The second Ringo album in a row to miss the charts completely, 1978's Bad Boy ranks right up there with George Harrison's Gone Troppo as the worst album ever released by a member of the Beatles. Produced by schlockmeister Vini Poncia, the clueless nature of record is best summed up by the stiff disco cover of the Supremes' "Where Did Our Love Go," which is actually (and unbelievably) one of Bad Boy's highlights. The other tracks here barely qualify as filler, although Ringo's rendition of the old New Orleans soul classic "Lipstick Traces (On a Cigarette)" does exude some hangdog charm. For the most part, Bad Boy sounds like the work of a man who keeps making records simply because he doesn't know how to do anything else. Poor Ringo. --Dan Epstein

More Good Stuff from a Big Man.......2007-07-20

With 2 discs, Life After Death gives the listener a lot of material by Biggie. Some reviewers criticize this as having some weaker stuff and annoying guest appearances, but I think that's just a function of having a bigger album. Some stuff inevitably will not be as good as the rest. And I think the guest appearances are fine. Lil Kim spews off a foul mouth on one track, but that's what she does in her own stuff. Anyway, there's lots of great raps on her. The album's a bit slicker and more produced, lacking some of the edge of Ready to Die, but I think things as a whole work very well. While maybe not quite as awesome, on a song by song basis, as Ready to Die, this album definitely has enough quality material for the 5 stars. The best raps:

Posthumous greatness .......2007-07-14

This album is Biggie at his best before his music got corrupted by a sniveling weasel named Sean P Giddy Combs. It has guest appearances like 112, Too Short, Jay-z, R. Kelly, The Lox etc but Biggie shines regardless of guest appearances. The album kicks of with vivid storytelling by Biggie on Somebody's Gotta Die but that's not the only track where Biggie tells a great story. N***** Bleed is another cinematic track and Story To Tell is Biggie telling a story of some chick he was messing with whose husband ends up coming home while he's still there. Miss U is a touching tale with some good vocals by 112 on the chorus. Big keeps it true to the MC side of him with tracks like Kick In The Door(Nas Diss), the sinister sounding What's Beef, the first single Hypnotize, My Downfall(feat DMC), Long Kiss Goodnight(obvious 2pac diss but the track could do without Puffy's bipolar ranting. We all know Diddy is a cupcake), Last Day(feat the Lox). I Love The Dough is another highlight which features Jay-z and Angela Winbush as both Jigga and Biggie drop some hot verses on the track. Bone Thugs N Harmony join in on the festivities on Notorious Thugs as everybody delivers some fast-paced verses on the track. Going Back To Cali is Big's ode California and Biggie teaches the rules to the game on Ten Crack Commandments. The album does have its flaws like Playa Hater which is awful and anybody who can tell you that track is tight is borderline insane. Last Day is suspect only because of lackluster verses by The Lox(Biggie killed it!). I never felt The World Is Filled(feat Too Short and Fluff Diddy) and thats another song, with guest appearances where Biggie had the only notable verse(case in point for Mo Money Mo Problems). After that this album is smooth sailing. Biggie has his songs for the ladies like Nasty Boy and F*** You Tonight(feat R. Kelly) which he makes work for him. Lil Kim joins in on the battle of the sexes record Another. 112 makes another appearance on the magnificent Sky's The Limit where Biggie recalls his past. The second disc ends with the gritty You're Nobody (Til Somebody Kills You) as Biggie brings it to you raw and uncut. Bottom Line: The Notorious Big's Life After Death is easily the best rap album of 1997 and is a necessary requirement for any rap fan's collection. Biggie excelled on every track(even when the guest spots didnt) and the production was the best that Bad Boy could get. Standout tracks on Disc 1: SOMEBODY'S GOTTA DIE, HYPNOTIZE, KICK IN THE DOOR, F*** YOU TONIGHT, I LOVE THE DOUGH, WHAT'S BEEF, N***** BLEED and I GOT A STORY TO TELL. Standout Tracks on Disc Two: NOTORIOUS THUGS, MISS U, ANOTHER, GOING BACK TO CALI, TEN CRACK COMMANDMENTS, NASTY BOY, SKY'S THE LIMIT, MY D0WNFALL, LONG KISS GOODNIGHT and YOU'RE NOBODY(Til Somebody Kills You). RIP to Christopher Wallace aka The Notorious Big. Gone But Never Forgotten. There you have it. The most earnest review you'll ever read without the silly arguments about who is the better MC out of Pac and Big. You guys who are still carrying on with this asinine dispute need to agree to disagree and GROW UP!!! You're fools are damn near 40 still carrying on like high school kids. SHAME ON YOU ALL!

Biggy at His Prime.......2007-07-11

The Notorious B.I.G. was a lyrical genius and he showed it on Life After Death. This is the greatest rap double album ever. Biggy mastered his flow and showed his versitility on this album. He told stories, gave us party records, got serious, clowned around, rapped over west coast beats, rhymed fast, and gave us hard core street records. This is the definition of a complete album. Ready to Die was a classic and Biggy took it to another level on this album.

He left the world with his best work before he passed. Biggy had a great ability to make his lyrics very visual. Stories like "Somebody Gots to Die", "Niggas Bleed" and "I Got A Story to Tell" are so good that you can visualize his every word. Biggy had the East Coast on lock and no one in the game could touch him in wordplay. I can not even sit here and start to name the best songs because there were too many.

Biggy dropped two classic albums and was killed while he was still on top. He never lost his spot. Life After Death raised the bar for the game. I would have loved to see B.I.G. grow as an artist and make new music after this record. Unfortunately, his time was cut short, but he left us with a gem that shows his amazing talent....

Biggie's best work!.......2007-07-05

The first album was pretty tight, but this title cd album is Biggie's best work. And even if he was still alive, i'm not so sure that he could really top this one. It's a collector's item.

The greatest album ever released by Biggie & BadBoy Records........2006-12-01

Life After shows Biggie's growth as an artist and man. The storytelling is very cinematic and compelling. This is really a movie on wax for real. The paranoia is also raised on here and for good reason since Biggie spent 1996 fending off Pac's accusations and insults. In short, Biggie was a naturally gifted, personable, smart dude that's greatly missed.

Sean "Diddy" Combs has spent so many years as an entertainment/fashion mogul and tabloid celebrity, that it's easy to forget that he also makes music. Press Play, his first album since 2001's The Saga Continues, is a reminder that whether he's named Puff, Puffy, or Diddy, Combs has a keen sense of what makes a good pop/hip-hop song but that he's also a middling rapper. Listening to Diddy rap in the same monotone flow he's had for years--not to mention his anemic songwriting--is a distracting sonic drag on an otherwise fluidly produced album. There are some excellent tracks, however. Mobb Deep deliver the dark and sinister "The Future" while Rich Harrison knocks out another vigorous workout of a beat for "Making It Hard." The best songs like "Everything I Love" (featuring Nas and Cee-Lo) and the fast, frenetic "Wanna Move" (with Big Boi, Ciara, and Scar) allow Diddy to play a secondary role rather than the main attraction. i think diddy did a great job. he has good hits on here. the song and video with Nicole from the pussy cat dolls is hot. and christina aguilera's voice sounds so good and strong on Tell me. she did a good job. diddy took his time with this album unlike a lot of the "rappers" out there. i don't know why people don't like this album.

2-1/2 stars -- Why? Why? WHY?.......2007-06-23

Let's be honest: was anyone really checking for a new Diddy album? We all know that he was never really the best lyricist, but he still shined when he wanted to ("Diddy", "It's All About the Benjamins"). But his latest album Press Play will have you doing everything BUT that.

Now, Diddy has been known for bringing a slew of guest stars on his albums, especially since his first and third releases credit some variation of "and the family". At first glance, it appears that he is trying to roll for dolo this time around (although that didn't work on Forever), but in actuality, this album is also littered with guest stars, and their performances really aren't that great. And as far as the Bad Boy influence, I can conversely compare this release to posthumous Biggie releases: Biggie was paired with artists he'd probably never work with if he were alive, while here, you'll find people that normally wouldn't be paired with Diddy, like Nas ("Everything I Love") and Big Boi ("Wanna Move").

There are a few tolerable tracks like "After Love" and the necessary song with Mary J. Blige on the hook, "Making It Hard". The best songs, though, would have to be "Come to Me" (with Nicole Scherzinger -- I don't know WHY I like that song so much) and the latest single, "Last Night" featuring Keyshia Cole (but it should really say Keyshia Cole featuring Diddy because Diddy is only on the chorus). But other singers seem to make bad songs even worse, like Brandy ("Thought You Said") and, unsurprisingly, Mario Winans ("Through the Pain"). And if 2006 wasn't such a bad year for collabos, the Christina Aguilera-assisted "Tell Me" would have easily been in the running for my most hated collaborations.

That song also suffers from a hectic beat, which points out another downfall on the album: the production. The beat from the aforementioned "Wanna Move" sounds like it came straight from a Yamaha drum machine, and "Special Feeling" sounds like it was made with a My First Sony. But other songs are just garbage, like "The Future" and especially "Diddy Rock" (and that's also a wack title). Also skippable is "Hold Up", which features Diddy saying that when it comes to foes: "They disturb me, but it's love like tennis." What?

And this damn album is 79 minutes long, too. Basically, as other reviewers have said, the only button you'll really be pressing after listening to Press Play is STOP/EJECT.

this was simply the perfect way to end the legacy. all the hits and no filler. i was even impressed with the new material which has been lacking in his posthumous deaths. a must buy for any biggie fan.

An artist with as influential (and short) a career as Christopher Wallace, aka The Notorious B.I.G., is done a disservice by an album like "Greatest Hits," especially since it was conceived as a tribute to the Brooklyn rapper 10 years after his tragic death.

While half of the release lives up to its premise with choice cuts from B.I.G.'s brief but brilliant studio album output like "Juicy," "Hypnotize" and "One More Chance/Stay With Me," the other half is muddled with posthumously-released cuts that are more vehicles for guest artists like Nelly and Eminem than true Biggie classics.

Removing the layer of artist purity, one would expect radio hits like the massive tribute release "I'll Be Missing You" or duets like "Mo Money, Mo Problems" (with Diddy), especially since minor hits like Junior M.A.F.I.A.'s "Get Money" made the cut. But no, sadly, neither of the first two tracks are anywhere to be found, while the latter track and "Notorious Thugs" (with Bone Thgs-N-Harmony) made it onto the album.

This album is worth it if you're only passively interested in Notorious B.I.G.'s biggest radio hits (and don't mind paying for a lot of filler). Serious fans and B.I.G. beginners should seek out "Ready to Die: The Remaster" and "Life After Death" and call it a day.

Since New Edition and Boyz II Men ceded their R&B group throne of the '80s and early '90s, it's been hard to keep up with the myriad groups that have tried to take their place. But Bad Boy's resident gentlemen, 112, have always stood out from the crowd. Their latest release, Part III, further solidifies the group's appeal. On "It's Over Now," the album's first single, the group does what they do best: combining impressive vocals with Bad Boy's trademark hip-hop production. Likewise, on "Dance with Me," an intricately produced song with an infectious heartbeat bass line, the group reminds listeners that their singing ability is in a league of its own. Part III is not without its shortcomings, however. Songs like "I Think" and "Player," two monotonous attempts at romantic ballads, could have been deleted from the album without being missed. To the group's credit, however, Part III is one of the most varied and truly captivating albums that the R&B world has seen in a long time. Helluva Comeback.......2007-04-26

As I said before, 112's sophomore album "Room 112" showed room for growth and improvement, and they did just that in this CD. A lot of dance hits and slow hits, this album is clearly a junior replica of their debut self-titled album.

4 1/2 Stars... 112's Best Album Period.......2007-03-16

This album was definitely a banger from start to finish. They came heavy with the club bangers in the beginning and smoothed it out in the end. The interludes were on point especially "Q,Mike,Slim,Daron" they killed it. Mike put his heart and soul on "Missing You" whoever was his girl definitely hit a chord. "Dont Be Mad" feat. Twista was definitely bout it with 112 talking about handling another dude's girl. That was a bold song. All the members really shined on this album as far as lead vocals, producing. You really see these gentlemen coming into their craft. Just wish they were still on Bad Boy because they fell off since they went to Def Jam. Good Luck in the future.

Part III is grown & sexy!!.......2006-04-23

112 came HOT with this one--from start to finish! Q, Mike, Slim and Daron showed that they are MEN now and doing more MANLY things ("Peaches & Cream") even if it breaks a few hearts ("Player"). What I liked most about this album was hearing Mike sing lead on more songs than he did on the last two albums. That brother sang his heart out on "Missing You". I knew he could sing, but I didn't realize just how soulful his voice was! I loved all the songs, except for "I Think". It's an okay song, but it's a bit corny and I chuckle every time I listen to it. Other than that, I am still a 112 fanatic!

Lots of People said this one is the best album of 112,
Part III is great for sho',
but actually every 112 album got its point,
I like all of their album!
So I don't think Part III is their best cause all of their album is awesome!

This CD is 112 at their very best. It's the perfect mix of R&B and clubby music. The vocals are smooth, the lyrics are hot...what more can you ask for? Part Three is serious ear candy. If you don't have it, get it!

On his debut album, Carl Thomas offers more of the well-sung, romantic R&B that never seems to fall out of favor. Unfortunately, while the Puffy Combs-executive-produced Emotional is perhaps a must-own for diehard fans of the genre, it seems less than inspired when compared with, say, Brian McKnight's state-of-the-art Back at One. All the elements are in place here--a guest shot by Kelly Price on "Giving You All My Love," a Stevie Wonder sample on "Summer Rain"--but for all its intended late-night aphrodisiacal potential, the music sounds flat in the bright light of day. The hilariously mumbled come-on interlude "Cadillac Rap," though, does hint at what Thomas might be capable of if he dared to buck the formula. --Rickey Wright

Wonderful Album.......2007-04-16

This is a great album to have. Carl Thomas is great in show, he really pours his heart into the music. He is so theatrical in his movements and has great annuciation. My favorite song on the album is "Cold, Cold World" you feel the hurt and emotion in the chorus as Carl pleads, "It's a cold, cold, cold world leaving here without in my life." This album is must have for all true music lovers. Carl incorporates an ol'skool, groovy type feel to the music esp. with "Emotional" ,"Valentine" and"Woke Up This Morning". His soulful style is somewhat reminiscent of an Al Green or Curtis Mayfield. Carl Thomas does not receive as much gratification as he is deserved.

Carl Thomas has definately got it going on when it comes the the old school, fresh sound of R&B. This CD is a must have if you are a true quality music fan. Most of the songs are slow and this is a CD that will be appreciated by the older, more mature crowd. Most of the songs are original and you can play this one all they way through without skipping tracks. I will be truly happy when this talented singer releases some new material. This is excellent late night, cuddle up with your boo music.

This is definitely a timeless cd. It's been years since it's release and I still have it in heavy rotation in my personal collection. This is one of the few cds that you can listen to the whole way through. Carl has a phenominal voice!!! Emotional is a great cd for both the ladies and the fellas who truely love R&B... this has a lot of "slow jams" on it. Some of my personal favorites are 1. All my Love 2. Special Lady 3. Now That's A Helluva Debut.......2007-04-26

112 burst onto the scene strong in 1996 with their self-titled debut CD, which features some awesome love songs such as "This Is Your Day", "Can I Touch You", and their biggest love song off this album "Cupid". With that, and both versions of "Only You" with and without Mase, it's definitely a must-have.

Yes, I wish that 112 could resurrect that formula that they used to create this album. This was just beautiful beautiful. It's one of those rare albums that one can just put in the deck and just let it play. Their second and third albums had some really good songs on them but they lost me after the fourth album. Still, I hope that they can get back on that groove so they can turn out at least one more impressive album before the gravy train pulls into the station.

Ok, the CD has been out for just about 10 years. By far the best 112 CD released, by far one of the best R&B CD's in the last decade. Put the CD in and let it play from start to finish. No recent R&B could ever compare to the stuff thats on this CD.

The album that defined an era.......2007-07-10

The Notorious B.I.G.'s 1994 debut arrived at a turning point for hip hop music. As the old school style from the east coast was slowly growing stale, a new funkier and angrier approach was steadily growing in the form of gangsta rap from the west coast. Then, of course, came "Ready to Die," one of the finest hip hop albums of all time, and one that bridged the gap between the old and new schools. This is the album that introduced the world to the incredible rapper and incredible character that was Christopher Wallace. A young, overweight Brooklyn native, a father, and a former hustler, Biggie impressed listeners not only with his talent but his personality on the mic. Technically, he is not short of amazing. His ingenious punchlines, late-night stories, threats, and jokes are delivered in his raspy, cheeky voice with precise technique, always on time and in a perfect flow. Lyrically, he covers many topics but the quality is ever so consistent. On one song, he'll be telling a story of crime, on the next song he'll be poking fun at a ghetto loser, or seducing a woman, nostalgically reminiscing over the past, or dramatically philosophizing about the meaning of life and death. His verses are all meticulously written and never lose your attention. Another reason "Ready to Die" is so great is the production. The young Sean Combs anchors a production team that uses extensive, clever sampling to create a unique musical backdrop for Biggie. The album is well divided between radio friendly singles and harder, darker songs that would be too rough for radio. The hardcore tracks inspired an entire generation of grimy New York rappers that would reign towards the late 1990s, but the influence of the popular singles could also be felt on urban radio for years to come. "Ready to Die" is an absolutely classic hip hop album and one of the finest ever, a must have for any collection.

The album begins with a dramatic intro, which gives way to "Things Done Changed," a well-produced and ironic look back at Biggie's humble roots. "Gimme the Loot" is one of the songs that shows his lyrical genius, where he plays multiple characters in a conversation, creating a classic track. "Machine Gun Funk" is an upbeat, funky cut sampling a song by Lords of the Underground for the hook. On the excellent "Warning," Biggie again plays multiple characters during conversation, before dropping philosophy on backstabbers and issuing threats. The title track follows accordingly, as does the original mix of "One More Chance," a song to a woman about their relationship (the more popular remix is not included on the tracklist). Perhaps my favorite song is the Method Man collaboration "The What," a song where the two depressed MCs drop some dark knowledge and philosophy over a great beat. It doesn't get much better than having two of New York's finest rappers over a solid 1994-styled beat. "Juicy" is an absolute classic, an emotional and effective rags-to-riches look at his upbringing, effectively sampling an 80s R&B hit by Mtume. Another of my favorites is the hopeful "Everyday Struggle," which is blessed with the nicest beat on the album, a sunny, clever production over which Biggie recounts the troubles of trying to get by. "Me & My B..." is a humorous and enjoyable tune, followed by the unforgettable hit "Big Poppa." This song has a perfect, Isley Brothers-sampling beat, a head-nodding funker, and shows the humorously seductive BIG at his finest. The well done "Respect" and catchy "Friend of Mine" are worthy deep-album cuts, and the DJ Premier-produced "Unbelievable" has an unforgettable chorus and production. The album closes with one of his most stunning works, "Suicidal Thoughts," a depressing insight of life from a suicidal person.

Overall, "Ready to Die" is inspiring, beautiful, and immensely entertaining. This album doesn't sound like it has aged a bit, and even thirteen yeras later sounds as fresh and incredible as the day it dropped. Listeners of any age should be able to appreciate this masterpiece, it's so consistent that there's not one piece of skip material over seventeen tracks. Unarguably one of the finest hip hop albums ever, I cannot recommend it any higher.

Today, the black covered "Remaster" is the only version in print as far as I know, because last year some lawsuits emergedo over sampling issues. The remaster includes two bonus tracks, "Who Shot Ya?" and "Just Playing," both worthy additions to the tracklist. Also, the DVD is a welcome bonus, with videos and live performances. It's a pretty nice package for a good price.

Biggie's Best!.......2007-04-09

Although Life After Death was excellent, Ready to Die was a landmark album. It is cool to hear the angrier Biggie on some songs and an others the smooth, slick Biggie we all know. His flow is outstanding and his lyrics and content truly capture his life's story. It will always remain one of the top hip hop albums of all time.

The Album That Set The Year '94 (Rating: 10 out of 10- -5 stars).......2006-12-14

Can anyone forget this album? This album (as well as Nas' "Illmatic" were the front runners of the year 1994. Christopher "Notorious B.I.G. (Biggie Smalls)" Wallace debuted with this album with the lead single "Juicy". A rags to riches song that still gets played here in 2006. Biggie's lyrical skills were excellent. I hear a lot of rappers (who I will be here all day naming) saying excellent lines that came from Biggie. I think to myself "Damn, this guy said everything".

The album is excellent too. A lot of these songs are about drugs, robbing, and what not. Big was just rhyming about things that he went through before he had a record deal, trying to survive and eat. Who could blame him? "Give Me The Loot" is one of those songs about his struggles (some words were edited in this song. I'm pretty sure rhyming about robbing a pregnant woman was going to gain some negative attention). "Machine Gun Funk" is self explanitory on how a good song it was. "Warning" was a short song and video about people targeting him for his money. "One More Chance" is a great song about how he gets his females. The song would be remixed and made into a video a year later, but both versions sound great.

Guest appearances are only one. Method Man, back when his rhyme skills were phenomonal, would rhyme on "The What". Classic track if you ask me.

Production was by Mr. Cee, Puff Daddy, and Easy Mo Bee. True, Puffy might be the "king of beat jacking" and what not, but he did a damn good job with them. The Isley Brothers "Between The Sheets" would be made into the classic single "Big Poppa" was one of them.

This album was pulled off the shelves earlier of this year, because of unauthorized sampling on this album. But recently I've seeing it back on shelves. I guess it got settled. I bought this back in 2003 when it had the origonal white album cover. If you purchased this in 2004, you get the album with a few extra tracks like the more popular "One More Chance (Remix)". And you get the DVD with all the videos that came from this album. This album had a heavy impact in 1994, is a classic and is a must have for any hip hop collection. Most of these songs are rehashed into choppy verses on his postmothous albums unfortunately. But this is where most of them origonally came from. Biggies legacy helped influenced a laundry list your favorite rappers today, who bite his style. That alone should explain how this impacted hip hop. Word.

Classic album, has to be in your collection.......2007-01-22

I love this album. I was 12 years old, soon to be 13 when Faith dropped her debut album. I can honestly say that when I first heard it, I fell in love with her voice. She has a God given talent, and not many singers out there can sing like she can. I have to replace this cd, because my favorite song, Soon as I get Home, is scratched up. I hate that: having scratched up cds, lol. For all of you out there that don't have this album, please believe me when I say buy it. You won't be disappointed, and by the way, Valentines Day is coming up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Takes me back to when R&B was good.......2007-01-10

Faith Evans, 1995 debut Faith was released in the fall of my eigth grade year. I remeber the first time I heard Soon As I Get Home and instantley liked this song. The Aaron Hall featured remix was even better, the other single from the disc You Used To Love Me was a classy chilled out number. Evans builds on a basic, hip-hop-influenced funk, alternating between simmering grooves and sultry ballads making the album is a first-class debut.

Faith Evans - Faith.......2007-01-10

This for me has to be one of my favorites for 1995. In my opinion this is the best album by Faith Evans. When I first got the album I just got it for a few songs, then I found myself taking time to listen to the other songs on the album, and I found myself liking each song on the album. As you know most the time when you buy an album you usually get it for the single(s), but with this album I feel a lot of the filler songs should have been singles also. If you take time to listen to a lot of the songs you'll see that unlike most artists out now, Faith Evans can actually sing, and that she's really talented. Whenever I hear this album it keeps me longing for many 90s artists to come back, because a lot of these people out now don't really know what there doing, I liked a lot of the music from the 90s because the beats were simple but still good, and if you had talent, you had talent, meaning it wasn't easy to get away with not being able to sing well. But now as many of you know it's "Image over talent."

Definite Show Stoppers.......2007-07-20

This was a great debut for DK. The songs are all really good. The girls blended vocals quite well and the lyrics were well written. The beats and production also compliment the album quite nicely. The content is relatable and while it consists of common topics, they are done in a refreshing way. 3-1/2 stars -- Good album, but they should really consider switching labels.......2007-04-20

I remember sometime last summer I was watching MTV Hits, and they were literally playing anything Danity Kane-related nonstop all one weekend: they had the girls in the studio, "Show Stopper" was being showcased continuously, and the ladies were even counting down their favorite videos. So it's no surprise that I got sick of them pretty quickly. But I finally listened to their self-titled album and I found that it's better than most albums from "manufactured" groups.

If people don't understand why I say they should switch labels, I attribute it to past experience. The ladies said in interviews that they are so glad to be on Bad Boy. But I'm been looking at Bad Boy's track record for the past few years, and what being on that label seems to mean NOW is that Diddy will release two songs from your album and then forget about you. Case in point: Dream, New Edition, 8Ball & MJG, Mase (think Welcome Back era), B5, Da Band...should I go on?

Anyway, since these five ladies were brought together on Making the Band, some people might want to easily write them off as some manufactured no-talents, but that's actually far from the case. While I'm not sure what "Danity Kane" is supposed to mean, and I agree with the other reviewers when they said that Aundrea is the best singer (and she's definitely a sight for sore eyes), the group as a whole still produce some good songs. I'm starting to like "Show Stopper" more than I used to (even though I'm not a big fan of Yung Joc), but there are better songs than that, like "One Shot".

But the album's best moments are when the ladies slow things down, like "Ride For You", "Right Now" and especially "Stay With Me". Still, there are a few times when the songs feel disposable, like "Back Up". "Heartbreaker" seems to contradict itself, and the hidden track "Sleep On It" will make you want to do just that. But Danity Kane do prove that the era of good R&B singing groups isn't dead, so pick it up.

Disappointment.......2007-03-28

The two stars i gave this album was only because I like the song Show Stopper so much. I thought the rest of the album would be similar. It is like a sad drawn out drama. It is horrible would not reccommend to anyone. Get the single

When I first bought this CD it was just for the song "Ride For You"...B/c I am in love with that song.. I saw Making The Band 3 and of course I knew they'd have a few good hits but, I didn't know the whole CD was going to flow like this!!!...I'm definitely a fan and I hope to hear more from Danity Kane!

Puffy's Best Release.......2007-07-31

I'm not a Puff fan but this album was on point. Have you ever had an album that reminds you of someone? My cousin was killed when this album dropped and every time I play it, it takes me back to August 1997 with all the drama surrounding. This album was my release. It keeps my cousins memory alive. Almost every track on this album was tight. Puff hasn't come close to anything like this since but this joint was tight.

Hell Up in Harlem.......2007-06-13

I've been accused in the past of being disrespectful to the rap genre and its artists. Excuse me for being a black person who's tired of seeing blacks disgrace themselves for the sake of a dollar. No, I don't like Ludacris or Snoop Dogg and other men who make millions for saying 100 times worse things about black women than what Don Imus got fired for. But, I can be open minded, and I can enjoy some hip hop. No Way Out was a hot album released back in 1997 during a time when rap music still had some things going for it. It was originally titled Hell Up in Harlem, but was changed after Notorius BIG's death. Yes, P.Diddy at the time was a sampling fool, but he was a talented sampler. And this music is very entertaining. P.Diddy is not an admirable person in my book, but this album and other albums he produced in the 90s shows he knew a thing or two about entertaining. What happened in the 21st century, though?

There is no modern day rap song like It's All About the Benjamins. I bought this album on tape back in '97 and loaned it to someone who is not interested in returning it, so I had to get the cd. I could have lived without it if not mainly for ...Benjamins and the fact I could get it used here for a penny. I was disappointed, however, to realize the word "He/\brews" had been edited out in my copy despite it being the adult version. What is up with this? Since when is "stack chips like He/\brews" an off limits phrase? It's an uncensored rap album. Nothing should be edited.

Highlights: It's All About the Benjamins, I Love You Baby, I'll Be Missing You(despite it being shorter than the radio version), Victory, Been Around the World, Can't Nobody Hold Me Down, and Do You Know.

Cool Jiggy Hip Hop.......2006-12-14

Back in 1997, Puff Daddy & the Bad Boy Camp Owned the radio. While this album was no nowhere near as good in the lyrics department as say Nas or Jeru The Damja it wans't meant to be. This CD is a party CD staright out and while songs like Is This The End and If I Should Die Tonight have deeper meaning the majoirty of the singles like Been Around The World, Can't Nobody Hold Me Down and Don't Stop are just plain fun. I love New York HIP HOP but every now then it's cool to have some fun and this album is just that.

The Down-Fall of Hip-Hop.......2006-10-24

I respect Biggie. I'm more of an old school fan though, so I can't say that I listen to his music very much, but I have total respect for him; along with 2Pac as well. I just wonder HOW much more influential he would have been in the Hip-Hop community if Puff Daddy hadn't had walked all over his grave.
I saw VH1's Hip-Hop Honors last week (which was a great show by the way), where they payed tribute to some of the most influential rappers of all time, including Rakim, KRS-One, and Africa Bambaataa, and to pay tribute to The Beastie Boys, they put together a threesome of Q-Tip, Fabulous, and (guess who...) Puff Daddy, to rap The Beastie Boy's legendary Paul Revere. Q-Tip and Fabulous were terrific, as they are more in-tune to the old school style, but every word that came out of Puff Daddy's mouth was absolutely painful. I was shocked to discover that VH1 had actually ALLOWED Puff Daddy to be in the presence of some of the greatest rappers to have ever graced this earth. Rappers who Puff Daddy could offer NO tribute to since all his music has ever done is bring down everything they had established back in the late 80s and early 90s.
Puff Daddy is what I consider to be the down-fall of Hip-Hop in the mid 90s. He was, and still is, such a predictable producer and promoter of music. I don't even care to listen to his new album, Press Play, because I already know exactly what it will sound like; typical mainstream radio pop. I can't exactly understand his motives, although it probably is simply for the love of money or fame, but all I know is that around the time of No Way Out, Hip-Hop began to take a tremendous nose-dive into a Hip-Hop world dominated by mainstream trash. I just wish that Puff Daddy didn't have to throw away everything that Biggie and 2pac and DOZENS of other rappers before them had established.

Puff Daddy - No Way Out.......2006-10-15

With the death of The Notorious B.I.G. behind him, Sean "Puffy" Combs aka Puff Daddy released his first solo album, "No Way Out." Even though some if not most of it was recorded before Biggie's death, some of the album reflects what occurred on that horrible night and also keeps his memory alive. Can Puff pull an Eazy-E on us and come out of the C.E.O.'s position and make a hot album?

This is definitly a good album for someone who doesn't write his own lyrics. Mostly all the tracks could have been radio hits and some of them are even classics. Puff's goal was to show the world that Bad Boy Records could still make hits without Biggie and by god he proved just that. R.I.P. B.IG.!
