Amazon.com essential recording

Enya's 1988 recording Watermark achieved landmark success with her groundbreaking use of multi-tracking technology to fuse new age and Celtic themes and instrumentation. The meticulous production defines her sound and achieves continuity even while weaving together tender ballads, piano pieces, massively layered vocal harmonies, and symphonic synthesizer movements. Although Enya's pristine voice isn't especially strong, her lead vocals possess a vulnerability that reflects the lyrics' sense of personal searching. From the ubiquitous, frothy single "Orinoco Flow" (which was used to hawk Crystal Light on TV) to the hard, bold edge of "Cursum Perficio," Enya's style remains fresh and engaging today. --Richard Price

5 out of 5 stars ...TIMELESS LOVELY MUSIC...........2007-07-16

She has never done better! This was the first I knew of Enya! I heard it playing when it first came out in my local music shop at the time, and asked the clerk what that was that was playing, and immediately bought a copy of this lovely album.

With all the wonderful stuff Enya has done since this, (and I have it all), I do not believe she has ever done better than this simply georgeous, lush, listening experience.....truly music to "take you away!"

MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! ~operabruin

5 out of 5 stars Enya Watermark.......2007-06-03

I have always enjoyed Enya's works and own most of her CD's. I seem to have missed Watermarks until recently. Now I am thrilled, this is the best of all. It's from 1989 but if you enjoy Enya buy this CD you won't be disappointed.

4 out of 5 stars Repetitive rhythms that take you away.......2007-02-01

New Age music is hard to define for those who have not heard it. But if you had to name landmark albums in the growth of New Age music, this would probably be one of them. Released in the late 80's, this is probably one of the most popular New Age albums, especially by a female artist. The musical pieces are a collection of both instrumental pieces and songs, all of which remind one of nature scenes. Many of the pieces sound similar, and listening to this CD will give you a good feel of Enya's vocal range and talent. But all the pieces are good, and some are downright great; especially the famous Orinoco Flow. Overall, a good buy for relaxing music.

2 out of 5 stars BORING.......2007-01-16

A great disappointment. I was expecting a better product from this artiste. There is so much much non-directional filler instrumentation that I feel like I bought a CD that was an Enya / New Age elevator music collaboration. You would be better off picking up something by her sister Maire (comparable voice, more creative presentations).

5 out of 5 stars Watermark by Enya.......2007-01-14

I guess I have most of her CD's. Nice for gifts too.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best worship albums I've ever heard.......2006-09-21

I have to admit that I bought this CD for one song. However, I heard the whole CD one night, and I instantly began to worship God in a completely heartfelt manner. Christy Nockels' voice reflects the sincerity and heartfelt love she has for God. All of the lyrics in this CD really strike a chord with everyone who has heard them. So far, three of my friends heard my CD and have consequently gone out to buy it. It really is a must-buy for Watermark fans and anyone who enjoys pure worship.

5 out of 5 stars Waterview's "A Grateful People" Review.......2006-07-24

Watermark's latest and last CD, A Grateful People, is a celebration of ten years of ministry, marriage, and family for group members Christy and Nathan Nockels. Christy is the lead singer while husband Nathan provides background vocals and is the instrumentalist for the group. Watermark began their music ministry in 1977 as worship leaders in Texas church. The name "Watermark" is derived from the definition of the word, "an impression only visible when held up to the light." "The Light (Christ) of this world is moving and pursuing people...so that He becomes visible through us to the world" (Nockels 1). Popular with fans, this group's music is frequently played on Christian radio stations. I saw Watermark in concert on June3, 2006 at Moody Bible Institute's "Front Row Live" to promote their new album. This is the group's last tour as they are end their music ministry to allow Christy to stay home with their children, Noah Luke (5) and Elliana Noelle (3). Though Watermark is a favored group among Christian artists and the fan will miss them, the audience responded with spontaneous applause and a standing ovation that overwhelmed the Nockels. The audience remained standing as they began to perform songs from "A Grateful People," their latest CD. Everyone in the audience knew most of the songs and we sang along of them. Christy's deep rich vocals and humble demeanor set the tone for the evening and put everyone in a spirit of worship.
When I first heard the music from "A Grateful People," I found it to be quite moving and uplifting. Listening to this music continually reminds me of the greatness and goodness of God--after all, this is the purpose of worship music. The CD is a collection of five No. 1 songs from previous albums: "The Glory of Your Name," "Knees to the Earth." "Captivate Us," "Friend for Life," and "The Purest Place" (title song from their last album). The current title song "A Grateful People," "Light of the World," "Take Me There," and "Who Am I" are four brand new tracks on the CD. There are a few songs that have been recorded with other popular Christian groups. To complete the tracks, "Elliana's Song" was written for the couples' three-year-old daughter, Elliana. Although their voices are very distinct, Christy's sound is very similar to Janna Long of Avalon, another Contemporary Christian group (Janna and Christy are performing on a new collaboration together, "Sing Over Me," due out August 1st).
While every song on the CD is a favorite, the tracks at the top of the list are: The Glory of Your Name, "In Your Garden (There is None Like You)," and "Captivate Us." The second track, "The Glory of Your Name," speaks to the birth, death, and resurrection of Christ. Though Christmas and Easter occur at a specific time, fans find it appropriate to celebrate Christ's sacrifice any time of year. The second verse in "In Your Garden (There is None Like You)" is worth mentioning here:
You speak and the sound of your voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing
And the melody that you give me
Within my heart is ringing
"Captivate Us," speaks of drawing closer to God in order to experience His healing and peace.
Based on the reaction to the songs from "A Grateful People" CD, as witnessed at the concert, the fans will be pleased with this latest and final CD album from Watermark. Though Christy and Nathan will no longer record and tour as Watermark, they will be performing on some weekends at women's conferences and other such venues. Notwithstanding, the public will still hear the rich and velvety voice of Christy Nockels of Watermark. Christy leaves us with these words, "Much love and blessings to all who have encouraged, strengthened, and who have marked our lives on this beautiful journey. We are truly grateful people" ("About").

5 out of 5 stars aww! i didn't know it was their last...........2006-07-21

4 out of 5 stars A Farewell to be Grateful for.......2006-04-19

In 1998, Watermark was one of the first artists on new label Rocketown Records. Now, feeling that God is calling them to other things, they are releasing a final CD as a thank you to their fans.

Recorded live in August of 2005, this CD is a collection of the best loved songs from their career. They open with "Take Me There," a hit from their first CD and an upbeat praise song that speaks of the longing for a closer relationship with God. All four of their CD's are represented by the time this one is over with songs like "Glory Baby," "More Then You'll Ever Know," "The Purest Place," and wonderful medley of "Gloria" and "Friend for Life."

Along the way, they have made some good friends in the music business, and several of them show up to help with the songs. My personal favorite appearance is Point of Grace who sings on "Who am I?" a song both groups have recorded individually. Of course, one reason this is my favorite is because I love the song. It's always a good thing to marvel at God's grace for us. Other appearances include worship leader Chris Tomlin on the title song, a song from Watermark's independent days. Also making appearances are Shane and Shane on "Arise and be Comforted," Ed Cash on "The Purest Place," and Charlie Hall on "Captivate Us."

What is surprising about these appearances is the lack of fanfare the artists receive. While the CD was recorded live, there is no talking between tracks. These artists just start singing in their songs and you have to refer to the CD to know they are there. While it surprised me, it makes the CD better for repeated listening since there's no talking to try to skip.

Long time fans will not be disappointed with this disc. The duo doesn't try anything fancy here, just a nice collection of their songs. As such, you get a CD that is worshipful and God focused, just like their other CD's have been. It still easily fits in the inspirational market with their piano and guitar based sound. In fact, my only real complaint with them has always been too many slow tempo songs.

Unlike most best of compilations, this one does offer several previously unreleased songs from the days before they signed with Rocketown. "A Grateful People," and "Arise and be Comforted" both fit into this category. In addition, they offer new songs like a wonderful combination of the classic hymn "In the Garden" with praise chorus "There is None Like You" in place of the regular chorus. It really works well and breaths new life into these songs. They close the CD with two studio recorded songs. "Light of the World" is a praise song about all Jesus can do while "Elliana's Song" is a hidden track about the joy their daughter has brought into their life.

For eight years, Watermark has been focusing our attention on God with their wonderful music. This CD is a great way for all their fans to remember their wonderful music.

5 out of 5 stars Please Remaster.......2005-10-27

SONY - Please Remaster and re-release this brilliant record. By far the best of Art's mostly mediocre solo output. The production and the songwriting - ah, yes - the sublime songwriting by Jimmy Webb - at the top of his game - is fantastic. Art perfectly capture's Jimmy's angst- ridden lyrics and his voice is never better. This a stone classic that has never aged. I'd love to hear it using the best of today's mastering technolgy. Sony - I can guarentee you one sale right here.

5 out of 5 stars When will we get to hear Fingerpaint?.......2004-03-25

The original album was to have been released with the Jimmy Webb song Fingerpaint, but when its first single, Crying in My Sleep, didn't chart, Garfunkel hurriedly recorded What a Wonderful World, with the star power of James Taylor and Paul Simon, to kick off the new album. And Fingerpaint fell by the wayside, only to exist in the Dutch release, and maybe only for the first couple of months of the album's life there. Well, shoot, the Jimmy Webb songs here are awesome, and I'm sure his Fingerpaint is also, but when will we ever get to hear it? These days, CD rereleases always have extras tacked on, like obscure b-sides, and so forth. Columbia missed a great opportunity here. Same with the rerelease of Scissors Cut - why doesn't this include The Romance, as the European versions did, or Is This Love, which was the b-side of A Heart in New York?

4 out of 5 stars jones.......2003-09-08

My favorite simon and garfunkel songs seem to be the ones that Art sang, alone ('april come she will', 'bridge over troubled water', and especially 'for emily, whenever i may find her', which my wife and i chose as our wedding song); therefore i am biased towards "Watermark", in that it contains a lot of songs that follow the production value of S+G that accentuate art's angelic voice. As with most fof his solo records, the singing is uplifting and gorgeous. I'm not a good singer (ask my wife!), but I love singing along with this CD.. It falls short of the 5th star due to lack of Paul Simon songs.

5 out of 5 stars Art Garfunkel's Best Solo Album By Far.......2003-07-22

Watermark is a great album. It is, by far, the best release of Art Garfunkel's solo career. It's one of those overlooked musical gems that never got the attention or recognition it deserved.

Unfortunately, a lot of Art Garfunkel's subsequent work was, well, mediocre. But in 2002, Art released an excellent collaboration with Maia Sharp and Buddy Mondlock entitled "Everything Needs To Be Noticed" which, quite deservedly, seems to have brought him a lot of very favourable attention.

Check out "Everything Needs To Be Noticed." It's excellent. And if you like it, check out "Watermark". It's excellent as well. If you like one, you'll like the other.

5 out of 5 stars This CD will take you to the Purest as well as other special places.......2006-11-06

I purchased this CD because I had previously purchased Watermark's farewell CD, "A Grateful People." While this CD contains some of the same songs they are done in the studio rather than live, so they have a richer flavor. These tracks would include: "The Glory of Your Name", "The Purest Place", "Captivate Us" and "Knees to the Earth." In addition "You are", "Invade" and "Hidden in You" are also outstanding tracks. But, truly there is not a bad song among the 13 on the CD and Christy Nockels has a fantastic voice and projects a strong Christian message. I highly recommend this CD as well as "A Grateful People."

3 out of 5 stars Not their best album..........2006-06-13

I really appreciate the music ministry of Watermark, especially after they led worship at our former church in Houston several years ago. That was a tremendous worship experience in so many ways, in large part because the Knockels' heart was so evidently pointed to God.

It is also worth noting that I consider "Knees to the Earth" on this album to be one of the most beautiful songs, lyrically and musically, that I have heard in the past several years. I can listen to it over and over again.

However, I would consider the remainder of this album to be somewhat disappointing. It is hard for me to pinpoint significant points to criticize. Having just listened to it again a few days ago, I can hardly remember it. And I suppose that this reality points to my primary critique. With the exception of "Knees to the Earth" and possibly "Holy Roar," it is filled with songs that I found to be rather forgettable.

Nonetheless, I remain appreciative of Nathan and Christy Nockels' heart for ministry and look forward to future releases. They have been richly blessed with wonderful talents that they use so well to glorify the Lord!!

5 out of 5 stars honest humble worship.......2005-09-30

This music is God-centered, grateful worship. It truly leads the listener to worship from the heart in spirit and truth. The musicianship is skilled, but not ostentatious, never detracting from the ultimate goal of recognizing and adoring our wonderful God.

4 out of 5 stars Fantastic.......2004-09-23

This group is amazing. I was turned to them by my girlfriend who wanted me to hush/hush download some of their music. Well I did, fell in love with her voice and have since bought all their albums. They are truly wonderful, musically, and lyrically. Buy this!

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely Pure.......2004-09-12

For everyone who is a fan of original worship music, vertical worship music, and beautiful music...you will want this cd.
By far Watermarks best album, yet. Each song speaks a truth about God and invites Him to be the center and purpose for our lives. When you are down, you will be instantly refocused on the meaning of life through this music. It is honest and it is amazing.

4 out of 5 stars Pleasant surprise.......2002-10-29

I bought this on a whim, and boy am I glad I did. She's GOT to be the best singer around! HANDS DOWN! Vocally, she's terrific and musically her hubbie is tops! They make a great pair and their music shows this, as well as their humbleness. This music is accessible and catchy. It includes a love song to one another (after years of marriage--go figure), and a terrific song about how their son turned THEIR life view around. I love their perspective, and even though I've never met them, there is nothing pretentious about them. I also appreicate her modesty in dress and her NON-anorexic look on the CD pics...something Christian artists need to revisit, in my humble opinion. I respect them and hope to see them in concert one day soon.

5 out of 5 stars Another Wonderful Cd.......2002-05-09

I hadn't heard anything about this when I bought it and just bought it because their first two albums were two of my favorites. The first two were so good I didn't expect this one to be quite as good though I knew it was worth buying. Now that I've listened to it numerous times, I think I still like the first two albums the best but this is definitely still a wonderful album and totally worth buying when compared with all the Christian music out there. Like their first two you are probably going to tend to like it more and more the more you listen to it. Watermark definitely has a new sound on this one and after listening to the first two so much it's takes a few times listening to it to get used to it but I'm sure you will also be glad you bought it.

5 out of 5 stars Watermark keeps on making a good album.......2002-05-04

I just heart this album for the first time, and it's the first I've heard of this group also. I can tell you this; I'm going to rush out right now and buy everything this group has ever recorded. I'm that impressed. I'm a big Out of the Grey fan, and Watermark reminds me a lot of OOG. Christy Nockles has one of the most incredible, passionate voices I have ever heard in Contemporary Christian Music. I haven't been this excited about a Contemporary Christian Artist in many years. Especially impressed with "Take Me There", "Welcome to Delaware" and "Calm the Waters", but there is not a throwaway song on the entire album. Breathtakingly beautiful. If you like Out of the Grey or similar music, buy this album as soon as humanly possible

5 out of 5 stars the first and the best.......2002-11-12

I was fortunate to hear Watermark live years ago. Just Christy and Nathan, a guitar and a piano. They sang the first five cuts from this, their debut release, and it was probably the most incredible acoustic performance I've ever experienced. Christy has a gorgeous, expressive voice -- sometimes warm and rich, and other times almost ethereal -- and Nathan is beyond impressive on both the guitar and the piano. Performing live, they are simply magical.

I've followed their career for years now, and this is still my favorite release. This music would be considered "praise and worship", and it is certainly that. They write their own music, reflecting their own personal yet universal experiences on the Christian walk.

This is an essential release for fans of acoustic contemporary Christian music. It's music that speaks of encouragement, hope and steadfast faith in the love of Christ.

5 out of 5 stars Spiritually Uplifting.......2000-01-13

I am so thankful I purchased this CD. I had only heard one song from it on the radio and decided I wanted to hear more from this couple. They did an excellent job of pouring spiritual insight into their songs. I couldn't wait to learn the songs so I could could sing along with them ... in my car . . . alone. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this selection.

5 out of 5 stars Praising God in Awesome Ways..........1999-06-14

I know a lot of people say this is a good CD for people over 40 and things like that, and I'm sure it is. But I'm only 15 and I love it. Y'all, Nathan and Christy Nockels are the coolest people... I've been listening to them and loving them since long before they were "discovered" by Rocketown. There is no voice on Earth that beats Christy's. Watermark's music just makes you want to sing out and praise God in such wonderful ways. (Hey, I gotta add in a little recognition to Christy's awesome brother, Homey The Clown). Oh, and if you've never heard "Welcome To Delaware", well... you should!

5 out of 5 stars Instead of canned music, the Weakerthans give us poetry.......2002-02-24

I had the pleasure of listening to John Samson perform "The Last Last One" at a party in Hofsos, Iceland. I will never forget it. What more needs to be said?

3 out of 5 stars Short but sweet.......2001-03-31

Even for an EP this is rather short, but if you're a fan of the Weakerthans (like everyone should be) then this is a must. Watermark is nice, but the true gems are the two live cuts. Weakerthans live is something to be seen; and if you can't see them, then at least you can hear them here. 3 instead of 4 because it's a little too short.

Husband-and-wife duo Nathan and Christy Nockels comprise Watermark, and are back with their sophomore effort, All Things New, a deeply rich tapestry of acoustic-oriented Christian music. While the group's composition, let alone musical style, will draw inevitable comparisons to Out of the Grey, there certainly are differences, primarily with the songwriting. Christy Nockels's lyrical imagery shines no brighter than in the title track and in the poignant, bittersweet "Glory Baby." The soaring feelings that celebrate a living faith of the former are balanced by the desperate need to be consoled in the latter, a ballad to a couple's miscarried child. But not all is so heavy on this release, as is evidenced by the wonderful "More Than You'll Ever Know," which carries a lively shufflebeat undercutting a pseudo-country vocal from Christy. Who said husbands and wives can't work together and have fun? --Michael Lyttle

5 out of 5 stars Full of Passion and Hope.......2006-04-22

Watermark's "All Things New" is one of those rare CD's where I like every single song, and I never get tired of hearing the album. The lyrics of the songs are biblically based, and convey several of God's promises for believers.

My personal favorite song on the album is "Incorruptible", which conveys the truth that if we are believers in Christ, our salvation cannot be lost ("We are not redeemed by corruptible things").

"Glory Baby" is another powerful song about losing an unborn child, and I am amazed by the attitude of hope that Watermark displays in their lyrics. ("Sweet little babies, it's hard to understand it 'cause we're hurting, we are hurting, but there'e healing, and we know we're better people for the growing and the knowing that all things work together for our good, and God works His purposes just like he said He would")

Christy and Nathan Nockels have hearts for God, and their passion is contagious as you listen to this uplifting and truthful album.

5 out of 5 stars this cd rocks!!.......2005-03-24

this is definitely watermark's best cd. it hardly ever happens, but this is a cd that i really like every single song on. but tracks 5 and 6 by themselves are worth buying the cd for. everyone owes it to themselves to try out this cd.

5 out of 5 stars I LOVE this CD.......2003-07-16

I am absolutely in love with this cd. Watermark is a husband/wife duo, with the wife doing most of the singing (her voice is so beautiful) and the husband on harmony and guitar. Their music is distinctly Christian, but not "preachy." It is sort of worship-y, but not in the Sunday morning sense. I guess I call it worship-y b/c it is not acoustically driven like a lot of other Christian artists. It is simple, graceful, melody driven music. I guess I would compare it to Sara Groves and Jill Phillips as far as genre/similar artists. It is very artistic and ethereal sounding, but with pronounced Christian lyrics and themes.
I first heard the song "Where to Find Me" on my digital cable's christian radio channel (tv these days :)) and loved it, so I sought out more of their stuff. This cd takes my breath away."Where to Find Me" gives me chills. "Glory Baby" is a beautiful song about a losing a baby to stillbirth or miscarriage. "Who Am I" is soft, melodious and relaxing, and "All Things New" is positive, uplifting and just plain awesome. I love Watermark, especially this CD, and I recommend them to everyone.

5 out of 5 stars I love this CD!!!.......2003-05-26

I am just getting into contemporary Christian music and have not heard much (and have like even less of what I've heard so far), but this CD is awesome!! I sing along with EVERY song. Christy has an amazing voice and the lyrics are truly inspiring. Rarely do I find a CD on which I like every song, but this is one of them. I highly recommend it!

5 out of 5 stars Gifted husband and wife team.......2002-10-05

I have just recently been introduced to this amazing husband and wife team. Their lyrics, music and arrangement of the songs on this album are amazing.

The song 'Glory Baby' is so inspired for everyone who has lost a child and had to come to terms with the fact that they are with Jesus and will be there until we go to be with them.

'You Are My Stronghold' is a wonderful reminder that God is our refuge and strength in times of trouble and He is truly our stronghold.

'Where To Find Me' is a great song in that it reminds us that no matter how far we wander from God, He always knows where we are.

'Who Am I' is so uplifting and reminds us that out of the billions of people in the world, God knows not only where we are but all about us... even how many hairs there are on our heads!

'It is good for me' is a truly amazing song... turning our eyes to the fact that God is our ultimate supplier of all good things and that He withholds nothing that we need.

I could comment on all the songs on this album but, suffice it to say, that there is not one that does not stir our hearts and lift our souls. Christy's voice is magical and as a couple they are just great!!

This album is a must for all lovers of true gospel, contemporary music.

5 out of 5 stars Watermark Hits the Mark.......2006-05-26

I'm fairly new to the music of Watermark, having only heard their debut and this one so far, but I am totally knocked out by the almost shimmering beauty of their music; it's almost hypnotically beautiful in places. I am saddened to hear that they just had their farewell concert, as I'm just discovering them. I'm very impressed with this album, in particular "Good for Me" and "Incorruptable". Christy Nockels has as beautiful a voice as you will find in Christian music, or any other music for that matter. I highly recommend this album and I hope that Watermark will reform soon and give the world more of their wonderfully inspired music.

5 out of 5 stars Comforting & encouraging, w/ scripture based lyrics.......2004-08-20

All Things New is an album that I would highly recommend to new and seasoned Christians alike. To the devout Catholic reviewer who was offended by the lyrics of "Incorruptable", I would ask to read 1Peter 1:17-23. What Nathan and Christy Nockels are singing is straight from scripture. A true Christian is never offended by the word of God.

Each song on All Things New is one that encourages connection and relationship with God. I have owned this album for a couple of years now, but found it especially comforting recently. The track called "Glory Baby" hit close to home with the loss of our first child to miscarriage. I strongly recommend not only that one song, but the whole album to those hurting from the loss of a child. How comforting each time Christy sings, "Heaven is your home, and its all you'll ever know"!

3 out of 5 stars Nice music but..........2004-04-17

I was turned off by the words to the song Incurruptible. I could be totally off base, but the song seems to be a pot shot towards the Catholic church. I found myself unable to enjoy the rest of the CD, even though the melodies were pleasant. Most Christians will probably enjoy this CD, however if you are a serious Catholic who believes in the teaching authority of the Church along with the Sacred Scriptures (Bible), you might pass this one up due to content.

5 out of 5 stars Play it over and over and over and over...........2003-11-28

There are few CD's I've heard, much less own, that I put into the CD player, sit back, and listen to from beginning to end; then end to beginning and end again... over and over. This is one of them.

I bought the CD simply to get my hands on "More Than You'll Ever Know", and was rewarded with a CD full of excellent songs. I love every one and listen to every one, every time the CD's in the player. I don't know much about Watermark, where they've been or where they come from, but their music is moving, whether light-hearted or deep, and I'll pretty much be buying everything they put out.

5 out of 5 stars Angelic Voices.......2003-10-06

I just got this album and it is incredible! "More Than You'll Ever Know" is a great song that makes me think of my best friends. "All Things New" is brilliant--both the sound and the words! Watermark's music is soothing, yet thought-provoking and worshipful. It's incredible! It's best listened to through headphones, so you can surround yourself with the awesome music and lyrics. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

5 out of 5 stars Unbelievably beautiful and uplifting........2002-10-05

This is the second CD that I have purchased by these annointed children of God. The lyrics of their songs are so spiritual and the blending of their voices are phenomenal as is the backing orchestration.

The song "Calm the Waters" is a wonderful reminder of how God changes our point of view, saves us and calms our souls.by giving us His direction.

'What Manner of Love' describes so poignantly God's love for His children and how He sets us free and gives us His joy and peace.

The amazing accoustic backing guitar in 'His Renown' is complimented by the duet of their voices as they remind us that we need to live our lives so that we mirror Christ and His love and compassion for a fallen world.

The song 'Walk the Road' turns our eyes to Jesus and His beautiful hands and feet... baring the scars of what He did for us on Calvary's cross. His wounds give us life and we should use this life to glorify God.

'Driven to Humility' reminds us that we are chosen to be humble and to walk 'humbly with our God', chosing only His will for our lives.

The song 'Peace' depicts so aptly God's peace in our hearts and souls that only comes from knowing Christ's love for us and His peace that passes all understanding.

My favourite song on this album is 'Gloria'. All creation praises God and we long to praise Him in the same manner but it is an awesome thought that we are treasured by God above all creation.

As I listen to 'Take me There' I am reminded that God hides us in His shelter and goes with us and is our shelter. He hides us in the palms of His hands, covered there by His love.

What can one say other then to just be overawed by this amazingly beautiful album. I look forward to purchasing more of their albums. They are a must for all lovers of Christian music.

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely beatuful........2001-08-05

Husband and wife Nathan and Christy Nockels (more commonly known as "Watermark") are two of the most anointed musicians I have ever heard perform. They display an incredible gift for both writing and singing all of their own music. Each song on this album drips with sincerity, honesty, and love for the Lord. Whether you are lisitening to the upbeat, uplifting tempo of "Take Me There", the imagery-filled love song, "Gloria" or the willing surrender in "Everything", you will be blessed each time you lsten to this album. Just as there is a variety of subject matter presented on this project, there is also a wide range of vocal style. Christy Nockels' unique voice belts through self-revealing ballads like "Driven to Humility" and "Welcome to Delaware" while it also flows gently through quiet, prayerful melodies such as the angelic tunes of "Calm the Waters" and "Peace." Most importantly, this collection of songs draws the listener into worship. As I said already, you will be blessed each time you listen to this album.

5 out of 5 stars Amazingly graceful :).......2000-06-15

I got hooked on Watermark because of "Gloria" which still brings me to tears. Having lived in there, I can both laugh at and understand "Welcome to Delaware" which as a matter of fact describes God's promise to me while I was at the University of Delaware. While not in the same upbeat manner as most praise & worship, this is still a wonderfully spiritual album.

3 out of 5 stars Watermark.......2000-04-10

I first heard this group at a Point of Grace concert, and was instantly captivated. I've had the album for over a year and I never get tired of listening to it. So many of the songs express my own feelings and you can't help but worship right along with them while you listen.

5 out of 5 stars Watermark.......2000-04-07

This is incredible music. 5 of these songs are playing on the comtemporary Christian radio stations. The rest are great too. A delightful mixture of bouncy & fun and slow & deep songs that feed my soul. Invigorating, inspiring & healing...what more could you ask?
