Theatre in Washington D.C.

For this album, Gretchen has joined forces again with producer David Harris.  They offer eleven beautiful selections, including one they co-wrote, to convey the message of peace in confusing, troubled times. The theme of the album became even more fitting as the events unfolded following the September 11th attack on the United States.

The album starts with "I Am," as Bob Cowsill, of  The Cowsills fame, joins Gretchen on a duet verse.  "Hungry " is a song of total offering of one's self in prayer, even when hungry and broken.

The classic "Take, Lord, Receive" is affectionately revived with harmony vocals artfully sung by vocal group Spirit Alive.  "Child of God" shows how, in the hardest times, Jesus simply holds us through it all. Phil Keaggy was the writer and inspiration behind the recording of "Reaching Out," a simple song of wonderment at the phases in life, and how we need to reach out God's hand to those in need.

John Michael Talbot's well-loved "Only In God" is a statement that God alone is our stronghold and our safety. The song is presented against the backdrop of a drum groove; with scripture verses and electric guitar woven through the interlude, this is a very moving piece.

The meditational "You Bless Me, Lord" perfectly fits the lyrical theme to the album, with the simple statement that God blesses us and we are His, even through the gravest circumstances.  The percussion of Steve Reid, founding member of The Rippingtons, is showcased here. Liam Lawton's "The Cloud's Veil" has a message that "Even when the rain hides the stars... You are by my side."  Piano and harp are featured, with Gretchen on harmony vocals.

Amy Grant wrote the comforting "Carry You" that calls us to lay down our burdens and allow ourselves to be carried by Jesus through the hard times.  "Life After Death" was written by Gretchen and producer David Harris, as a sweet story of her mother's recovery and healing following the death of Gretchen's father.  And the album finishes with an affirmation of  God's healing power from Chris Eaton's "Wonderful World."

I happened upon this magnificent CD while searching for help in dealing with grief after my 44-year-old husband passed away. Gretchen Harris brings a soothing message of hope and love. The music helps immensely as I negotiate the rocky shoals of bereavement. The melodies linger, providing uplifting support and strength throughout the day. I love "What a Wonderful World" -- it truly inspires me to see the beauty and peace again. Grethchen Harris's voice is pure, and she has given each of us a gift by sharing her talents with the world.

I've heard a few tracks and just had to write a note. It is a perfect soft set of melodies-some upbeat and some mellow and romantic. Whether you like Christian music or main stream this will appeal to you. Excellent original lyrics and songs.

Gretchen's best work yet!.......2002-05-30

Gretchen's refined voice and rich instrumental sounds will give you hours of enjoyment. Her Christian inspiration and mainstream, but at the same time original sounding melodies combine into a very refined work. My favorites are #1, 5, and 7. I highly recommend this CD.

Best Talley recording!.......2005-06-25

I have almost every recording of the Talley Trio and I have to say that this album stands far and above as their absolute best! Each and every song will either tug at your heart and make you blink back tears of happiness, or will have you dancing for joy! "The Healer" is one of the best songs by any artist anywhere, anytime! If you are looking for an album that will bless your heart, then look no further!

Their love of the lord shines through this beautiful collection of songs with a wonderful blend of harmony.
"I LOVE THE LORD" is their best recording yet. Generally I like one or two songs on a CD at the most. They trully inspire with all of the songs on this CD.

Incredibly beautiful contemporary guitar music.......2002-07-06

This is an amazing cd and I'm very surprised I've never heard of this composer before. The melodies are so evocative and heartwrenching, somewhat abstract, but always tonal. It speaks to my soul. There are some really nice faster, complex pieces to keep things interesting, but overall, this is music for contemplation. My only reservation is there is a harmonica featured on 3 or so tracks which is distracting. It takes some getting used to and reminds one of an Italian bandoneon player serenading someone on one of the canals, or perhaps Piazolla, though not so rhythmic and "tango-ish". The tracks with it aren't bad, but it plays the melody line and kind of changes the focus from the guitar. Overall though, it shouldn't discourage anyone from getting this one, especially lovers of contemporary guitar music, looking for something different.

Another November has GREAT KARMA.......2005-11-14

This is an awesome CD, I cannot say enough about it.
The music and the lyrics blew me away. I cannot pick a favorite. All the tracks are great. This band has a TON of talent and I hope to hear them on the radio soon!

This sort of thing makes buying music worthwhile........2005-11-12

Karma Ghost is not an over-engineered, glitzy, talent-free band churning forth music written by some 'professional' composer who's never held a guitar a day in his life and performed by a group of actors whose only dedication to the music is the fact that they get paid. Instead, this is a labor of love by dedicated and talented individuals. Real laughter and tears went into the writing of these songs; mirth and pain into the performances. Every song has a story, and the band members are more than happy to share them.

This is an introductory album, but it doesn't feel like it. There is a synergy between the instruments and the vocals that shines through - and would not come through, perhaps, if the album were engineered and auto-tuned and tweaked into a plastic-wrapped shell of music. It sounds like Karma Ghost is sitting in your car with you, playing music - only, having heard them live, it's unfair to make that comparison; however fun they are to listen to from the studio, the energy and dedication they give off on stage makes it ten times more enjoyable.

Buy a copy, play it for your friends, write them a note to say hello - and find out when their next show is! If you happen to be in the right place at the right time - currently Denver, Colorado - it's a fun-filled time you don't want to miss.

New Indie band with great potential.......2005-11-09

Karma Ghost's first album, Another November, I have to say is not too bad. Most new, independent bands I've listened to before always seemed to having something not quite right. Either out of tune intruments, out of tune lyrics, or the beat and rythem aren't in sync.

This is not the case with Karma Ghost. Although the recording quality and mixing is not quite as good as most of the labeled artists (what can you expect, they're an indie band), the musical talent here is pretty darn good.

I'd say at least give them a try, and hopefully a second album won't be far behind.
