It was a short run but a sweet one--for those, anyway, who could hear the real craft that went into David Cassidy's ghost vocals for his Keith Partridge character. Post-Monkees studio pop whose occasional lite-blue mood you can take (or leave) just as seriously as you want to, this singles collection has its moments of real genius: not just "I Think I Love You" but also the mini-Spector "I Woke Up in Love This Morning," which recapitulates the theme. --Rickey Wright

Great Collection.......2007-04-12
Anyone can argue over what has been omitted or included for we all have our Partridge favorites. The important thing is it is an excellent overview of those very happy years and as another reviewer said - is remastered for the best sound quality yet with any of these collections.
It is an awesome listen and stays in my cd carousel all the time. A definite must for fans.
Good, But Could Be Better..........2007-02-09
Obviously, David had a hand...maybe the sole hand...in this song selection. Although he hates Doesn't Somebody Want to be Wanted, that is no excuse for leaving it off a greatest hits collection, since it was one of the highest charting PF singles. (Apparently he hates the song because he hates talking (not singing) during a song, a la Elvis' Are You Lonesome Tonight. But then why doesn't he object to his talking in Echo Valley 26809, which he includes in this set??) Also, if he was going to include songs after his Bell label days, why did he stop at I Write the Songs and Darlin' (which is a terribly truncated version) and not include, say, Lyin' to Myself? He should simply have gone solely with the 1970-1974 period. And You Are Always On My Mind instead of, say, Friend and a Lover, or Brown Eyes, or Point Me, or so many other great choices??!
Anyway, it still includes most of the best PF/DC songs, and for that, it is definitely worth a purchase!

Plus & Minus + 5 stars.......2006-12-15
This collection gives an overall view of Cassidy & Partridge hits and most popular songs. Minus the hits & singles Doesn't Somebody Want To Be Wanted, David's least favorite track, as well as Am I Losing You, Friend And A Lover, Looking For a Good Time, Daydream and Please Please Me. I Am A Clown is the edited version and If I Didn't Care is the unedited version. Could It Be Forever sounds slightly different, but not sure why.
The sound quality is the best I have heard so far from any Partridge Family or David Cassidy CD! It gives a fatter and fuller feel as the original LP's do. Summer Days, One Night Stand, You Are Always On My Mind and Ricky's Tune some of the added tracks not usually found on previous collections.
The artwork is minimal and the inside info is skimpy. The fact that it has been remastered is what makes this a CD to have.

Greatest But Not The Latest!.......2005-05-08
PF fans are a little different from David Cassidy fans, oddly enough and when they compile the 2 together, everyone gets upset! David Cassidy included 3 PF hits on his Greatest Hits(1974) to make the LP have more buying power. They would have been better off adding his own 3 much sought after hits Daydream, the non lp B-sides All I Wanna Do Is Touch You (b/w Cherish) and Frozen Noses (b/w If I Didn't Care)
This collection includes David Cassidy's first 2 hits Cherish and Could It Be Forever and 14 PF favorites. The openning theme Come On Get Happy arks the first time release on a PF collection. It also includes How Long Is Too Long from Bulletin Board (STILL not available on CD!) The rest are their hits and most noteable album tracks like Summer Days, One Night Stand and Point Me In The Direction Of Albuquerque.
Missing in this collection are the hits Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, Friend And A Lover, Walking In The Rain and their last single released in 1973-4 Looking For A Good Time. Also, there is no inclusion of any material from Crossword Puzzle.
So the only reason to have this in your collection is for How Long Is Too Long. Otherwise choose the Definitive Collection or the New Very Best for hard to get stuff.
