Roll your eyes or--worse--invoke the Spice Girls all you want: Don't cha wish your girlfriend was hot like any one of the members of this revolving collective? Dissing the Pussycat Dolls is like denying you want a peek at the Victoria's Secret runway show--a foolhardy stance nobody's going to believe anyway. Never mind, for a moment, the semi-lewd pleasures of the disc's visuals (midriffs galore!): the pop on parade by this gang of writhers and eyelash-batters isn't bad. Nicole Scherzinger, a former member of the failed prefab teen pop act Eden's Crush, brings it with determination and carefully distributed shots of sweetness. More important, she gets high-wattage help. Busta Rhymes, Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am, and Timbaland all step in to dress up the Dolls' sound, and the songwriters' and producers behind PCD clearly know how to sexify a disc without sinking it into the gutter. What's best about the Dolls' debut, though, is its shamelessness. This is manufactured friskiness that doesn't take itself seriously; these girls don't want a Grammy, they only want to pounce. --Tammy La Gorce

"Inside every woman is a Pussycat Doll," says Robin Antin, the creator of the singing-and-dancing ensemble that has risen from underground cool to major-label hot. "It's about female empowerment, about being confident with who you are. It's about singing and dancing in front of a mirror by yourself and having fun."With their debut album released by A&M Records in summer 2005 (led by "Don't Cha," a duet with Busta Rhymes, written and produced by Cee-Lo), the Pussycat Dolls go beyond being extraordinarily beautiful. With tremendous voices, and after working with today's top songwriters and producers, the Pussycat Dolls are ready to stamp their mark on music and on attitudes. "To me, a Pussycat Doll is fearless but also vulnerable," says lead singer Nicole Scherzinger. "We're strong but we like to play too. The line in 'Don't Cha'--'don't cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me'--is meant to be empowering. The Pussycat Dolls are not about just being hot but also about saying something with real feeling."From Scherzinger, who earlier scored a Top 10 album and single while in girl group Eden's Crush, to Jessica Sutta, the one-time captain of the Miami Heat dance troupe; from Carmit Bachar, the La Vida Loca girl on Ricky Martin's world tour, to Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt, two of the most talented young dancers in Hollywood, and Melody Thornton, a stunning singer chosen from an open audition, these Pussycat Dolls are the new incarnation--more contemporary, more street--of the group whose Sunset Strip performances became the hippest ticket in Hollywood.

THE PUSSYCAT DOLLS ARE REAL BEAUTIES.......2007-06-27
About that 2nd song...........2007-06-22
PUSSYCAT ROX!!!.......2007-06-13
Do you like music? Maybe hip-hop? Then you should get the "Pussycat Doll's (PCD)" CD with the lead singer Nicole and the back-up singers Kimberly, Carmit, Ashley, Melody, and Jessica. There are 12 songs and hot and sexy artists sing all of them.
I think that the CD is totally cool and amazing. It's all thanks to Robin Antin. She was the one who made the songs on the CD and she was the one who created the Pussycat Doll's. Robin also made the CD a cool, hot, sexy, and amazing CD. She makes a good feeling on the last song, "Feelin' Good"! The price is $[...].
I recommend this CD to people 10 and up! This CD will make the Pussycat Doll's be more famous and live out there dream in L.A.! On this CD I can tell the best songs from the worst songs. The best songs are: "Don't Cha", "Beep", "Wait a Minute", "Buttons", "I don't need a Man", "Hot stuff", "Bite the Dust", and "Feelin' Good"! To the fans the CD is totally amazing and to the first time listeners it's totally amazing, too!
In conclusion this CD has awesome songs, great singers, cheep price, and is a blast to listen to!!
solid debut album.......2007-05-25
1. Don't Cha f/ Busta Ryhmes- "Don't cha wish ya gulfriend was hot like me". this song was a hit when it came out and it is still popular today. i just wish that Busta Rymes wasn't in it. he completely ruins the song and what it's about. the song is about a hot girl (Nicole) who loves a guy who has an unpretty girlfriend and makes him wish he had her, but Busta Rhymes raps about stupid stuff that has nothing to do with it. 4/5
2. Beep f/ Will I Am- I LOVE this song! This is one of my favorites. I like Will I Am because he is part of my favorite band, The Black Eyed Peas. This song is funny and cute. I love how they almost cuss, but it is blocked out by a "[BEEP]"! 5/5
3. Wait A Minute f/ Timbaland- What can I say? Timbaland is just plain awesome. He has transformed artists such as Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake; i didn't like either one of them at first, but because of Timbaland, they have both won my respect. but he didn't transform the pussycat dolls. 5/5
4. Stickwitu- This song is okay. i never really liked it that much. 3/5
5. Buttons- This song shows off their dirty side (as seen in the video). but don't let that change your opinion about them. the only time i misjudged this song was the first time i heard it. in the first line when she says "Fall for", it kind of sounds like the "F" word, but it really isn't. 5/5
6. I Don't Need A Man- 5/5
7. Hot Stuff (I Want You Back)- This song is hot hot hot. i absolutely love it! 5/5
8. How Many Times, How Many Lies- 4/5
9. Bite The Dust- 4/5
10. Right Now- This song sounds jazzy and broadway-ish. it kind of makes me think of the movie "West Side Story".
11. Tainted Love/ Where Did Our Love Go- this track copies two songs. "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell and "Where Did Our Love Go" by The Supremes. 3/5
12. Feeling Good- The most boring one on the album. of couse i'm not sure, but i think it was copied as well. 2/5
I hope their next album is just as good a this one...no wait...BETTER! but i'm not sure if they are coming out with a new album or if Nicole is going solo.
Wonderful album!.......2007-05-21

For The *Wild* At Heart!.......2007-04-08
Since I have already reviewed both the US and the Japan CD I will only describe the bonus disc:
The bonus disc begins quite eloquently with track one:
(1) "Sway" has the marimba Spanish styles bringing back the days of hand-to-hand dancing. The style has a nice classy melody mentioning the sound of violins, along fabulous vocals by many of the dolls. Not quite the typical American styles but more along the lines of a mix of cultures. This song is available with lyrics on the Japan Import.
Next you have a more upbeat track:
(2) "Flirt" has the highly energetic beats, super fast vocals, and quite challenging lyrics. The theme of the song is definitely worth listening to. Because while men think women are sometimes trashy for what they are dressed like the truth is not quite that. The song mentions, "You always think the worst, I just want to flirt". This is also available in the Japan Import with lyrics.
Ironically the next track simmers down to a ballad,
(3) "Stickwitu" [Avant Mix] is similar to the original however there are slight variations with Avant's touch. Unless you buy the single you won't be able to hear it along the others. This is a very soft ballad, filled with emotion, love, and much desire to stick with that special someone that has that sparkle, touch, and chemistry another can't. This was a truly astonishing production worth taking note and worth listening to. What I can't understand is why it was put in the third spot since the pace is rather slow not quite for the next.
The pace totally picks up with Snoop Dogg:
(4) "Buttons" featuring Snoop Dogg is one of my favorites since I enjoy listening to Snoop Dogg. Again, you have the catchy beats, sexy dance styles, and fast pace. The background Middle Eastern hints, combined with Nicole's vocals have a very addictive, sticky, infectious sensation. It makes the lyrics stand out by making the listener feel at ease, loose, and relaxed. While the meaning may seem controversial it really depends on what you spin on it. Snoop Dogg definitely enhances the song considerable by giving it more R&B, Hip-hop styles along tight rhymes. This is available in the Buttons single along the non-album track "Flirt".
This next song is over the top explicit and is the reason for my lower rating:
(5) Don't Cha (More Booty) Featuring Busta Rhymes takes a wild raunchy style singing many explicit lyrics that may be quite shocking to some or plain annoying to others. The imagination is not challenged, the mystery is revealed, and the message takes a different tone. The bad words in the song could have been toned down. The song replaces "In the back of your mind you know you should be on with me" to "In the back of my mind you know you should be f*****g with me.
Now you have a totally fabulous cover song that is great:
(6) Hot Stuff (I Want You Back) Remix has a very dance oriented direction, excellent deep vocals, and electronic hints. This is the cover song from Donna Summer. I would have put this track earlier perhaps on 3. The beats have variety, DJ spins, and much elevating dance swirls. Although similar to the original there is some hints of a Remix that are quite enjoyable. The Japan Import does not have this. Instead it has the Live Version. The 2 Beep singles have this remix + the live version on one of them.
Next you get ring tones, voicemail id, and text alert: [There is a slight pause before you hear them]
(7) He Always Answers [Ring back Tone] ~ This is for a guy's ring tone, not a girl. Bad move for us girls!!!!! This was rather disappointing.
(8) Vibrate Off The Table [Ring tone] ~ This could have been improved since it lacks any real excitement.
(9) Freaky Fun [Voicemail ID] ~ This was rather cute but not everyone is named Nicole.
(10) PCD [text alert] ~ A very fast alert that could have been done better.
Overall, you get the regular album songs, no lyrics, a bonus disc with 6 songs and other bonus material, and a bigger price tag. The artwork is the same. The picture you are looking at from Amazon is a cardboard type cover that goes on top. This could have been improved with a totally different cover, more bonus remixes, and a less over the top lyrical content on track 5. However, fans of the Pussycat Dolls and for the wild at heart, this may be a great selection to include in your collection.

Constructive Criticism.......2007-03-14
They would be better off in video naked fondling each other. Maybe some full tongue kisses. And cut the audio. It just distracts us from the real reason this band sells.
Oh wait, that's porn. They'll be doing this anyway once the mass mob get board of these Spice Girls II. Maybe in a few months or so.
They Are Hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2006-08-27
Really cool CD!!!.......2006-03-24
1. Don't Cha: 7/10 I like this song, and then yet I don't, because I don't like the fact that there's rap in it, but still a good song to sing to in front of the mirror
2. Beep: 10/10 I L-O-V-E this song! It's cool and I'm a Black Eyed Peas fan so I love the fact that Will.I.Am is in it. Tricky song also. When you hear it on the radio you think that they are 'beeping' out everything, but nope they aren't
3. Wait A Minute: 6/10 Ok song. That's all I really have to say.
4. Stickwitu: 7/10 This shows how nice these girls are, and it's fun to sing along to!
5. Buttons: 6/10 Strange song, Very strange.
6. I Don't Need A Man: 8/10 I like this song since most of my friends are dating boys and I don't really care about boys so I always find myself singing along!
7. Hot Stuff (I Want You Back) 8/10 I also like this song, because It's REALLY fun to dance to and sing.
8. How Many Times, How Many Lies: 3/10 I always find myself skipping this song, as it bores me.
9. Bite The Dust: 10/10 AWESOME SONG!!! It's fast and keeps a beat!!!
10. Right Now: 5/10 I like the begging of the song, as it's fun to snap to, not the best track though.
11. Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go: 7/10 I like this version of Tainted Love, although everyone likes the other version, but they give it a beat.
12. Feelin' Good: 2/10 I always skip this song. It's boring and has no beat, but I can still sing to it sometimes.

Best Pop/R&B Album of 2005!.......2005-09-24
Reviewer: Destiny (Sydney, Australia) - See all my reviews
The Pussycat Dolls have come out with a classic album. It focuses on R&B and Pop, and it's been a while since there has been a good Pop album released. Nicole is the lead singer, singing most of the lyrics but the other girls actually do a good chance doing it, when they get the chance.
1 Don't Cha (feat. Busta Rhymes)- Everyone has heard this track. It's a good feel fun song. It's about women with confidence "Don't cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me?" I dont think many girls could pull that off without sounding to slutty, but its more about feeling sexy! 8/10
2 Beep (feat. Will.I.Am)- 2nd single, great production in this track. Will.I.Am does a great job with it. Sounds a bit like "My Humps" by Black Eyed Peas. A great R&B song. It makes you use your imagination and fill in the words... 7/10
3 Wait A Minute (feat. Timbaland)- This track is very much R&B influenced, not one of the best tracks on the album, I think Timbaland is featured too much...usually he just has a rap or 2 during songs he is featured on but here he is on every hook. The girls do a good job saving the song though! 5/10
4 Stickwitu- A sugary ballad shows the girls softer side. A song about being loyal to your man. This is to be the 3rd single released from the album. Great choice! 8/10
5 Buttons- Middle Eastern sounding track, a sexual sound track "Loosen up my buttons baby" the track does sound good sounds a bit like Shakira meets Tweet 7/10
6 I Don't Need A Man- One of the first Pop classic tunes on the album. A good sing-a-long track. It's a great up-beat track, it's about being happy to be single, you don't need a man in your life to have fun! 8/10
7 Hot Stuff (I Want You Back)- Sounds like an 80's/90's track, probably more Pop based. The chorus is from Donna Summer's 1979 classic "Hot Stuff". 6/10
8 How Many Times, How Many Lies- This is an alright track, just about a cheating man, we've heard it all before blah blah. But I wouldnt say its a filler 5/10
9 Bite The Dust- This the best track on the album! Basically it tells a girl too back off from a girls' man. The beat is great, I'd luv to see the Dolls dance to it hopefully this will be the 4th single from the album! 10/10
10 Right Now- Cant say I am an old Jazz fan, this song maybe could have been left off....3/10
11 Tainted Love / Where Did Our Love Go- I love the Dolls' version of Tainted Love! It's cool. The majority of the track is "Tainted Love" and the ending is "Where Did Our Love Go". The only critisism is that maybe the whole track could have been "Tainted Love". 7/10
12 Feelin' Good- Ending the album with other Jazz song. Not one of my favs but not that bad. 4/10
13 Sway (International Bounus Track)- The Dolls cover of this track is alright. Featured on the "Shall We Dance Soundtrack" 5/10
14 We Went As Far As We Felt Like Going (International Bounus Track)- This is a fun track which was featured on the Shark's Tale soundtrack. It's a fun pop dance track 8/10

GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD (PCD) (CD) Miklos Rozsa
Miklos Rozsa ProductGroup: Music Binding: Audio CD ASIN: B000QU337G |
Product Description
GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD (PCD) (CD) Miklos Rozsa The Rome Symphony Orchestra. The second of special-effects wizard Ray Harryhausen's three Sinbad epics is arguably the best on a sheer technical level. This time, Sinbad is played by John Philip Law, while the principal villain, Koura, is portrayed by future Dr. Who Tom Baker. The plot contrives to send Sinbad and his crew on a quest for a valuable and magical golden tablet. Harryhausen's "Dynamation" highlights include a six-armed (and well armed) statue, a one-eyed centaur and a flying griffin. For those not interested in this sort of thing, the film also offers the stunning Caroline Munro in various states of undress (35-millimeter frame blow-ups of the curvaceous Munro were once a hot property on the "collectibles" market). "Golden Voyage of Sinbad" was followed by the lesser Harryhausen endeavor "The Magic Voyage of Sinbad" (1979). 1973 1. Prelude (1:31) 2. Arrival Of Homunculus (2:41) 3. The Dream (1:15) 4. The Storm (1:56) 5. Marabia Beach (1:19) 6. Koura's Pursuit (1:48) 7. The Destiny (2:47) 8. Night Time (3:06) 9. The Siren (3:23) 10. The Chart (4:43) 11. Making Of The Homunuculus (2:45) 12. Temple Of The Oracle (3:15) 13. Escape From The Temple (2:42) 14. Sinbad Discovers Koura/Sinbad Fights Kali (5:10) 15. Fountain Of Destiny (2:25) 16. The Centaur/Death Of The Centaur (5:26) 17. Koura's End (3:39) 18. Sinbad's Decision (3:47)

The Debut Album from the 21st Century Answer to the Spice Girls with Four Bonus Tracks: "Sway", "Flirt", "we Went as Far as We Felt Like Going" and "Don't Cha (Live)".Customer Reviews:
Entertaining, Fun, & Positive!.......2007-01-26
The four bonus tracks definitely enhance the listening experience. They are the following: SWAY (3:11) having the Spanish influenced marimba rhythms portraying being on the dance floor hand in hand with mentions of violins, and words such as "Mi amor", FLIRT (2:57) having the much rapid beats reaching unbelievable speeds with repetitions of "I just want to flirt" and themes of how men and women think differently, WE WENT AS FAR AS WE FELT LIKE GOING (3:50) encompassing more R&B/funk with portions of Patti LaBelle's "Take Your Time (Do It Right)", and DON'T CHA LIVE VERSION making the sound less musical and more as a live audience feeling.
The Pussycat Dolls sing many cover songs as well as make their own. Among the top favorites to reminisce, aside the one already mentioned above, are hits like: HOT STUFF (I Want You Back) sounding a bit like Donna Summer, the all time Queen of Disco, TAINTED LOVE/WHERE DID OUR LOVE GO, and BITE THE DUST. While most of the songs have a dance sensation don't be fooled, there are many slower ones as well, such as HOW MANY TIMES HOW MANY LIES, and STICKWITU. In addition, if you like featured artists, then aside the previous ones mentioned, there is one by Timbaland titled WAIT A MINUTE having much hip-hop, funk and some R&B.
Overall, when you play this album the extras included in this edition will be sure to compliment and enhance your shopping experience. Be ready to feel special, positive, confident, and filled with attitude. The lyrical booklet helps to understand the meaning behind the music better thus, enhancing the moods for the listener! The empowering lyrics, sexy overtones, and dance-oriented directions will be sure to entertain and satisfy!
