About the Artist
Jeremy Podgursky was born in Louisville, KY sometime in 1975. He began studying classical piano at age 6 and was scribbling gibberish onto staff paper a couple of years later.  He received his Bachelor of Music in Composition and Theory from the University of Louisville. Under the tutelage of esteemed composers such as Dr. Steve Rouse and Dr. Marc Satterwhite, he won many awards and graduated with high honors.  And in 1999, Jeremy attended the Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo, Japan as the private guest of Grammy Award-winning composer Tan Dun (CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON and HERO soundtracks). Jeremy's concert music has received praise in the USA and Europe for its imagination and other-worldliness.

One of the many things that distinguishes Jeremy's music from his peers is his ability to float freely between the worlds of rock and roll and experimental/classical music.  In high school, he began his love affair with rock and roll, performing and recording with Louisville legends DYBBUK and LATHER.

Jeremy's latest project, SUBTLE BODIES, was released in a partnership with the Louisville School of Massage on their new label "Sounds at the Stillpoint".  The CD is 60 minutes of blissful relaxation presented as musical art, not as New Age commerce.  Jeremy's experiences with classical composition and rock and roll allowed for him to compose, record, perform, and edit the whole project himself on Pro Tools.  This approach allowed Jeremy to create a CD that features live performers playing music that was intended to soothe, not overstimulate. 

Jeremy now lives in Chicago, IL and teaches piano during the day while he composes at night.
