A fine sampler of New Age music.......1999-01-30
The selections in this volume were very well chosen, and represent some of the best of New Age or alternative music. Would look forward to a Volume II in this series.

Customer Reviews:
It's pretty good..........2005-01-25
As an abid listener of EBM and other various underground type music, I would have to say that this isn't Velvet Acid Christ's best recording. "Hex Angel (Utopia/Dystopia)" is a good CD, don't get me wrong, but I think that VAC could've done better. "Twisted Thought Generator" is a really good one. But, if you want to expand your music collection, then get this. It's always a good CD to play a good game of chess to.
VAC's - MOST STUNNINGLY PUT TOGETHER RELEASES TO-DATE.......2004-06-09
[VAC] - Bryan Ericson's PREVIOUS release "Hex Angel" was a bit of a disappointment for me, so when i had heard that he was releasing a set of chronological CD's I was very interested and picked up Between the Eyes Vol. 1 the day it came into my local record shop, I put it in my cd player, and i was utterly blown away, this album is top notch in mastering quality, every song hits you again and again with it's dancey feel, i almost want to compare it to "Fun with Drugs" in the terms of listening ability, you can seriously rock this album a zillion times and it doesn't get hold, these two previous reviewers must be ÜBER critical of Music, because these remixes, ect, are only avaliable on his single cds, which aren't worth buying now that this is out, and even if you have heard this via pirating music, it DOES NOT COMPARE TO CD QUALITY ! I'm a HUGE fan of Industrial Music, in all shapes forms and sizes, and i've been a long time fan of [VAC] since Church of Acid, and i would most definetally recommend this to a hardcore [VAC] fan, or even someone who's just getting into them for that matter, it's an awsome place to start. Between the Eyes Vol. 1 is in my opinion a very good compenstaion for "Hex Angel" which i don't believe carried itself too well. With unreleased tracks that you CANNOT find on singles such as *Murder the World* and *So Much* this album and it's 13 tracks are just begging to be picked up !
-Also Side Note : As stated Earlier Amazon's Pictorial Of The CD Is Infact Incorrect. [ That's The Hex Angel Album ] =P
For anyone that missed out on VAC's older singles.......2004-02-20
Between The Eyes V.1 is a collection of VAC's remixes and rare b-sides from past singles. Most of the tracks on here are either instrumental club mixes or experimental takes on older songs...you get the idea. As a result, this collection is really only meant as a convenient way for hardcore fans/DJs to get their hands on some harder to find material. Very few of the songs hold their own compared to the refined sound found on VAC's full albums, so it's not the place to start for new fans. For those of you looking for an example of VAC's best work, I recommend getting either Calling Ov The Dead or Fun With Knives instead.
Just to clear up any confusion, the art shown on amazon.com's website for this CD is incorrect. The art that is currently displayed is for the domestic version of the album Hex Angel.
Dissapointing.......2004-02-19
i was really looking forward to this cd seeing how i thought VAC was gonna go bankrupt after hex angel. but now this just makes me feel even more uncertain about vac's future... this cd isnt really worth getting if you have their other releases.. why? let me show you why..
songs the die hard fans most likely already have..
decypher remix 1
decypher remix 2
dial 8 remix 1
dial 8 remix 2
the hopeless
the dead
with that already being half of the cd.. well the other half is almost as useless unless you dig remixes... the futile remix is the best track on here while the rest dont seem to impress me that much. maybe i am just too picky.. but i was expecting more from bryan. he claims on his site that he will be releasing 3 more of these cds this year.. however i wouldnt count on those other ones unless this one sells good. basically it comes down to this.. i dont reccommend this cd unless your a die hard vac fan like me.. otherwise there really isnt anything worthwhile here in my opinion

Customer Reviews:
Good selection that reflects wide acid/jazz/hip hop fusion........1998-08-30
This is a superior compilation that provides an excellent crosssection of the different ways that the whole acid jazz, hip hop soul sound is evolving. Good eclectic mix! Unfortunately some of the very best tracks on the album cannot be listened too on the amazon website ("funky me"; "texas twister"; "deep vibes"). Definitive piece for any collection. Seriously Kicking Vibes!!!
Slick, smooth and groovy hip hop/jazz.......1998-07-15
Now this is a real slick selection of hip hop/jazz fusion. The tracks are tastfully organized and they all really correspond to the tilte of the album. There are no weird tracks here, just a brilliant selection of hip-hop/jazz music. For all of you who like US3, Alphabet Soup, Jazzmatazz, Jazzhole and similar music, I guess this CD is for you.
