This is a pretty relaxing waterfall.It's not as loud as the Niagara Falls cd that is out by Gentle Persuasion but it is relaxing.All you hear on this cd is falling water with a roar.If you cut the base on the roar is louder.There is no music on this release just the relaxing sound of a roaring waterfall.Like the other reviewer said this also sounds like a heavy rain downpour without thunder.I highly recommend this cd for relaxation.I also recommend Majestic Niagara from Gentle persuasion for an even more louder sound.The roar on Niagara gets really loud but I don't know if Majestic Niagara is still in print.Majestic waterfall is just a gentlier waterfall but still has the roar and is still very relaxing.

Of all the Magic Moods CDs, this one is the best for use as a pure white noise source. All you hear is the "roar" of the water as it comes crashing down. But since it doesn't fluxuate in volume or in frequency, it makes a great CD to sleep to. If you work nights (and I did for years), I highly recommend this CD to help block out the daytime noises!

You can think of this as a waterfall, or as a real gullywasher of rain, like one of our winter tropical downpours. No thunder, no animals or birds, just water. If this mass of white sound can't drown your neighborhood noise, nothing audio on the speakers can. Repeats seamlessly.
