The goal in creating this album was to ensure that the music was inspired, derived, and influenced directly by the ambient sound sculptures of the Amazon rain forest.

To achieve the desired connection and harmony between the natural and created sounds, all of the music on this album was performed live to the tracks of the nature sounds. Prior to recording, all musicians were brought together and listened to the nature sound tracks to which they would perform. Notes were made on "events" (featured animal sounds) and the musicians added their own impressions of the animal voices during the course of their performance. In most instances, the music voices were performed on acoustic instruments. A maximum of two synthesized tracks were used in certain instances to enhance the quality of the performance. Contemporary jazz fusion melodies by Rodney Franklin were composed to specifically blend with the mystical rain forest music of howler monkeys, cicadas, parrots frogs and other jungle dwellers in this exceptional example of the harmony between music and nature.

Pretty Good.......2006-07-29

This was a very unique item. Fans of the series will enjoy it. At times some of the tracks seem out of place when out of the game, but that's more than made up for by the many powerful and classic tracks that these CD's have. The first CD is more techno-inspired while the second is more operatic. It's good music to do push-ups to or to drive to. Especially the first track of the first CD.

This is awesome!.......2004-01-22

I accidentally came across this CD several years ago at one of those "listening stations" you sometimes find in nature stores. Wow! This CD has definitely become a staple in my household. The music is simply beautiful and serene. I use it often as background music when I'm cooking or when company comes over -- adds a lovely ambience to your environment, but the songs stay with you after you've heard them a few times. Very calming. Definitely one of my favorites. I was glad to find out there are many more CD's by this artist (including the talented Rodney Franklin on piano). Will definitely add more to my collection. Great as gifts. Enjoy.
