Jackie Allen and Hans Sturm are both superb instrumentalists. Hans Sturm plays the bass and Jackie Allen plays voice.

Their renditions of Green Dolphin Street and 'Round Midnight get to the heart of the music as few others I've heard.

From Sturm's percussive bass drumming on "I Want to Be Happy" to Jackie's jungle sound effects on "Landscapes - Rain Forest" the duo stretch the musical vocabulary of their respective instruments.

In addition to her vocalise, those familiar with Jackie's other work know that she can nail a lyric as few other singers living or dead.

I recommend this CD for those who enjoy music that takes chances. I like it more each time I hear it.
