The featured keyboard artist from Mannheim Steamroller scores again with this stunning new recording of his original keyboard works. Jackson Berkey’s colorfully descriptive piano music from Cape May, New Jersey continues on this pristinely recorded CD from SDG Records. Atlantic Fantasy and its companion pieces, Cape May Solitudes, were written between 1999 and 2003 during Jackson’s writing sabbaticals at "Colvmns By The Sea", a former B&B in Cape May, New Jersey. This new SDG CD, along with its correlated publications from SDG Press, brings new major works to the piano repertoire of the 21st Century.

Jackson Berkey’s performances reveal a mature artist and composer, often in a very contemplative, reflective mood. The title work, Atlantic Fantasy, is comprised of six sections, seamlessly connected in a 20-minute, masterful display of pianism. The composer’s collection of reminiscences, Cape May Solitudes, provides deep reflections on those parts of our lives no longer with us. People, places, and pets are brought to life through music combined with the natural sounds of the Atlantic ocean, winter winds, seagulls, and the return of the L’Ultima Amor chimes from the composer-pianist’s earlier CD, Cape May Preludes.

This 1995 masterpiece by talented Zion Train crew offers irresistable and hi quality modern dance music while preserving the beautiful hallmarks on which 70s and 80s plate dub was based. Zion Train has shown the way how dub must survive in the 21st century. A rarity - a sound system that manages to sound just as exciting on the record as they do live.

Take the subtle hint from the cover art!.......2004-01-11

This album's got its moments- but complaints of boredom and repetition can be a problem with any dub record. The thing that compels me here is it's the only dub I have in the post-digital age, and dub is meant to be such an analog art, with reel-to-reel reverb effects. But they use technology tastefully to reach a higher level. The cool thing is the album builds in conscience as your mind no doubt will; provided you heed my subject line- until the last track which is TRULY AMAZING. The whole reason I hunted the album was hearing "One Conscience" on the radio once: it is unquestionably one of the best dub tracks I have ever heard.

Reggae-Dub Fusion.......2002-03-25

I would never have known about this album or group if the distributor hadn't sent me a review copy when I was involved in radio production a few years ago. After a few listenings, I found myself drawn into the music more and more. It has a trance-like rhythm, like much dub music, which I began to familiarize myself with after hearing this record, which I think is Zion Train's best, most artistically cohesive effort. It is a very satisfying CD that I have no hesitation in recommending. The first five tracks are inexplicably light on the bass, but then they locked it in and the rest of the album requires no bass boost.

If this is fantasy..........1999-09-23

It's nice. Relaxed, compelling. But, HEY, too long and boring!! You won't find out whether you're listening to the first or last track, since they all sound the same. 4 of 5 dentists recommend the "Grow Together" album. You should go and get it, guys at Amazon!

What a relief. An interesting modern piece of music is about as rare these days as a working modem. Intriguing to listen to, Aitken's work is as superlative as his writing (and teaching). Every modern composer should familiarize himself with this man.
