Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Excellent!!.......2007-03-09

This CD is Frida's best. It is a must for all ABBA fans. The best part is that it is recorded in Swedish. I believe artists sound better when they record in their native language.

5 out of 5 stars Frida's masterpiece.......2006-11-06

Don't believe the comments of a certain reviewer on here who bashes everything Frida ever recorded. I wonder why this reviewer keeps buying Frida's albums when he/she thinks they are all trash.
This album is without question Frida's ultimate achievement in her solo-career. Every single song on here is a jewel. The opening track "Alska mig alltid" is hauntingly beautiful and sets the tone for the rest of the album. Frida's voice is more beautiful and mature than ever and the arrangements are heavenly. The first single from the album "Aven en blomma" is a poignant song about personal growth. "Sista valsen med dig" is my personal favourite of the album. A lush ballad with beautiful string arrangements, heavy drums and Frida's intimate voice. "Kvinnor som springer" was co-written by Frida herself and is a modern dance-track. Frida can simply pull off any style. She is an allround singer.
And what's more is that all her albums have a personal touch, a statement of where she stands in life at that time. And that makes them timeless. This album received a scandinavian release only in 1996. Had it been recorded in english, I'm sure Frida would have made a succesful international comeback. But there is no need to understand swedish to enjoy this album. On the contrary, hearing Frida sing in swedish gives the album something extra that makes it even more personal. A true masterpiece.
Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars High Fidelity Indeed!.......2006-06-28

I love ABBA. Always loved Agnetha. Always loved Frida. Two very different voices that were used superbly together... and nobody was anybody's back-up singer!
In an interview once, Michael B Tretow, who was ABBA's Engineer, described Frida's voice as 'High Fidelity'. This album supports that description. The swedish lyrics enhance the description of her voice, as you are listening to what you can find and relate to in the tracks... so of course, there's THAT voice, teamed with some great melodies. 'Aven en Blomma' is a stand out track.... and it's nice to see and enjoy the video clip of the song on the cd as well. There's so much depth to enjoy here on this album. Swedish lyrics?.. no problem! Translations are easy to find on the net! Isn't it great to still be able to enjoy what made ABBA so great... The girls voices!!?.. and it wasn't just the music!

5 out of 5 stars Frida at her Best.......2006-02-25

The only unfortunate thing about this album is that it was recorded in Swedish, which is not in and of itself unfortunate, only if it had been recorded in English, it would have been a major seller. "Aven En Blomma" is certainly one of the best pop songs of the 90s, and if it had been recorded in English, I'm sure it would have been one of the best known. Frida shows her versatility, going from pop ("Aven En Blomma," "Ogonen") to folk ("Lugna Vatten"), to light rock ("Kvinnor Som Springer"). Frida's best as a solo artist, and certainly as good as anything Abba ever did as a group. Don't let the Swedish put you off, you will be singing along in no time, even if you don't know what it means.

5 out of 5 stars maturity.......2005-10-03

I'm 35 today and used to be an ABBA fan back in the early 80's, and grew up listening to it, stopped for a while back when I was a teenager, and in my adulthood I'm back to my old passion. I admit that ABBA's music was sometimes tacky, but there was something so alive and lively in it that was Frida's voice, and I have to confess she was my favourite. I have never forgotten her name, although in my country (Brazil) her solos never got any radio play, and she is unknown, or she is known as the ABBA's brunette. I tend to come back to my old passions, gave a lot of thought before buying this album, because quite frankly I hate phill Collins and wouldn't satnd listening to "Something Going On", thought the artwork on "Shine" is repulsive, but saw that in Djupa Andetag there is something of real value. So after some months of trying to come up with a decision I have finally bought it, 7 years after its release. I yesterday had the chance to actually sit down and listen to it, and read the inlet with the songs in Sweddish, which i don't understand, but sounds quite beautiful. After listening to this album one can see that Frida finally got something on par with her grandeur, and finally in her 50's she has achieved that maturity that in ABBa or in her early solos she never had a chance to let flourish. i highly recommend this album
