Do you like ethereal New Age? Gotcha covered. Does Boogie piano get your toes a-tappin'? Check. Is Swing more your thing? It's here. All fine reasons to add this sound track to your music collection. As for the movie, I like to think it Carrey's best work. The man has the most expressive face in Moviedom. Regarding the story, it's set in the early Fifties during the rabid Communist scaremongering headed by Senator Joseph McCarthy. One result was the blacklisting of suspected Communists and sympathizers in liberal Hollywood, of which our protagonist Peter Appleton became a victim.

To hear the roar of the crowd as the player goes in to slam dunk the basketball in the professional sports arenas,this film equals those thrills for the audience as Jim Carrey (Luke Trimble)takes us through the mind of someone that has amnesia and unwittingly becomes the hometown war hero set in 1945 period. Stars abound in this film like character actors Martin Landau and James Wittemore.Boy meets girl,they fall in love,then a twist in the plot as Peter Appleton (Jim Carrey) is accused of being a communist,similar to the Army McCarthy hearings for those old enough to remember.It all turns out like everyone wants.....Ed Lynch 10/29/06

Boogie Majestic.......2003-08-07

This soundtrack is the best soundtrack I have heard in a long time. Bringing the swing big band music was fantastic.I wish they would have included Pennsylvania 6-5000 in the soundtrack though. This by far is the best movie soundtrack next to Swing Kids. So buy this soundtrack. This is real music.

An answer for a question from Texas.......2003-02-15

Music fan from Texas, Yes both songs are there and as strange as it may sound, those where the two songs that cought my attention when I saw the movie. The one with the clarinet is called "Stranger on the shore" while the one with the piano is called "Boogie Woogie Stomp" I believe. The soundtrack as a whole is flawless and I strongly reccomend it.

Tenors on Tour - Versatile and Beautiful.......2001-06-20

Tenors on Tour is a CD which will live forever. The opening songs by Placido Domingo, His arrangement of Blue Moon and Moon River, set the tone for the CD. To hear Richard Tucker do "Climb every Mountain" was a wonderful trip down memory lane. Who will ever forget him? Placido continues with Broadway..Maria from West Side Story and a Beatles song "Yesterday". Mandy Patinkin's "Over the Rainbow" is classic and wonderful! But in my opinion Jose Carreras has the most "goose bumping" production on the entire CD. His Ave (Maria) is so beautifully done it may just bring tears to your eyes. The "King" Pavarotti is the "clean-up Hitter with selections from LaBoheme,and he does "O Sole Mio" as only He can do it. This CD is a treat for anyone who enjoys fine music. You will play it over and over again.

A Hard Rock Effort.......2006-07-16

The production of this recording is absolutely stellar!
Welcome back founder Dave Hlubek to the band (following a 20 year absence), who's personal guitar signature is written all over this 58 minute recording. In fact, Hlubek is the 'main ingredient', laying it down - which makes this recording work. It's actually a 'down and dirty', Hard Rock effort, but with more of an 'in-your-face' style, and played 'with an edge'. It's certainly not Southern Rock, simply because dual-lead guitarist Bobby Ingram does not have the ingenuity the original Molly Hatchet guitarists had. Ingram is more of a 'stratospheric-type' rock/slide guitar player. The percussion is actually quite stong on this recording, and the keyboards are properly, barely audible on most tracks, down real-low in the mix.
Still, this is a great Hard Rock effort! The vocalist actually resembles Danny Joe Brown's style (which is probably good for M.H. covers), but that's as close as this gets to the original Molly Hatchet sound. Still, 5 Stars. Welcome back Dave Hlubek! Your a God-Send, Brother.

Their BEST in a long, long time.......2006-03-31

I panned Molly Hatchet when they released Kingdom album. It sucked. All the elements where there but it just didnt cut it for me. But this album is very good, not a 5 star classic as many other reviewers warrant it to be, but a solid 3.5/4 star rating. And whats up with people bitching about no original members left?!?!?! For Chrissakes, Skynyrd's been going around for years with only Gary and Billy in the band, and people are loving it, making them sellout arenas, why?, because Johnnie Van Zant is singing!?!?! he sounds and performs (which is why people are going to the shows) like his brother Ronnie. So why can't hatchet do the same! I mean, DLB is deader than a doornail, so why can Phil, Bobby and the boys just keep recording and playing live? I mean many of you bitch about no original members this, no original members that, look at Skynyrd, did Gary or Billy write any of the lyrics to FreeBird, Saturday Night, That Smell?, No it was Ronnie, but everyone that pans Hatchet is licking Skynyrds backside for continuing, and crapping on Hatchet for going on without no original members! Listen, Skynyrd is a still going acting like a tribute to the 70's band, and the same with Hatchet, love it (go to the show) or hate it (don't go) there still around.

Best In a While.......2005-09-22

First of All i want to say all their albums a great. From the Danny Joe Brown (RIP) Days till now this album is very strong, just found out about it saturday and got it and don't regret it at all, I'm southern but not a big southern band fan but have always liked Molly Hatchet, But anyway this probably of the newer hatchet albums the most hard rockin' cd they have produced and with Dave back one can say at least one original member is here. I saw them back at the first of the summer And they kicked, one reviewer i noticed said did anyone want to buy his copy of 38 specials drivetrain, does anyone want to buy mine! I've never made it through it yet, done played this album 20 plus times since saturday and still gets better. so in closing with me mainly a metal music person if molly hatchet can impress me with the heavy sound of this album then they can go a long way, of course i'm not a music critic but i say go buy it!!

Molly Hatchet cranks out another great album!.......2005-09-10

This album, to put it simply, CRANKS! After over 25 years of rockin' and several member changes, the entity that is Molly Hatchet still lives on, thanks to great song writing, inspired mainly by band leader and lead guitarist Bobby Ingram, and good ol' Southern Style lyrics from Phil McCormack. I purchased this CD on a whim. I was just curious what the boys had been up to, and hadn't purchased a Molly Hatchet album since the Greatest Hits release back in 1991. When I heard the first cruching riff on "Son of the South", I was hooked. "Warriors of the Rainbow Bridge" renewed my old friendship with Molly Hatchet, and inspired me to purchase the three previous studio albums I had missed, "Devil's Canyon", "Silent Reign of Heros" and "Kingdom of XII". I didn't think that Molly Hatchet would sound like this without Danny Joe Brown, Duane Roland, Steve Holland, Dave Hlubek(who's now back in Hatchet), and Bruce Crump, etc., etc. Let me tell ya folks, it's true blue Molly Hatchet. Bobby Ingram's style is a little heavier than what you may remember, but he and the crew had a lot of raw energy to unleash on this disc, and Phil's vocals are eerily similar to Danny Jow Brown's. Along with the new Southern Anthem, "Son of the South", "Moonlight Dancin' on the Bayou" features some of Ingram's best guitar work to date, and "Get in the Game" has you singing along to chorus, the first time you here it. Great effort from a true legend of the South!

Absolutely awesome!.......2005-12-12

This is an amazing album which appeals to young toddlers and old dodderers. It is hard to believe that this breathtaking singing of both popular pieces like "Fix You" and "Everybody's gotta learn sometime" and a few standard classics comes from 13-19 year olds from the middle of England (Robin Hood country; a former coal-mining area)and not from a professional group.

The girls' singing make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, give you goosepimples and bring tears to your eyes - in fact, give you a heart-warming experience!
