I think this is one of the best recordings I've ever heard! I think todays music does not match the creativity and sound of old analog synths! Even thought the album is melow, it keeps you intrested all the way threw. Computers has help electronic music be produced faster and easier, but sound and creativity is somewhat lost I think. This album will show you what to me is lost in the world of sampling!

A True Ambient Masterpiece.......2005-12-10

I was fortunate enough to find this CD at a little CD shop in Austin, Texas. Unfortunately this was in 1993. This is Stearns' best in my opinion. I use this CD for meditation and relaxation. This is a defenite favorite among my vast music collection.

Absolutely Great - Almost As Good As "The Ventures".......2005-06-29

This is a great album....nearly equalling the beautiful sonic melodies of the the 60's group: "The Ventures".

This album comes close but is no match for such cuts as "Telesar" from the Ventures but pretty good nonetheless.

The Best Ambiant Album I have ever heard.......2004-10-25

On occasion, you find a recording that truly is ground-breaking. Stearns' Planetary Unfolding is such a recording. Why this album is no longer available is a mystery to me. Michael's ability to alter the consciousness of the listener is un-matched by anyone I have ever heard. Perhaps some of the Aphex Twin's ambient recordings or Robert Rich at his best would be a close second. If you can find this recording, buy it ASAP. A classic, especially considering it was recorded in the mid 1980's. Other Stearns' recordings are good, but nothing compares to Planetary Unfolding in my view.

This album is/was incredible. The sense of expansive space permeates every song. It is am amazing piece of work.
