Not too bad, but not too great either.......2004-07-13

I bought the 7 disc set and was happy with the variety of the song selections. However, several of the songs are blurred on the screen and unreadable. Another issue I had is that some lyrics for a few of the songs are incorrect (I had to use a search engine on the internet to get the correct lyrics). If you buy these discs, do not have a high expectation for music quality.

Don't listen to the other guy. He obviously doesn't know what a karaoke machine is. The words do come up on the screen. If you are an 80's fan, and into karaoke, this is a must have! I wish they would come up with a volume 2 of this title.

I can't believe I ordered this cd thinking it would be great for a party I've got coming up. Obviously you need some kind of unique karaoke machine instead of the standard one I've got. The lyrics supposedly come up on a tv screen when you use a certain machine. And they don't provide printed lyrics. Total waste.

Lots of errors, and some awful BG vocals down this CDG.......2002-12-22

Top Tunes tries to recreate some of the best known hits of last century. However, it doesn't do that, and only makes you wonder why you wasted 20 bucks on a CDG that has alot of errors for the lyrics to well-known songs, when you could've gotten a better sounding and better looking CDG (like Sybersound or Sound Choice) for less than you paid for this piece of garbage.

There are alot of hits on here, including Margeretaville, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and I've Got You Babe. Many, however, can be found on other CD-Gs. Top Tunes blotches up many of the lyrics, misspelling words and having lyrics out of place (some lyrics they show aren't even CLOSE to the actual lyircs, and/or are not even IN the song AT ALL). This makes you look like a fool in a karaoke bar when people can sing it much better WITHOUT the words on the screen.

The music recreations sound something like a synthesizer recording underwater. It's either too weak to accomidate the song, or just plain out there, not caring about which instrument is used to play that staff of intrumentals.

Finally, some of these BG vocals should have NEVER chose a job behind the mic. Just listen to "It's My Party" on HERE, and you'll know what I mean. It's My Party's BG vocals sould like a choir of nuns than anything that accomidates the real song, and if you look anywhere else on these CDs for better BG vocals, you will, but not by much.

In short, I don't know if TT just messed this one up, or if this is just their idea of a good CDG for all of their products. Either way, you shouldn't waste your time with this one. Go for anything by Sybersound, MTV, or Sound Choice, and stear clear of this screwed-up failure.
