    Customer Reviews:

    5 out of 5 stars "I can't stop it - I can't stop anything..." - Awesome.......2007-07-25

I was disappointed to read other reviews that dislike this album. I think it's great.

I've never heard the "flubbed lines." I just hear Gary being his amazing, powerful self. It feels "Live" - he's getting tired!

Interestingly, there's a slight difference between the import and US versions (?) of this album - the import ends with "I can't stop it", "I Die You Die", and the other version ends with the reverse order. They both work great!

I especially like how the background singers are "into it", and how the audience screams "Gary!!!".

The key test - do you leave this album in your player, and listen to it twice without wincing, after you've had it 5 years? My answer: Hell yes, and I've had it 10 years! And I'll listen to it THREE times!

I must admit that I listen to this album loud, and I'm into it.

    5 out of 5 stars LIVE HIGHLIGHTS.......2006-01-08

Of a 1989 concert. Not the complete show.Excellent sound and versions of the songs.Only drawback is that if you already own the ¨In Concert ¨ DVD, (which is also made up of highlights) half of the songs are the same,so get it if you find it ultra cheap only. For Numan completists. If you want a complete show from about the same era (87),go for the double ¨GHOST: EXHIBITION TOUR¨,or better yet get the DVD of this one, which,by the way,is originally entitled as the cd ¨The Skin Mechanic¨,my all time Numan fav DVD,and the poppiest for that matter.

5 out of 5 stars Superb Sound Quality.......2004-01-28

Of all the Gary Numan live albums, this has the best sound quality. By this I mean audiophile quality. You can take this CD to hi-fi stores when you want to test speakers or amplifiers. For those of us with refined tastes, this is a great choice.

1 out of 5 stars The Search Is Over.......2001-07-03

If you're looking for the worst Gary Numan album, you've found it. It sort of feels like a contractual obligation album of some sort (maybe IRS demanded a follow-up to METAL RHYTHM immediately). The METAL RHYTHM album is actually quite good, but it just doesn't translate well on stage. Or, at least, it didn't this night. Gary sounds bored (flubbing his lines even more than usual), and only the backing vocals seem interested in doing "Cars". The version of "Call Out the Dogs" keeps it from being a total zero, but I'd make this the last Gary Numan album you pick up.

3 out of 5 stars This isn't music, this is survival.......2000-03-25

This is possibly the least of all Gary Numan's live offerings. The four live versions of tracks from the 'Metal Rhythm' studio album (released just before this) don't sound particularly strong, oddly enough. Numan fluffs his lines occasionally and seems strangely unmoved by the experience. However, all is not lost. There are good versions of the old standards and a brilliant version of 'Call out the Dogs'. However, a little more imagination and a wider cross-section from the selected songs would have been nice. For the complete live Gary Numan experience, grab hold of 'Dream Corrosion'.
