Ring of the Dolphin.......2005-09-13
This is a beautiful instrumental work of art. The second song was used at my daugther's wedding for the bridesmaids to walk into and the first song was used for the beautiful bride to walk down the aisle. Simply beautiful!
This should be a review for the gruop!!!!.......2001-12-16
I am a DIE-HARD Cusco fan! I should just be writing a review for the group instead of just one of their CDs. Reading the other reviews by some other listeners made me feel I should write this. First of all, before buying this CD or any other Cusco CD you should realize this is a CROSS CULTURAL gruop. Every CD will be different sound-wize. Ring of the Dolphin is a Celtic CD. Cusco captured the Celtic sound perfectly! This is a very beatuiful and well made CD. If you don't like Celtic music, don't buy the CD. Cusco as a Cross-cultural group, offeres other types of music you probably will like, just be open-minded. Looking at most of their covers on their albums will give you an idea on what their music will be about. This group is very talented and open with their love of culture, please be open-minded with them.
I love cusco.......2001-06-20
I love cusco and this has to be one of my favorit titles of the set. the only thing that i would think make this better is if it had a better review of the book because i am trying to find it on the internet and have no idea where to get the book
This album is part boring, weird, and interesting!.......2001-06-01
I love Cusco, and the music on here is nice, but the only thing I don't like about it too well is that it has got some suspicious and weird stuff on it; like some historical stories of spells, charms, and stuff. It's got certain kinds of sorcery on it. Be alarmed before buying this, because you should watch out for what you read and listen to about this. This had stuff in it I would want to guard my spiritual mind from. The front cover also looks boring, with only a picture of running water inside an ancient castle, and the way the dolphin looks while it is leaping up. The only songs that sound interesting on rhythms and beats are pretty much every song on here except for "Djebel at Tarik", and also the reprise of "Ring of the Dolphin" at the end is kind of slow enough to be boring, where it just had to alter the first longer and little more high-spirited version. My favorite songs on here are "Bur Said", and "The Children's Crusade". But "Bur Said" is my most favorite, I think. But anyway, watch out for the song that is called "The Spell". That seems like kind of a tricky title to want to set your mind on, where it kind of sounds Medieval New-Age like. But every other song, I think is pretty much okay, and you don't have to concern yourself too about, except for that one song.
One of Cusco's best.......1999-12-25
Most of Cusco's releases are available only in Europe. This album was originally released in Germany as Ring der Delphine. In the US, some of the tracks were put on various CDs, which are really just "Best of" CDs drawing from other Cusco releases. Of all the German releases (I have them all, as I lived there), this and Tales from a Distant Land are by far the best. The music here is simply great. The German release also had a long storybook (in German) about the tale of the Rings of the Dolphins, and how they progressed through history. Anyway, buy this album. It's really good: the music is quite different from Apurimac. Various instruments and synthesizers are combined to make a great album, and there's not a single track I dislike.
