Rollin' out the hits..........2006-07-21

Mira has produced another wonderful sounding album (think the shimmering guitars and intelligently-written music of Radiohead with a pensive Annie Lennox singing) to follow their terrific album, _Apart_. It's not as dark as _Apart_, though it's certainly not "Shiny Happy People", either. Mira is a greatly underrated band, and it will hit high on the alternative charts with one of its more upbeat tracks. If it doesn't happen with this album, it will with the next. They're too good not to be very widely known.

Nowhere near as good...........2006-02-24

As APART, which I loved. It's similar in tempo to Apart, but lacks the mood and sense of drama which really set it... Apart, lol. "Long Division" and "Heavenly Slumber" are nice tracks, but I found myself not being able to pay attention to most of the CD, it just doesnt grab you and say "listen to me". And somehow, the production value seems lowered on this CD, nothing stands out, be it a guitar hook or a particularly soothing vocal... it's all jumbled together and lost somehow. It has some nice moments, but if you want to listen to Mira, Apart is the one to get.

disappointing.......2005-10-06

As a follow-up to the 5-star effort "Apart", this is a very lackluster collection. I love Regina's voice- the way it can build in energy and power while maintaining a smooth, ethereal tonality (listen to "Space" on the Apart CD). That driving quality is lacking in this collection. I don't know much about mixing music, but it seems to me that the band overshadows the vocals on every track. Adding to the problem, Regina's singing seems overly subdued, and her vocal pitch on this CD is noticeably lower than previous efforts. After such a long wait, the finished product is very disappointing.

Just listen to "Where Have You Been" and tell me if you have ever heard a child's song with such power to evoke the mother-daughter spirit. Herdman is the Baez of children's music.

I found this at the library. I particularly liked the song "Kindergarten Wall". I think that little songs like this should be written more often.

My children and I love this album. Some lyrics are funny and get the children singing and dancing, other tunes stay with me through the day. This is quality music for children that adults won't become irritated with after repeated listenings. Wonderful for car trips; the music is interesting and pleasant for everyone.

It was instant love at first hearing for my almost 4 year old son when he heard this CD. We play it on the way to preschool and we both start out day singing the songs. The messages in the songs are great. There is a combination of fun, upbeat songs, and soothing, calming songs.

David Cassidy's Daydreamer CD.......2005-03-10

This CD import is a great sampling of the audio version of David Cassidy Live in Concert. For all those that do not know it is a sampling from the great double LP "David Cassidy-His Greatest Hits Live" which is long out of print and tough to even touch on eBay. It is half of the great LP recorded live at Albert Hall in the UK. A good sample but one would wish the whole LP would have seen CD. It was available in limited release but there are some great songs showcased here from his earlier years. Worth the meager sale price to have these gems!

DAVID RULES THE WORLD.......2002-07-11

I have never been to a concert of David, simply because he never toured in Holland, and being twelve at the time I couldn't go to the UK for it (if I even knew then that he toured there at all). This CD gives you (I think)a good insight of his live performances. Little out of breath on some of the songs, and unfortunately sometimes you hear his voice has 'broken', but there is real good atmosphere. In his book he writes of the screeming girls at the halls, and yeah, they are there allright!.
If you're a fan and never saw one of his concerts, buy it. If you saw his concerts, buy it too, you will feel like you are in your teens again. Songs are great and you get the 70's feeling of this guy who rules the world.

Powerful versions of earlier hits ... yet with a style that is nothing like the 70s Partridge Family or the teeny-bopper David sound of the 70s ...

All in all ... Rock and Roll at its most crude and finest ...

Definitely not like the David of old. Overall a good CD.

Half of a double album set.......2000-10-27

Back in 1986 Mr. Cassidy released a very nice 2-record set in the U.K. called "His Greatest Hits - Live" and this cd is culled from that release. In fact it completely contains sides 1 and 2 in the same song order. Unfortunately sides 3 and 4 had the better material and they're nowhere to be found here. "I am a Clown" and "I'll Meet You Halfway" are stand outs while the track "Daydreamer" turns into a bizarre and awful medley of songs he never recorded. Very strange. Hopefully one day the entire show gets released on cd because his live versions of "Looking Through the Eyes of Love" and "Rock Me Baby" are surprisingly good and are sorely missed in this limited package.

Fantastic.......2006-02-03

On a recent trip to Ireland we had the opportunity to see this very talented musican. His music brings both tears and smiles to my face. It was indeed one of the best experiences of many, that we enjoyed in Ireland. Spillane's music is haunting and memorable. This CD I play daily.
