Where Rivers Meet.......2000-12-15
The title piece, #6, Where Rivers Meet, actually brought tears to my eyes. It is sooooooooooo sweet.
I was initially taken by the uniqueness (to me) of the melody and the harmonic overtones. Very mellow and appealing. The performers obviously enjoy playing together. And they blend very naturally. They don't compete; they compliment. I'm sure a true mucicologist would find many additional fine things to say about the technical merits of this CD.
Each track is different and stands independent of the others. I never have tried to appreciate the CD in terms of its journey theme. I simply enjoy each piece in its own right, except for the final selection, which is done well but isn't my cup of tea.
I only gave this CD 4 stars because I wanted to leave room for improvement, although there is very little of that!
The CD made me a big fan of William Eaton and I'm learning more about him and his instruments, and his wonderful music.
