deserves a play by any Christian industrial fan..........2006-09-23
The rapid, loud beats are often quite thrashy complete with a rumbling bass line, distorted vocals. The guitars even have that really buzzy electronic feel as if they were synthesized. Songs like "Heads Up" or "Cybervision" should have your fingers tapping repeatedly, not to mention finding yourself chanting along with the lyrics. These tracks immediately bring Ministry "Land Of Rape And Honey" era to mind when I hear them. "Unity" has a Skinny Puppy type feel to it with its loud plodding beat and bass line. "Lover" and "Peace" are awesome dancier tracks that will have you tapping your foot, yet plow you over with their sheer force of hard industrial force. As I said, this is not easy listening industrial, but fans of Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly looking for something more wholesome will probably get a kick out of this album. I know I did. The only thing that could have been better is use of better samples...if they'd implemented samples like that of "Circle Of Dust: Brainchild" it might have been even sweeter of an album.
I'll admit I think "Global Wave System" is much better when it comes to electronic industrial in the Christian genre. X-Propagation is one of those albums I get a kick out of playing every now and then, but they don't hold a place with me like Global Wave System. Check out that band's album "Life Equals Death" and their "HypercritEP" if you liked X-Propagation. The X-Propagation members even produced/and or engineered their first album so that should tell you something.
As far as how much I play this and like it, 3 stars would have been suitable. I give it 4 stars because of the jaw dropping production/industrial style of this album. Brent Stackhouse and co. truly made something that puts alot of what's passing as industrial in today's secular market to shame. So for the excellent effort in song writing, programming, production...they get an extra star.
