This is the cd I turn to when I've had a bad day, when I need a pick me up, or when I just want to relax and here a beautiful voice sing amazingly heartfelt lyrics. Corrinne will truly make you feel, "Safe in a Crazy World"

With her angelic voice, Corrinne May's second CD is just as wonderful as her first. I am looking forward to more from this great artist!

A Zen Like CD.......2007-01-19

First time I heard Corrinne May I was on a Singapore airline flight. I fell in love with her "Every Beat of my Heart". I had just fallen in love and was traveling with my love, my MAK. Every word of the song, every beat of the song, synchronized with every beat of my heart and kept me in my heart which was filled with love for him, for the love that was consuming me, for the love I had for every moment of my life and for the love I felt for everyone & everything. I synced his music player with mine and when Corrinne sang:

"Cause I don't know
Where your journey goes
Or how long it will take to unfold
But as long as we keep this moment shining in the dark
I will be watching over every beat of your heart"

I'd put my hand on his heart and feel the tenderness and fragility of his heart in my heart. I knew with certainty that the tenderness and fragility in my heart had made a connection with tenderness and fragility of his heart when I was filled with ecstasy and grace.

As I listened to her other songs, I noticed that I like them as well so I decided to buy the CD. It took a while to find her CD (not in stores in US) and even longer to order it. My soul searching is very intense lately and that might be why I now find heart drawn to another song on this CD, "Everything in its Time".

Her songs talk to me because she writes from everyday life material and sings from her heart. That is why as I go through my life, I relate to different songs of hers. Of course, this greatly influences how I rate the CD; how it connects to me, how it warms my heart and Not the sophistication of the music, the voice, the arrangement, the quality of the recording, etc. Still, I am sure my holistic experience would not have been so great without the quality of all aspects which make this a great CD. I plan to give it as Gift to those whom I hold close to heart.

not as good as her first.......2006-01-27

When I got this album I was a little disappointed. Most of the songs on here are generic pop. There just isn't that many beautiful songs on this album as on her last one. It is more upbeat than the last one though. I was hoping for more pretty songs though. The best songs on here are 'Angel in Disguise' and 'Safe in a Crazy Wolrd' in my opinion. The other songs arn't bad but they don't suite my taste. The lyrics on most of the songs are good and meaningful, that's not the problem. I think the music itself sounds a little over processed and a little too much like regular pop. I think the cymbals(drums and percussion) are over used, In my opinion they ruins some of the songs such as 'The Birthday Song' and 'Every Beat of My Heart'.

Still it's an ok album and personally I think it's worth it if you can get it used on Amazon. It just isn't as special as her first one. Listen to longer samples at CDBaby.com .

Exquisite and honest.......2005-12-17

Corrinne's voice is crystal clear and gentle. With this most recent cd Corrinne has truly evolved into a sensation. The tracks on this cd are each individual, lovingly written vignettes of life.

She does not force her voice toward you yet the result of hearing her music is indelible. She complements her vocal clarity with her accompished piano in waves of emotion. Corrinne's music is hers and when she sings the whole experience of listening is honest. Her melodies here are hardly ephemeral, they're quite memorably lovely but it's her warmth that you carry with you once you've been struck by her music.

Corrinne knows how to sing to your soul. Her words speak to your heart and tug at your emotions. She's a beautiful woman, with a beautiful voice, and a knack for writing songs. A hit in Singapore and a rising star in the U.S.
Corrinne is one of the few female singers I listen to.
Well worth the price.

I am completely delighted with this CD! Corrinne May has the voice of an angel. The entire CD is is a positive, joyful listening experience.

simple but great.......2006-01-27

Most of the songs on here are pretty sad. There's not a whole lot of instruments on here, it's mostly piano and guitar. The music is not complex but it's pretty and has actual melodies which a lot of pop music is missing today. Every song on here sounds good to me at least. If you're not sure listen to the samples. My favorite songs on here are 'Fly Away', it's about the sadness a mother experiences when her child grows up and leaves home, 'Fall to Fly', 'Mr Beasley unplugged' which is the happiest song on the disc and 'Walk Away' which is about an abusive relationship . Guys don't worry, this is not just a CD for women, you'll enjoy it too, I did. This is really beautiful music.

The price of the CD itself is kind of expensive and you can't really find it used. Still though it's worth the $16 plus shipping.

Beautiful Music, meaningful words.......2005-05-31

This is a CD to treasure and to give to friends. Indeed, I have done so and all my friends home and abroad have enjoyed it very much. I love the wonderful tunes, her friendly voice, her exact piano playing and meaningful lyrics. But what really touches me is her luminous personality and strong values that shine through in the way she exceutes her songs and in her lyrics. Corrinne is a wonderful change from the normal image of the musicians that throng the popular music world.

Interesting Refreshment.......2005-04-19

This CD is just a little different to stand on its own. Take a clean well balance emotional female singer with great range, add some lite jazz & pop hooks to some unique modal changes, play with mostly guitar or piano backup, & wrap within great sound production. The only thing missing is the lyrics. Sometimes you can guess what the next word will be & some songs come close to Christian Pop Rock because of the subject matter (Is she singing about God, humanity, or a boyfriend/lover in most of the songs?), but don't worry, this CD is way above that style.

Are you tired of all the gloom & doom of modern Pop? Do you want something refreshing? Do you want to smile as you drive down the freeway? Give this CD a spin to clear the air.

This cd has an angelic quality.. I have never heard the carols sung here more reverently performed.. moreover they are classicly done, and Corrinne May's voice shines through the new arrangements like that star over Bethlehem must have shown for all mankind back on that magic birthday, the birthday of Our Lord, Jesus. Best Christmas album I ever heard and Mays best.......2006-12-03

It's great to finally hear a Christmas album that is actually about Christmas(and even suitable for Easter). You won't find any of that Red Nosed Raindeer garbage here. All the songs are beautiful and fairly calm, but they are not boring, that's for sure. The songs you probably heard before, but the way they have been arranged they sound fresh yet still kind of have the melody of the originals.

In my opinion this is Mays best album. This is one I'll be enjoying around the year as well.
