Does the world really need the glorious pop gems of Abba to be slavishly rerecorded by a bunch of Swedish teenagers? The answer in this case is no. The A*Teens alter the near-perfect disco anthems with only hints of more modern, high-tech tweaks. By staying true to the tunes, the A*Teens are really just a tribute band, lacking in any imagination, irony, or insight into how to introduce such songs as "Mamma Mia" and "Dancing Queen" to the next generation. Those familiar with Bjorn, Agnetha, Frida, and Benny, after all, are probably already familiar with Gold, which showcases most of these tracks and renders The Abba Generation redundant. And those who can't stomach the sugar-coated sprightliness of "Take a Chance on Me" wouldn't touch this tribute with an old platform shoe, anyway. Unplayable CD due to copy protection.......2007-07-26

I bought this CD to play on my computer at work. However, it has a copy protection software on it that Universal Music created back in the 1990s, and it crashes when you try to use it on a modern computer. The only way to "open" the CD is to let it install a piece of software on your computer called "Universal Media Player". That software is supposed to make the music tracks on the CD available to you. But when you try to start the music, the software crashes. Universal Music probably thought they were so brilliant back in 1999, but instead they've created worthless CDs. Oops!

This cd was terrific. They are fresh, fun, and sound great. Very good for dancing too.

5. Voulez-Vous - 20/10 THE BEST!!! Very danceable
6. S.O.S. - 9/10 one of the best; but it is too fast
7. Dancing Queen - 9/10 everyone loves this song at one point; cool
8. Take A Chance On Me - 10/10 So hot!!!!
9. Lay All Your Love On Me - 7/1- not a fan of it, could use more beats
10. The Name Of The Game - 10/10 OOMG !!!
11. Our Last Summer - 6/10 lame/ the only bad song on here

Overall the abba generation is like 100 out of 10.... it is a phat album, very easy to dance to.... very awesome beats && this album will never die.

&& You should buy this album, this was like my 7th time buying it, yes, it is that GOOD

Abba Teens.......2006-07-17

A-Teens' debut album, remakes 11 Abba covers. They actually sound a lot like Abba, like that 'old sounding' sound to it, only with a dancier beat. I recommend Abba Generation to anyone who likes Abba's music

I am one that does not like ABBA at all..the A-TEENS are definately my choice with these songs they are upbeat and very nice to listen to..A must have if you like either the ATEENS or ABBA even if you dont like ABBA you are likely to like this cd!!even my ABBA obsessed hubby likes this one !!!!!!LOL!!!!!

I can only say one thing... wow! Every song on here is SO COOL!

1. Dancing Queen (Pierre J's Main Radio Mix)- This is a cool mix of Dancing Queen, It isn't too different from the origional, just with brighter sounds and a louder Piano.

2. Mamma Mia (The Bold and the Beautiful Glamourmix Edit)- Really cool sound to it! This is one of my favorites!

3. Super Trouper (W.I.P)- I like this one a lot! Every remix of Super Trouper on this CD is REALLY great!

4. Mamma Mia (Giuseppe Remix)- THIS IS MY FAVORITE REMIX OF MAMMA MIA! It has this great electronica feel to it!!!!

5. Super Trouper (The Bold and the Beautiful Glamourmix)- This one is really cool. It's much faster with a really neat Bongo intro!!

6. Dancing Queen (BTS Gold Edition Mix)- THIS IS SO GOOD!!! My favorite remix of Dancing Queen!!!!

7. Super Trouper (Super Super Remix)- It's nine minutes long, and my least favorite of the Super Trouper remixes but the remixer did a good job in keeping it interesting all the way through...

8. Gimme Gimme Gimme (Earthbound Late Show Remix)- Right from beat one I LOVED this one! I have always liked Earthbound's remixes.

9. Super Trouper (Pinocchio Remix)- They changed the recognizable tune of it, but once you get past that its great!

10. Mamma Mia (Trouser Enthusiasts' Undying Dub)- It isn't the BEST, but i don't dislike it...

11. Happy New Year (Extended Version)- Very good! Before you know it, the song has been 8 minutes aready!

12. A*Teens Medley (Pierre J's Full Length Mix)- WOW This is SO cool! It isn't necessarily a remix, but it's so cool that I usually listen to it first!

I'v only heard the Super Trouper Pinocchio Remix and the Dancing Queen Pierre J's Mix.There really cool.By the names of all the other remixes I'd have to say they are good too.All though I wish they would have put the Mamma Mia Jam Lab Remix On the CD.
It also would have been nice if they made A remix for Voulez-Vous
,S.O.S.,Lay All Your Love On Me and mabey atleast 2 more for Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!.But I think it is good enough the way it is.-Dorian Galindo P.S.(I also wrote a review for the ABBA generation)

This CD is soo great! I wish that every pop act of today would release an album with all of their remixes on it. My favorite mix is "The Bold & The Beutiful Glamourmix" of "Super Trouper". I totally recommend this to A*Teens fans!

i have all the uk, usa and european singles and maxi singles, so there was no need for me to buy this cd, but all the remixes are excellent, i have all of them - as a rule i generally perefer remixes to the original. if you like club, or dance music you will have to hear these, especially the mamma mia and gimme gimme gimme remixes. it doesnt include the spanish version of happy new year, only the extended and isnt enhanced as some places say, but you should definately get it. (...)

This CD is perfect for every A*Teens fan! ....All the remixes are totaly awsome! Buy this CD now! Oh, it is imported from Japan, but the music is in English. I just thought you should know, because that is what I was a little unsure of.

A*Teens are the best band ever!.......2001-07-14

This is a CD you can listen to all the way through! Super Trouper, One of Us, and Take a Chance on Me are my favorites! I think it has more good songs than Teen Spirit (The A*Teens second album) but I wouldn't trade either one in for any cd! You can let your kids listen and not have to worry like some other pop groups. All in all A*Teens are cool. I'm reviewing theUSA version.

A- TEENS, clean.......2001-03-07

First of all, I was a huge ABBA fan as a kid. This new updated version is perfect for today's kids. As a mom, I have to worry about the inuendoes and contents of all the music. I am so glad that the A Teens are shining with cleanliness. My two kids enjoy them, too. The music on this CD still contains that bubble gum sound of the 70's and 80's but isn't that why we listened to ABBA in the first place? They are the best copy of the original. Buy this CD!

Disapointing for sure.!.......2001-01-29

I think its pretty sad that a group is put together to ONLY SING ABBA COVERS!!!Maybe you don't know who Abba was,but they were a Swedish pop group of two married couples with WHOLE LOTTA HITS!!!And these are just a bunch of wannabe kids,sure they can sing pretty well(at least the girls anyways)...The only song I've heard the guys sing is was "Bouncing off the ceiling." and it was all to great...Trust me don't waste your money on the US version let alone the import version its not worth your money.! When this group starts putting out original songs then maybe I'll listen,but untill then my ears are plugged...

This CD is SO great!! The bonus track, Knowing Me Knowing You, is FABULOUS!! Also, the Mamma Mia and Super Trouper Remixes on this are also great! The Mamma Mia Jam Lab Remix is basically the same as the original, but more bass and other stuff is added. The Super Trouper Pinocchio Remix is the best Super Trouper remix! It sounds great. Also, Knowing Me Knowing You is very techno and just sounds great!

I've been a huge fan of the A*Teens for a while, and I've met them. After I got this cd, I was addicted to it for a long time. I wouldn't stop listening to it. I especially loved their cover of "The Name Of The Game"...it's really quite beautiful! And "Knowing Me, Knowing You" was an excellent bonus. I'm very glad I got this version of the album, as I'm the only one of my friends who has it! The A*Teens are perfect. Along with S Club 7 and Steps.
