Consistent.......2006-11-14

This beats Relax With Crackling Fire & Vermont Hearth. The roar is nice & audible, giving Fire Sounds a really "warm" sound. The crackling is consistent, although it comes in formulaic batches. There are also quiet hisses & an occasional metallic pop. The nature sounds are mainly crickets & an unobtrusive bird.

For all this, I have 3 concerns. 1) There was no owl at all--a real disappointment. 2) The fire sounds on track 2 are exactly the same as on track 1, down to the hisses & metallic bangs. After hearing the version with the insects & bird, I thought track 2 a little dull. 3) The disc itself is blue on the playing side, like a homemade job. The label side has a dirty, speckled appearance and a spot looking improperly sealed. It was alarming, especially because I bought it new; but I had no technical problems.

This sounded just like a camp fire to me. The crackle of the wood and the outdoor animal sounds at night. I've had fun playing this indoors to create the mood of camping at night.
