This is one of my all-time, most-favorite albums. I have the original vinyl and recently discovered the reissue on CD. Had to have it.

You may remember the TV series for which he sang the title song. Joey also did a multitude of songs for other TV series including "Hunter" and others. I understand he also had a lounge act in Las Vegas which I wish I could have experienced.

Every song is a gem! I owned a white, 3-piece suit in the 80's. Believe it or not!!!

How Very Sad.......2006-07-12

How very sad that Joey Scarbury has, to date, never followed up this hidden early 1980's gem with another album for us to enjoy. This was my first album as a kid - and like other reviewers, I begged my parent's for it out of love for the songs I heard each week on The Greatest American Hero TV series. Though only two songs on the album were actually used on the show ("Some Of My Old Friends" and of course "Believe It Or Not") it is a great collection of tunes... I waited for an actual soundtrack of the series to come out, or at the very least a follow up album...and waited...and waited... but alas...it is as though My. Scarbury had dropped into mystery. Sacrbury's voice is "real" and "natural" and "distinct"... the songwriting on the album is also top notch..."There Is A River" is a beautiful song...

Listeners should note the great folks who worked on this album such as Stephen Geyer and Bruce Hornsby... Sacrbury has done SO much in music (especially for film and television)... and his many 45 RPM singles can still be found floating around on eBay and at record conventions. With the advent of this new re-master of his only full album, let's hope he re-surfaces and treats us all to his voice again. Check this record out and just listen to his pipes. It is hard to find real singers these days, who use their voice as an instrument: Scarbury does just THAT. Sweet album.

great cd.......2006-05-20

I had an old LP that has long since died and had a tough time finding anything online. I was very surprised to see the recent release and tickled to death that I get to listen to some music from my childhood that I loved. Loved the show and love this CD. Glad to see that they released this cd and look forward to listening to some songs from my youth.

A fun CD for old "Greatest American Hero" fans.......2005-12-05

I grew up with "The Greatest American Hero" TV series and have always been a fan of that show. I owned this Joey Scarbury album on cassette back when it was first released as a compliment to the show.

To be honest, the music on this CD is a far cry from the music I would ever normally listen to. But as I am a fan of, "The Greatest American Hero" TV series, I was so sorry that they changed the majority of the music for the DVD release of that show. This CD is the only way to hear the songs - or type of songs - that used to be such an integral part of that TV series.

So, this CD in it's own right is not something I would have ever likely have found or chosen to listen to on my own. Honestly, I don't know that it is such a great album. But hearing it now, I like it a lot and it does bring a rush of nostalgic associations to the TV series as it used to be, and memories of my life when I owned the cassette tape way back when....

I also had the original LP version. It's great that it is now on CD. The show is one of my personal favorite as well as the CD. What would have been a great bonus for this CD would have been an extra CD a soundtrack from the show, like Desperado and maybe the instrumental version of Greatest American Hero (ending credits).
Another great is WKRP In Cincinnati. Somebody buy the rights to this classic gem and make it availible on DVD!
