The best Danny Wright CD ever. Cipolla is the finest composition I have ever heard! You cant' go wrong with this one.

Too many good tracks to miss.......1998-06-19

"Moods of Indigo" definitely has some wonderful tracks on it, such as "Wings of Hope," "Cipolla," and "In Memory." The addition of two classical pieces brings a particularly unique touch to the CD.

While "Moods of Indigo" is relaxing, the beautiful but simple piano style does get tiresome after a while. Despite some of the repetitiveness, this still has too many good tracks to miss.

Not the best recording quality, but solos make up for it.......2007-02-18

Urbie Green recorded about two dozen albums as a solo artist, most of which were studio recordings. This 1981 session is one of the exceptions in which we hear him in live performance. Solos are longer and more free-wheeling than in Urbie's studio sessions, but the trade-off is that the recording quality lacks the clarity and balance we've become accustomed to. Fortunately, the solo work is high quality and carries the album. In addition to the trombone artistry of one of that instrument's all-time greats, the tenor sax solos of Rick Bell are a welcome treat, especially on "These Foolish Things" and "Wave." (Anyone who has tried to improvise on "Wave" knows that the chord changes of this beautiful tune aren't as simple or intuitive as one would expect.)
Jazz standards and adaptations of pop tunes are typical fair on Urbie's albums, and this one is no exception. The one oddball selection here is "Ode to Billie Joe," rendered in an arrangement that doesn't elevate it from its inherent mediocrity. This is the only track that didn't make it onto my iPod. But that still leaves over 51 minutes of great music.

Always enjoyable Never Tiresome.......2004-02-24

I purchased Indigo Moods, The Mystery and Passion of Night, about a year ago and still listen to it about once a week. I have never grown tired of the beautiful flowing music that pours from this cd like liquid gold. I have introduced this music to several friends that also have fallen in love with the mellow yet always interesting music. I have and am enjoying the flow and ebb of this sensual music. I would like very much to have more of this type of music. Very nice, very nice indeed!

Music for a lonely summer evening.......2002-06-08

I at first thought that this CD would be a collection of ambient space music judging from the fact that Patrick O'Hearns '3 Circles' but that wasn't the case. This CD is actually very jazzy, and is much better than I thought it would be.

While it does have it share with some ambient electronic songs like Patrick O'Hearns '3 Circles' and Mars Lasars 'Sensuality' this collection is actually mostly acoustic and mostly jazzy.

My favorites are the haunting False Prophets by Quintana & Speer, the sensual Skyline Drive by Shahin and Sepher, the ever so lonely The Art Of Love by Mark Baldwin and the tear jerking After All We Had Planned by Jim Chappell. In fact this whole CD is stunningly beautiful. Indigo Moods is one of the most humbling CDs I've ever listened to. Sometimes it makes me cry sometimes because the songs are so deep and emotional.

Go and get this CD. You definately be making a wonderful purchase with this one.
