Essential.......2006-11-11
I love this album. Low Cool is quite possibly the most hypnotic track I've ever heard. This record belongs in all public library databases.
Plasticity: One of my all time fave CV recordings!.......2005-08-07
I can still hear this CD in my mind when I sleep... Why, because back on a storny night in 1997 somebody broke into my '89 Jetta stole 3 things that were very important to me: my blue fake-fur 1950's coat that I scored for 5 bucks, my Alpine system and my CV Plasticity CD that I adored and got as a Chistmas present. That was one of the worst mornings of my life!! I worked two jobs and realising that I wouldn't get to bump "Low Cool" to work made me more mad than my Alpine being ripped out! Plasticity started my day...Everyday!! This whole album just builds with such typical CV beauty, I highly recommend this album to any it to any fan CV fan who appreciates their more dance-like perhaps even more modern flair. It is truly a GEM of awesome dance tracks, breaks, their famous fast high hats and great samples that stay with you forever. It may not be their most popular or well know album but it will always live in my CV lovin' heart forever. Hey, maybe the thugs who stole it, wore the jacket while listening to "Low Cool", that might be a funny picture to keep me from getting too bummed! (The saddest part is still having the empty case *frown*) Plus FYI people, if you're interested, pick it up soon cuz it's OOP! So snatch one up new or used if possible when you can especially (like I stated before) if you appreciate CV's more modern sound like I do! (Eventhough I am a hardcore CV fan of all of their releases anyway!) As they say, "It's alllllll good!" You should enjoy Plasticity. "Do Right, always works..."
low cool.......2002-03-30
I first heard Low Cool on the Wasted compilation, and I just knew that I had to find the CV cd. My copy says that Plasticity is 'also available' as International Language.
Deep Time is quite nice, a sorta synthy samba. Neuron Factory is a disco Carl Sagen with periodic Deep Time synth flashbacks. Finally, I found the last song Soulenoid to be very Brappy...
One of their best.......2002-01-31
The best industrial/techno album I've ever heard. Buy it, if you still can! Also check out RH Kirks solo material especially his Sandoz, Electronic Eye incarnations. His latest Sandoz release Afrocentris is excellent.
Any self respecting music lover needs this album.......2001-10-18
Having owned this album for about 6 years I felt I must say my piece. This stunning album is a 'must have' for any collection. It takes you on an incredible journey through Ambient, Electro-funk and Nasty House with a sinister edge. Without doubt the Cabs are the most unsung heroes of the last 20 years. Every album has hidden gems, get collecting!!!!

Short but sweet.......2004-06-10
Yes this album is brief, yes it's only 3 songs, yes I and many other fans would have loved this album to be longer, but you know what, "Plasticity" the title track is just fantastic. When I first heard the song "Plasticity" back in '96 when it first came out I believe it was the first FLA song I'd ever heard. The song was so intense, menacing, and had such a great rythym that I've been a huge fan of FLA ever since. 8 years later it's still one of my favorites. Whether you want to work out or just zone out, it's an intensly moving track. I give the title track 5 stars. The single then slows down a little with the next track "Replicant" a good solid track, but seems like a 'breather' after the first. I give it 4 out of 5 stars and 3 stars to the rather odd but interesting remix by Haujobb, a rather strange group in my opinion whose songs are either a hit or a miss. Overall this cd, although it's just a single, is definately worth spending a few bucks for.
Not long enough!!!.......2001-08-17
That's right, it's not long enough! That's why I've given this 4 stars instead of 5; it's just a teaser.
'Plasticity' is a hard hitting, aggressive tune with some razor sharp, deep cutting synth work. This is the fastest work I think Bill's ever put out! To me it almost seems like a remix of a song off of Hard Wired, due to the extreme familiarity of some parts of the song.
But I think the real star here is the dark 'Replicant' which is almost old-school FLA. I love this song! If you like songs from Caustic Grip era, mixed with a little Millenium style sounds, you'll love this one!
Then you've got the 'Zero' remix from Haujobb of 'Plasticity'. I'm not a huge Haujobb fan, but this remix is not bad.
I think that perhaps this CD was released to bridge the gap between 'Hard Wired' and 'FLAvor Of The Weak' and make the latter a little more easy to accept. No matter what, Bill Leeb still remains a genius.
psche.......2001-04-07
Plasticity seems at first a song they should have forgotten to include in Hard Wired; but the beat is more danceable and then, mainly after listening to Flavour of the weak, everything is explained, even if Fulber was still here and not Peterson yest. The problem with this song is the voice: it's weird but not cool for me. I don't exactly like Leeb's voice, but on this song I abhor it. Besides, the song is not very original; the other song is as mediocre that one understands why it's not included in any album. Not even the samples from the film 'Cronos', with Federico Luppi's moaning (one of the best actors I've ever seen) can save the song. Leeb and co were a bit stagnated at this time, actually.
Short but cool..........2000-05-18
I love EPs, but it's a pity this one is so short (19 min), as it contains only two unreleased songs plus one remix. But it should be said that this disc contains one of the best FLA tracks ever! 'Plasticity' just grabs you and pushes you straight to the dancefloor, fuelled by an overwhelming sensation of machine-driven panic... Actually, the song is not very original as it combines all the typical FLA elements, but the formula is so perfect you just can't resist! The second track ('replicant') is more classical, an average product of the 'Hardwired' period, I would say. Finally, the 'zero' remix of the title track by Haujobb is quite cool and atmospheric, but lacks the intensity of the original. Anyway, this true genius track should be enough to make of this EP a precious collector's item.
Murderous Intensity.......2000-04-12
It's not to say that the other 2 tracks on the single are throw-away, but the real reason to be here is Plasticity. This is what it sounds like when Leeb and Fulber are hitting on all cylinders. It stands as the incredible middle ground between the dense, dark sonic landscapes of Hard Wired and the pounding, dance commanding arrangements on FLAvour, getting both in equal levels and meshing them perfectly. This is definitely the best single FLA ever has and probably ever will put out and it stands very near the top of the list among the group's work as a whole.
