5 out of 5 stars TOTALLY AWESOME!.......2003-05-14

What does it sound like? The folks in Pink Floyd have imbibed a strong hallucinogenic brew and travelled through outer space to the hidden colony of the Ottoman Empire near the black hole known as Cygnus X-1. The antipodes of the psychonautic orientalist.

5 out of 5 stars Rich at his Richest.......2000-08-31

Robert Rich has now produced quite a long string of techno-ambient albums of very high quality. This one is my personal favorite (though "Rainforest" and "The Seven Veils" are just about as good); it captures well what classical composer Carl Nielsen described in his fifth symphony as the "inextinguishable" will to survive and evolve. Rich is a master at producing slow, ambling-paced yet rhythmic music that builds gracefully in intensity, but never beyond its ambient roots to an outright climax. The attention to detail and clarity is marvelous! Despite the technological and ambient base, moreover, his music manages to transmit warmth and humanity.

4 out of 5 stars Robert Rich stirs something in the depths of your being........1999-06-22

Robert Rich manages to bring you back to the womb of humanity. At times his music is almost a religious experience, revealing the true nature of man and his place in our universe. Altogether a wondeful experience.

5 out of 5 stars Embryonic Fluid.......1999-03-25

You're suspended as an embryo when listening to this CD The first track is stupendous; kudos to Mr. Rich! The rest of the CD is a journey deep inside the mind. Get ready when you put your headphones on. You're going to drift down a thick stream...full of dreams.

4 out of 5 stars deserves a play by any Christian industrial fan..........2006-09-23

This was the band Brent Stackhouse formed after leaving Deitiphobia. While Deitiphobia retained its dancier industrial stylings, X-Propagation was more about the harsher side of industrial. While guitar is present and roars over many of the songs, the whole feel of the album seems to me more electronic. But don't let that turn you off because this is not a poppy, Pretty Hate Machine type of album.

The rapid, loud beats are often quite thrashy complete with a rumbling bass line, distorted vocals. The guitars even have that really buzzy electronic feel as if they were synthesized. Songs like "Heads Up" or "Cybervision" should have your fingers tapping repeatedly, not to mention finding yourself chanting along with the lyrics. These tracks immediately bring Ministry "Land Of Rape And Honey" era to mind when I hear them. "Unity" has a Skinny Puppy type feel to it with its loud plodding beat and bass line. "Lover" and "Peace" are awesome dancier tracks that will have you tapping your foot, yet plow you over with their sheer force of hard industrial force. As I said, this is not easy listening industrial, but fans of Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly looking for something more wholesome will probably get a kick out of this album. I know I did. The only thing that could have been better is use of better samples...if they'd implemented samples like that of "Circle Of Dust: Brainchild" it might have been even sweeter of an album.

I'll admit I think "Global Wave System" is much better when it comes to electronic industrial in the Christian genre. X-Propagation is one of those albums I get a kick out of playing every now and then, but they don't hold a place with me like Global Wave System. Check out that band's album "Life Equals Death" and their "HypercritEP" if you liked X-Propagation. The X-Propagation members even produced/and or engineered their first album so that should tell you something.

As far as how much I play this and like it, 3 stars would have been suitable. I give it 4 stars because of the jaw dropping production/industrial style of this album. Brent Stackhouse and co. truly made something that puts alot of what's passing as industrial in today's secular market to shame. So for the excellent effort in song writing, programming, production...they get an extra star.
