The 21st Century Minstrels.......2000-01-15
Having been a ardent admire of YMO, I must say this re-mastered collection is breath taking! The range of sounds and humor by these fine musicians have been brought together in a total fresh and invigorating environment, due largely by the re-mastering of Hosono himself! The little nuisances that were buried in the old analog recordings have surface brilliantly. The selections here represent the whole and true essence of the "Japanese" founding fathers of Techno-pop. The other titles I could recommend if you are new to this groups efforts are "Tecnodelic" - with its landscapes of East meets West, "Technodon" - with it's Cyberpunk realness, brought together by the lyrics of William Gibson, and "BGM" - The Techno Opera with it's fluid orchestrated machinery, all which have been re-mastered. Enjoy the Music of the 21st Century and Beyond!
